How effective is the combination of
your main product and ancillary tasks?
Evaluation Question 2
What I have constructed
I think that I have created three aspects that merge together well. The
creation of the teaser trailer teases the audience into watching the film
giving them an overview of the complete film and helping them to decide
whether or not they would enjoy watching it. The poster then sets
particular mood and idea of the film to also help the user to see if they
should watch the complete film. Then the magazine provides further
advertising for the film by giving exclusive information to film fans. The
three elements together work to maximize the potential of the advertising
campaign. Although with this there all many aspects that I used to make
these three elements work more effectively and I am going to explain
them in this presentation.
Styling
The styling of the three pieces is very important
firstly they got the be effective to appeal to the
target audience of which is mostly males. Though
the three tasks I styled my background and actors to
have a dark and mysterious look instead of a bright
and happy look what most film have that appeal to
females. To create coherence in the trailer and
poster I used showing effects and contrasting colours
to enhance the theme of the unknown and give the
viewer a superstition about the upcoming film and
enticing them to watch it.
Fonts
I used similar and most the time the
same kind of fronts throughout the three
tasks to actively present a coherent ling
between the three. Having the same
fronts throughout helps to maintain the
corporate image of the film and
therefore creates a imprint of the film
on every marketing medium. Also helps
to create a strong audience association
so then the audience recognize the style
of font and associate it with my film.
Colour
I particularly think this is a very strong convention
colours can prevail an overview of the whole film
for example if you saw pink and white in a film
poster you would know it was going to be a
romance and if you saw the colour red and back
you would know it was some kind of horror or
thriller. I used predominantly used darker colours
in my three tasks such as grey and black I found
these helped to give a mysterious image of the
film which I wanted explaining the title the
‘Unknown One2’. I used the colours red and white
for the majority of my text therefore it would
stand out and the viewer would be able to read it
with ease also I found these colour complimented
the dark backgrounds that I used.
Layout
The layout of all of my tasks follow the same conventions of regular
trailers, posters and film magazines, this helps ensures their won’t be
any brand confusion with the audience. Within my poster and
magazine I placed the bottom of the page this make the main image
to take center stage helping to give the viewer an overview of the
film. One the poster the use of the billing blocks makes it look more
professional.
