3. • The poster advert for this album is very
minimalistic, only giving the reader the bare
minimum amount of information which
encourages further research.
• The minimalism makes it more aesthetically
pleasing but doesn’t hold as much information.
• Pro: Plays on someone’s mind, encourages
further research.
• Cons: Some people prefer to be spoon fed
information so a minimalistic poster isn’t always
effective.

throughout the poster gives sense on continuity.

another selling point. Emphasising this through
the larger font of the other artists’ name.

they recognise and feel included in the new

7. • The Band’s name is in the largest font because it is

• Artwork creates a brand identity for the album/band
as it makes it easily recognisable.
• The Unique Selling Point adds to the reasons to buy
the album, ratings from known critics/special
features draw in potential buyers encouraging them
to buy this album over another.
8. How my research affected my poster
advert design
• From my research, I have found that typically there is never a
great deal of information on a poster as it overcrowds the
space and disengages the reader. As well as this, it is a good
idea to use the same font throughout the poster as it creates
a sense of continuity, making it flow better.
• Colour schemes are also very important as it establishes the
overall feel of the band and album, as well as making it easily
recognisable when linked with a band image.
• Unique Selling Points are very good as it gives the reader
more of a reason to buy the product as it shows as it has been
critiqued adding to an idea that it is a good album and worth
purchasing.
