Analysis; Iguana vs
Snakes - Planet Earth
II:
The voice over on this scene runs throughout the scene, David Attenborough is the only voice
over during the scene. There are slight gaps of him not talking because they want to
emphasize the action going on with upbeat music to attract and make the clip more exiting.
David Attenborough goes in to great detail at what is going on between the iguana and the
snakes which makes you feel more connected to what’s going on.
When you watch the scene/ clip you will start to figure out the surroundings/ environment
which they are in, mostly all of the footage you see is outside in a desert environment. The
purpose of this is to make sure the viewer is getting a good understanding of what’s going on
in the clip. The target audience for this scene is aimed at pretty much everyone due to the
fact that it is not explicit its educational and interesting to see what goes on around us in the
world today, I believe they you will be more interested in this if you like unique and
interesting things which happen around the world but I feel that anyone will enjoy watching
this.
David Attenborough’s voice makes the scene tenser due to the fact that it is deep and slow
this means that it makes the scene more exiting to what’s going to happen next. David’s
2. uses high and low pitches which makes it more interesting while there is an action scene on
the screen. The scene provides us with information about the animals and how they try to
live etc. In some cases in there scene there is and you will find that there is some themes
and subtext, you will find this near at the start where the iguana is on he’s own while the
snake is slowly creeping up on him.
To get the footage in this scene they have used hidden cameras to be able to get the best
shots possible, these cameras will be out the way which will be constantly filming curtain
areas of the surrounding’s till they get the shot they need.
In thissectionof the scene the voice over (David Attenborough) is using direct mode of address
in some places but not all. David is in most parts talking in a third party which means that he
is talking about what is going on as if it was to himself but he tries to twist it a bit to make you
still feel as if he is talking to you which is some ways makes you feel more connected to
what’s going on.

Analysis: nick and peter Christmas day fight- Coronation Street:
This scene of the nick and peter Christmas day fight is classed as a soap opera. In this short
scene you will find a use of many celebrities throughout wish take part in what is going on
and to add to the drama. As you watch this you will find that there is lots of use of
representations such as the location they are at, outside, with a quite atmosphere
surrounding the two main actors.
They are in the studio which looks like a standard street. The whole scene all together is
made up for entertainment purposes; they have used this set to be able to create what they
have wanted. They have made a particular moral which makes the scene have meaning but
where they have cropped the clip you don’t know the full understanding of why they are
fighting in the streets.
They have made the plot in a curtain way to make it more effective to the audience and more
interesting. They have done this to not just make the pot better but to also ad better meaning
to what are going on around them as well, we know this because there are lots of camera
cuts which go from the fight then straight cuts to other people not involved mainly in the
scene.
The style which the director has influenced is mainly like everyday life, where they try and
base the story on which goes on in a small town. Most things which happen are in realistic
but this is due to the fact that they need it to be entertaining and interesting throughout.
Everyone in the town know each other and are really close but there are a few relationships
between people who do not get along so they cause the drama to happen as seen in the
scene I have chosen.

3. Baby & Me, NewFunny Evian Advert/Commercial:
In the Baby & me advert they have used comedy to draw in the consumers attention which means it
will hopefully get the advert remembered as well it being more interesting and fun.
By watching the advert they have used many techniques to make sure you know what their
product does and why it is so good, you know this because while watching they have used
actors at all ages which means that there product is for anyone and not aimed at any pacific
target audience. The actors look in the window and they see themselves as a kid. This tells
the consumer that if you have their product it will make you feel better, fresh and in a happy
mood. The advert creates a buzz while watching; it makes you look at it and makes you
instantly interested to what’s going to happen or what the product even is. This product will
appeal to a large target audience due to the fact that they are using many actors of all
different ages by them doing this it has told the consumer that it can be for anyone. The
advert shows the values of having their product by making sure you see there product in
action and what it will potently make you feel like. They have filmed it on the street which tell
us that this is a product that you can take anywhere with no hassle, It is something you can
carry around without out it taking up to much space.
