2. Introduction
As a part of my secondary research I have examined existing print magazine
company. Within this research my focus was to find out how well-established
companies design, publish and target specific audiences/consumers.
In order to fulfill the syllabus criteria and at the same time to become familiar
with how the print industry operates I have researched various companies so
that i could have a clear picture of how the magazine that i will design and
create will be published to acceptable industry standards and to attract
specific audience.
4. Harper’s Bazaar
● Harper's Bazaar is published by Hearst, and, as a
magazine, considers itself to be the style resource for
"women who are the first to buy the best, from casual to
couture".
● Aimed at members of the upper-middle and upper classes,
Bazaar assembles photographers, artists, designers and
writers to deliver perspectives into the world of fashion,
beauty and popular culture on a monthly basis.
● Since its debut America's first fashion magazine, the pages
of Harper's Bazaar have been home to talented writers,
photographers and artists who made a magazine a must
read for every woman to this day

28. Summary
The main focus of this research was to see how the biggest magazine
companies function and operate when designing, manufacturing and product-
placing. The magazine that i intend to design and produce will therefore need
to follow magazine codes and conventions as well as publishing criteria
according to standards and law. In order to establish successful publishing
company these two fashion print mogul will be essential influence and
inspiration in my own magazine publishing process and eventual company
establishment
