For their school magazine project, the student learned to improve their research and planning skills. They conducted more thorough research for the final product, including flatplans, feedback, analyzing existing magazines, and looking at reader profiles. The student also researched fonts, clothing styles, locations, and call sheets to better plan shoots and organize their time. Overall, their research and planning process became more detailed and extensive compared to their preliminary magazine.

2. Research and Planning
• The standard and quality of my research and planning has
significantly improved as from my prelim magazine to my final
product. For my prelim all I did was look at a few previous and
existing magazine products to get a few ideas from. Where as for
my final product I much more thorough in my research as I did
flatplans and got people to give me feedback so I knew what
worked and what didn’t. This Is what my target audience wanted
so It was relevant and necessary so now I could create a product
which would suit them and they would consider purchasing. I also
looked at exsistng magazines in much more detail and then wrote
what worked for them and looked to incorporate this into my final
product.

• For my final product I did research into my fonts and the styles which
would be relevant and effective for my magazine style of dubstep. I also
looked into reader profiles of similar magazines and who would be
interested in them. Taking into account age and gender to see what would
work for my magazine. I didn’t do this for my prelim.

• I also for my final product looked into what type
of clothes would fit my mise en scene and would
be relevant, so I looked at some inspirational
images as seen below to draw ideas from for my
final product.

• I also for my final product did a recce of the locations I was
going to use as well as call sheets of the models I was to
use. This could help[ plan who was going to be and what
shoot location and plan my magazine. So this could help
my organisational and time management skills, which was
further helped by set deadlines.
