Cameron Bird created a magazine mockup to practice layout and design techniques. He started with simple text boxes but changed the masthead to go across the top with space for a crown graphic. To advertise other articles he cropped backgrounds and left characters visible to avoid color clashes. For one article he used purple bars and coloring to highlight and box it in. On a double page spread he included a large article paired with an image to summarize the topic and catch readers' eyes. He used a white background for writing to make it stand out against darker images.

2. Process
to begin with I used simple text
boxes over the key image for
information, I initially planned to
have the title stacked on top of
each other slanting towards the
right however this left too much
empty space.

3. Process
as I went on I changed the
masthead to go across the top of
the page with space in between
the words for the characters
crown to fit in. I also wanted to
have other articles advertised on
the front with images and to avoid
a large clash of colours I cropped
the background out and left the
character visible.

For the bottom right article I
wanted to try and highlight it with
purple with a bar running up the
side and the title being coloured
to make it seen boxed in.

For the double page spread I
wanted to have one big article and
then one large image to
summarise what I was talking
about, hence I put the large image
on the right to catch the readers
eye and attention.

6. Process
For the written work I wanted to
highlight the writing with a white
background seeing as the rest of
the images are more darker,
therefore the space of white is
even more visible.
