Unit 35 - Health and Safety/Risk Assessment
A risk assessment is a process to identify possible risks and assesses the likelihood and
severity of the risks that could occur. This could lead to further action being taken.
Risks should be ‘rated’ according to the following codes:
Severity Scale Likelihood Scale Risk Factor
Action to be taken:
5. Take immediate action
4. High priority
3. Programme for action
2. Action may be required
1. Probably acceptable

Summary
As the space I will be using is inside a private college and will be used during lesson
hours whilst supervised, the risk of any serious issues is low. The only threats I could
face are crew members tripping over cables or overheating as the studio can become
warm due to the hot lights. However, I will inform the crew about these problems so
they can be aware and this should hopefully prevent any injuries.
