Procedure:
 Teacher welcomes the studentsto the class and
asks about the activity given in the last class.
 Teacher revises the last class in a short manner.
 Teacher reads the text
 Teacher makes students read the text silently.
 Teacher explains the paragraph with appropriate
pictures of difficult words.
 Teacher reads the second paragraph and makes
studentsread it silently.
 Teacher explains the paragraph by asking
appropriatequestions.
 Teacher explains prefixes and suffixes from the
chapter.
 Teacher gives an assignment of preparing a news
report and a news headlinesfor the same.
 Teacher instructs studentson how to write a report.
 Teacher concludesthe class.
Reflection:
The teacher appears pleasant and confident. Her hand
movements were appropriateand the smile in between
was an icing on the cake. She welcomes the students
and quickly revises the last class. She uses mother
tongue judiciously in between, helping studentsto grasp
the second language better. Teacher explains the
paragraph with the help of relevant questions which is
a good technique. She explains words like gigantic and
mast with the help of pictures which help studentsto
remember the meanings for a long time. Throughout the
class the teacherwas calm and composed, she dealt the
content matter in an elegant and professional manner, it
didn’t seem that she put much effort to bring perfection,
unlike other classes where teachers try being dramatic
and sometimes funny, she kept things simple and was
successful in delivering the contentin an effective
manner. Apart from the contentshe also taught prefixes
and suffixes in an effective manner. Towards the end of
the class she teaches report writing and newspaper
headlinesin a simple way.
