Filming journal for canon

1. Diary entry for the filming of Amy Kilbride’s Advertisement of the Canon brand

Needingtomake astart on shooting,aftercollege at10:30am I will beginmakingrounds,basically
locationscouting,lookingtosee if there are many areas, I haven’tthoughtof to include whilst
filming.
As forthe cast, I do have everyone whoisupforbeingincludedonlythingisis gettingusall out
together.Idon’tmindhavingshotswitha few where othershots include othersasthatreallyhelps
my pointforthe purpose of the advertisement relatingtomemorieswhilstoutwithfriends.Sofar
thisSaturdaythe 22nd
isdeadinset to getsome shotstakenas we are all out celebrating,andIhave
gatheredeverybody’sconsenttobe a part of the footage whichreallyhelpsthisproject.Asforthe
weekafter,I have requestedfromthe same peopletohave aday out arrangedfor the weekafter
due to the purpose of the project.Onlyone hasagreedto it so faras long as he doesn’thave work
on the day ithappens.

So,beinga busyweekIhadn’tfoundthe time to go out forthe purpose of the canonproject.But I
have,once again, signedoutan SLR camera fromthe college alongside aspare batterypackready
for myoutingtomorrow.
There isthat possible chance of thingsgoingwrong,butthatI highlydoubt. My groupof friendswill
be there leavingnoissue relatingtolackof cast. The weather,as longas there isno hurricanesor
thunderstorms withsignsof lightning noproblemswillcome of the weather.Eventhenthough,
mostof the day will be inside ahouse sowouldonlybe missingoutonthe exteriorfootage. The only
way no videosandpictureswouldbe takentomorrow wouldbe basedonthe daybeingcancelled.
Letsjust hope thatdoesn’thappen.

Today will be mystart onproduction. Onthe X20 now headingtowardLangleyPark,Ishouldarrive
there justaroundten,possiblysoonerpossiblylater. Yes,althoughnostoryboard orprofessional
planningwasputinplace to helpgetan ideaof the shotsI’mafter.Really, I’ve gotno doubtthe day
will endwith usefulfootage aslinkingtomytheme setaroundtimesout,itmakesthe videosand
imagesmore real.Butof course, today'sadditions won'tbe the onlyfootage forthe project.More
will be neededandtaken.

Apologiesfornotupdatinganysooner.Buthey, thumbsup,bothpicturesandvideoshadbeen
takenyesterday.Enoughaswell leadingto a prettydecentrange of results. Veryfew thatwill come
to betteruse thanthe rest taken,still though,Igotwhat I wasafterby the endof the nightso
definitelywasn’tawaste of time bookingthe cameraout.
It’snot enoughthoughsofar, I am still inneedof more videosandpictures shotindifferentsettings
givinga range of sceneries.Nothingtoodifficulttoarrange,half an hour ago fromnow I poppedup
to the same group whowere involvedinyesterday'sfilminginthe hopespeoplewouldbe available
inthe comingweektohelpme finishoff collectingfootage.Gettingagreementsfromsome,
hopefullythatremainsthe answerup tothe day we do go out.

Arrangementshave beenputinplace now...kindof.Thingisthough,I’mhavingahard time relying
on what'sbeensaid. Igot in touchwiththe two whoagreedincomingout at some pointthisweek
askingforthe daybestavailable forthem.Findingoutthatday isSunday,I then senta message over
twoanotherfriend,requestingif she wasn’tbusythatshe’dcome throughSunderlandwithher
partnersome pointthisweek, whicheverdaymostsuitable forthem. Turnsoutthose daysonly
includedSaturdayandSunday.
Beingoff college tomorrow,Iaimtoget outof the house withthe SLR cameraat one side withmy
dog at the otherhavinga walkto the beach.Evenif I don’thave people there forthe shotsthere
couldstill be potential inthe footage.

