Unlocking the Potential of the Cloud for IBM Power Systems
Maroon 5 harder to breathe analysis
1. Within the first 3 seconds we already see the use of a simple
effect to make the opening scene more exciting to view. As well
as this the drum kit is the opening to the video as it is
performance based and the drummer overall starts the beat.
2. We are now introduced to
the bassist and the pianist.
This is shown through a
mid shot.
We are then shown the
complete band (Maroon 5)
as the singer and guitarist
are added to this overall
mid shot.
3. Close up shots are now
introduced to allow the
viewer to identify and be
able to see a distinct
difference in the members.
4. We now see our first
camera movement as the
camera tracks up from the
guitarist feet to reveal a
low angle shot of him.
5. We see the use of
cutaways between shots of
the singer to keep the
video more interesting due
to the song having a fast
beat.
6. We are shown another
close up of the singer as he
is technically the most
important member as he
produces the lyrics which
in turn makes the song.
As well as a close up we are
shown a new mid shot,
which shows 2 other
members in the
background.
8. We are shown another
close up of the pianist but
this time a second close up
is shown of his hands
touching the keys on the
keyboard, it’s a simplistic
shot but shows more
creativity in the video.
9. From these 5 shots, we can
see the use of recycling
from parts which indicates
the use of about 5 different
takes of the song which
were edited and cut to
form one creative video.
Overall from the first 20
seconds we can see the
level of thought that went
into this videos planning
and creation
