2. Existing Product: Zippy and George Top

This video seems to be made somewhere in the UK, outside someones house,
which is to be expected because Top Gear is filmed mostly outside, although
they also have a studio element. There is a number of extreme close ups like this
image that gives the video a more comedy vibe. That is a note to take into
account for when it comes to making my version. There seems to be a black
edge (may not be visible to all) but it gives off a comedy vibe still, as well as a
mock serious vibe, where the characters are pretending to be serious. The
puppets mime in the recording of the video so that when it comes to post-
production, they can voice over so that it is clear to hear. The video was filmed
on a sunny day, which gives the atmosphere a very happy mood as well as a
cheerful vibe.
Mise en scene: In terms of props, they are using real cars such as the Aston
Martin as well as the Toyota Yaris. I will be using my parents cars for the video,
which is a T-roc and a Mazda but I will not be driving them for safety reasons ;-).
For character size/costume, Zippy and George are at the height of an average
person, whilst my character will be about 2 apples high. For the acting, the
performance of the characters os really funny, and they did this by speaking in
adult humour and funny remarks. For costume, Zippy has a unique and
distinctive zip mouth so that whenever he talks nonsense, they can zip his mouth
fully up, whereas George and Bungle are based on real animals, but with a hint
of imagination such as George being pink and Bungle standing on his two hind
legs. This would appeal my audience they are very unusual comedy elements
since it not everyday where you see someone with a zip mouth or a pink
hippopotamus. My characters originally do not have a voice, but will make ups
my own unique accents for them all.
Audience Appeal: the comedy and the special effects would be the ideal parts of
the product likeable and entertaining because all theses effects compromise into
a comedic tone.
3. Existing Product: Mlp Battle Of The Generations

The video is probably filmed at someone’s house or a
studio in someone house that is dedicated to their
YouTube channel. The angle of the camera
throughout the video is always straight so it doesn’t
confuse the audience. In regards to effects, there is
additional lighting from the natural sunlight but also
some artificial lighting from lamps and lights to make
it stand out more. During post production, the editor
would’ve used a royalty free song for the background
that fits with the theme of the video.
Mise en scene: The characters within this video are all
toys based on real children’s show characters,
however, there is a contrast between different
generations of ponies, hence the name of the title.
The only props used in this video is a camera and
lighting to record the video and to make it stand out.
The colours of the video seem to be average and not
edited in anyway in order to confuse the audience.
The fonts used is like that or arial black, where it is
bold for the seriousness of the video.
Audience appeal: This video would be great for the
audience because it has comedic drama and well as
hilarious outcomes for both sides of the characters.
4. Existing Product: Rainbow (Geoffery Babysits)

The episode will have been filmed in the official
BBC studios down the south of the UK. There is a
variety of different angles in which we see from a
first person perspective of the characters when
they are talking so that they get more focus. The
effects of the video would be at the end with the
credits where in post production, after filming,
they would add the special effects for interest of
the audience as well as gratitude for the actors
and team.
Mise en scene: The costumes and props =used in
this series is full suits, average clothes and
puppets, to entertain children and to give them
morals and lessons of life for when they grow up.
The colours seem to be bright and also mostly
rainbow colours in order to show happiness and
joy to the world. The fonts in the title and credits
seem to have a joyful tone to them in a way
where it makes the atmosphere happier and
brighter.
Audience appeal: The audience will like this
because it makes them happy and not miserable,
as well as in for a good laugh, and the effects are
up to a high standard.
5. Research Analysis
• What common features do the researched products have?
• They all seem to use the elements of video intros so that it tells the
audience who they are and what they are going to do.
• They also use the element of music to m make it more appealing and
interesting.
• What aspects of the research will you include within your on work?
• I will use the aspects of there mise en scene and the location to film
in different environments to make the video seem different from one
another, in other words, more variety.
