Power & Fitness
Audience:
My audience for the magazine is going to be teenage males who enjoy partaking in physical
activities to remain fit and healthy.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
Coming into this I felt I already had a fairly sound understanding of photoshop and all the features
and was confident in my ability to be able to create using photoshop. However, this is completely
different to what I had done before, and I feel I’ve learnt more about editing photos to make them
look better, and not just with presets and all that but actually changing the image. My advergame
was a disappointment, but I feel that was mainly because I struggled highly with the drawing of the
character and kept my character far too simple to allow me to animate him. I think for this project I
will be able to do a lot better by not having to draw and animate that drawing. I will also be able to
use many of my photo editing skills to give all the images a similar look on the page.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
My project is going to be a sort of fitness magazine and the articles on the front of the edition I will
be making will be about winter training. The main article on the double page spread will give tips
for winter training and how to keep progressing and getting better/stronger when it's cold and wet
outside (which is pretty much the same as the Great British summer but for the purposes of the
article). For my project I am going to have to look at how different people train for different sports,
which I am currently yet to decide because I want to include different things to appeal to a wider
audience, over the winter months and try finding some tips and tricks from professionals to use in
my production. The research will give me the content for the article on the double page spread and
will influence what is in the images I will use on the double page spread and the front cover. I’m
also going to make sure all the suggestions I make are actually correct cause I don’t want my
magazine to be wrong and to confuse a potential audience, so all my research will have to be fact
checked.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
Every week I will look back on what I have managed over the past week and reflect on if it’s up to
standard, how well I think I have done and what else I think that I can do to improve it. At the end
of the task I will also look at how I have done and what could have been done to improve my work.
This will allow my working practices to develop as I will constructively be looking at the work I have
been doing and being honest with myself if it is good enough and if it's of the quality of a product I
would receive as a consumer.
