2. Demographics:
Age group: The age group I will be focusing on for the outcome to this project goes
towards 16 to 25 year olds. Older generations are most likely to know more of
Sunderland and its history, they’ve lived in it whilst those in the chosen generation
are creating their own stories that the younger ones are looking up to.
Gender: Not aiming my product towards a particular gender, even those who had
taken part in my survey were split into three of each sex with the overall of
participants being six.
Education level: Going for a young age group, the desired target audience are in
their starting college and leaving university years. All but the two in my survey who
instead of continuing their education are working full-time.
Geographic location: Staying within the UK for this project, the aim is going mostly
towards those either living in Sunderland or near. As with my survey, only a few
who took part are located within Sunderland whilst the remaining few live around
Durham but still find themselves travelling to the City on an occasion.
3. Psychographics:
Based on some of the responses found on the survey, I am able to know and understand
my target audience better than I could have.
When asking, 'what do you like about Sunderland', one of the responses had mentioned
football. And from there a few times more football was mentioned, and by more than one
person. By that, I can only assume that football plays a part in some of my audience's
interest.
Another repeated answer goes for a genre my audience claim to lean towards more.
Although there was three answers repeated the same number of times, I know my target
audience appreciates a good horror, action and comedy movie.
I also know as well that my audience are not a picky group with accuracy not needing to be
an important sector as some care for a little bit of accuracy whilst the rest aren't bothered
about it at all.
Focusing slightly more on horrors for this one, it was questioned on what type of story
people prefer. With the options including fictional, fact or both, a shared number of
answers were split between the three.
