Topic: The Boy Who Drew Cats

Outcomes:

 Studentsshould realize the importance of hard
work.
Procedure:
 Teacher welcomes the studentsto the class and
explains the importance of staying at home in
current scenario with a hope that soon things will
get normal.
 Teacher recalls the last class
 Teacher talks about how stories spread from
generation to generation.
 Teacher talks about how folk tales consist of
human beings and natureas the characters of the
stories.
 A video about the authorand his works is shown.
 Teacher gives studentsan activity to draw a picture
of their choice.
 Teacher reads the text from the text presentation.
 Teacher asks some review questions based on the
passage read.
 Teacher reads the text again.
 Teacher asks studentsto preparea dictionary of the
difficult words which they come across.
 Teacher gives an activity to write a conversation
between father and mother.
 Teacher concludesthe class with a classroom
activity of choosing the correct option from the
events given.
Reflection:
Teacher welcomes the students to the class and explains
the importanceof staying at home in the current scenario
and tells them to share their lockdown ‘stories’. Teacher
talks about different stories to generate the student’s
interest in them. I particularly liked the way teacher
addressed the class with the kind of eye movements as if
studentswere really present before theteacher, she looks
exactly in the same manner to both of her sides as a
teacher looks in a classroom. Teacher quickly explains
and even revises the paragraph taught by asking simple
questions which I believe is a good technique.
Throughout the class the teacher appeared calm,
composed and confident and was handling her job with
ease.
The only thing which botheredme was the time taken to
come to themain topici.e, thechapterconcerned.I think
too much time was consumed talking about the ‘stories’
itself which could have been avoided. But still the class
was an excellent one.
