Subway Surfers
3D engine, collect the coins whilst not getting hit by trains, run over, slide
under, change lanes. Fairly simple characters which can be swapped
between and you can also customize your board.
The fonts used are very simplistic and are really easy to read which
makes it easy for people to see how they're doing and not have to focus
too hard to see what their score is.
The audience is kids and teens. It appeals to them because it uses bright
colors and provides them something to do and get better at when they're
bored.
4. Existing Product
Jetpack Joyride
2D engine, collect the coins whilst avoiding the bombs and the electric bars.

have insanely good eyes and have to concentrate to see the text (which during the game
is their score)
This games audience is kids and teens. It appeals to them because they get to level up
once they have played enough which means they get coins to upgrade their jetpacks

Dragon Hills 2
2D engine, collect the coins, take out the bosses to collect the cure which was apparently
dropped at some point and then some zombies run away carrying a little box full of

6. Research Analysis
• What common features do the researched
products have?
All the researched products include some sort of pick up which leads to upgrades and
advanced customisation once enough pickups have been picked up. The first two
games have a similar red/orange sort of look to them.
• What aspects of the research will you include
within your on work?
I think I will definitely have to include some sort of coin pick up which can lead to
being able to buy or upgrade items in a shop on the start screen.
