assignment to studentsto writea paragraph on ‘How
do you spend your spare time’?
Reflection:
Unlike a normal greeting theteacherbegins theclass
with a riddle, which surprises and excites the
audience. After answering the riddle the answer of
which is ‘memories’ theteachershows a Malayalam
video of a song ‘ormakal’ which is quite surprising
and exciting because it’s not so often that one sees a
Malayalam poem in an English class!! The teacher
tries to explain theimportanceoftravel in a dramatic
way and tone which I felt was quite hilarious
becauseI haven’t seen any teacherexplainingthings
3. in a dramatic way in real life. I liked the way the
teacherintroducesthechapterbylinkingit to thelast
chapterthat was about travelling, but as children get
bored ofthe lockdown heintroducesthemto fantasy
world of story which is nice. Further he makes the
build up to the story by asking studentswhat dothey
do in their spare time do they read?, listen music,
play with toys etc. but what if they had done the
above things several times? The story was about a
boy who got bored and what he does to overcome
his boredom. He explains the paragraph with
relevant questions from the same which was
interesting. The teacher explains the paragraph
beautifully and concludes the class with a proper
assignment.
I think the teacher got a little dramatic while
explaining things, but overall the class was a good
one.
