2. What is film marketing
Essentially marketing is another word for advertising, so when a new film is
made, it has to be advertised like any other new product, to let people know
it exists and to encourage them to go to the cinema to see it. The marketing
of a film an have a huge effect on whether or not it is successful. The
importance of marketing these days has massively increased because films
are expensive to make and if the public do not buy tickets at the box office to
see the film, a lot of money will be lost. There are many marketing
techniques that are used to help promote upcoming films, one of these
techniques is to construct a press junkets these involve the key people within
the making of the film, like actors and directors. For example interviews will
be constructed were the media will ask people such as the actors questions
about the upcoming film and then the public could watch this and then
decide if they will go watch the film and enjoy it.
3. Marketing methods
There are many different
marketing methods some are
used more effective as other
such as these days the

has a big impact of the films
success, here is a table showing
some of the more traditional

4. Why are trailers an impotent part of marketing a film!
Film trailers are the essentially the first
time that a viewer will be able to see the
movie, well small snippets of it. From
this trailer the viewer can then decide if
they would want to watch the movie or
not, this is what makes them extremely
important, thousands of viewers can be
lost or gained just on the trailer. For
example people may not like the genre
of an film but the trailer is so good they
will go watch it, so trailers can gain you
viewers and the profit along with that.