I have justhad a fun idea.Lookingintoit,Iwas searchingintowhetheracampfire wouldbe allowed
to be set onSunderlandbeaches. TryingRokerandSeaburnfirst,the same website waspoppingup
fromSunderlandCityCouncil suggestingnottohave an openfire withthe pandemicrunningnot
beingassafe. ThenI remembered,we hadsparklersinthe drawerfrommybirthdaycake whichwe
decidednottolight. Planshave beenmade now,inafew hoursallowingthe daytofall dark, I will be
walkingmy dogwitha friendtoSeahambeachwiththe sparklersaside readysomore footage will
be takentonight.

Nothavinganyone to come withme yesterday,(whenIneededmore peopleinvolvedforthe
photographs),todayIwill have the imagestaken.Andthat'snolie thistime,asI am typingthis,Iam
on gettingsortedtoleave.Have averyimpatientdogwaitingonusto hurry upas well. Give me
aboutthree hoursfrom now,andall will be done.

See,Itoldyou three hours. We didn’theadall the wayto the Seahambeach,insteadwe walked
halfway endingupbetweenHendonbeachesandSeaham. Plentyof imageshadbeentakenaswell
as videos,some beingexperimental asIwas playingwiththe filtersoftenenoughtofind which
worked bestcapturingfootage due tothe sunbeingdown.
What was capturedwon’tbe enoughon itsown though,more outingswill be neededwithdifferent
sceneries.

AlthoughIshouldhave beenupdatingthisdocumentoverthe weekend, buthonestly, Iforgot.All
that has gone onthoughI shall mentionhere:
Friday:I had arrangeditwithanotherclassmate togo out the followingSaturdaysowe couldboth
capture footage forour Canon projects.
Saturday:The weatherwasjustterrible sowe couldn’tgooutdue to verystrongwinds.
Arrangementswere thenmade forthe nextday.Althoughwe couldhave,itwouldn’thave beena
smart ideato goout in anywaysbecause of the weatherasnodoubtthe qualitywouldhave beena
lotworse compared.

3. Sunday:We did go outresultinginalot of footage fromthe day. Andnow,I don’treallyneedany
more picturesnorvideos.Butif the opportunitycomesup,Iwill take it.Otherwise,Iamso far good
withwhatI got.

Thinkingthroughthe wayI couldendthe video advertisement;afew ideaswere poppingup.Going
to experimentwiththeseideas,more footage will be needed.Notmuch though,onlyone shotleftI
have inmindto filmisthe windowof a busfrom the inside lookingout.Justaquickfew secondclip
of thatfor creditsto roll upon.

Lendinga cameraonce again,I gotmore footage forthe Canonvideothismorning.Notmuch,but
three clipsof whatI wantedto getrecordedfromyesterdayasmentioned.Iam notdone yet
though,as well lastnight,Iwashopingto have a tripout and capture more footage whilstoutas
anotherideahascome to mindtoget on video.But Ihad no one to come out withme so I was
unsuccessful ingettingthatdone.Same againtoday,I hope toget whatI am aftertomorrow though
thenI am finallydone withthisjournal.

As I am typingthis, Iam currentlyonthe bus headingtotown,Sunderland.Ihave gotthe shotI was
afternow,I rewatcheditbefore puttingthe cameraaway and itis decentenoughtouse.Onlypart
aboutit I dislike,isthe view.ButthatI can’t reallyhelp.

The productionstage isofficiallyover.Nomore filmingisrequiredasIgot the lastfew shotsthisvery
morning. Ididgo out lastnightaround half eighthopingtoget the shot I hadin mindcomplete
locatedat B’n’MGrangetown.Butbeingsolate,I didn’tmanage togetthe filmingdone due toonly
havingtenminutestodoit withthe shopclosingsoonafterwe arrivedthere.
Insteadof waitinganylonger,Idecidedto getthe shot butin myown roommakingit as if I picked
the camera up to take out withme takingoverthe original ideaof itappearingIpickedthe product
up froma supermarketbeingastart to the video.
