2. Process
First I opened up photo shop and chose the 1x1
pixel graph to do all of my work on. I covered the
ground in green to represent the grassy earth of
the woods and used a big sized brush to
minimalize time. I made a new layer, and
proceeded to draw some bigfoot foot prints in
order to practice how things will move in my
adver-gif. Using the time line feature, I then used
a multitude of frames to create the effect that
the feet were moving - I achieved this by making
certain layers invisible, moving the footprint in
the frame and then making the layer visible
again. I then added bold font that displayed what
the product was and when it would be released.
3. I first opened up photoshop and selected the poster
size. Finding an image of grass on Google/images, I
dragged it onto my photoshop page and used the
ctrl+alt+t keys to resize the image. I then selected
the pain brush, picked a brown colour and then
turned the opacity down before drawing the bigfoot
foot print. Using a bold font, I then wrote the
products name on the cover with a light down
underlay under them to give the affect that the
lettering had been drawn into the mud of the
footprint - I achieved this by creating new layers
and dragging the lighter tones to match the brighter
bolder font. I chose a fake author name and typed it
into the bottom of the foot print, bending it with
the arch tool. The last thing I did was opening up a
new document, dragging a best seller sticker from
google/images and then using the magic wand tool I
cropped around the sticker, copied the image and
pasted it onto my overall product.
4. First of all, I opened up photoshop and chose the
poster lay out. Then I opened up google/image
and tried to find a picture of the woodlands that
would suit my style choice. Once this was
achieved, I dragged it into my photoshop page
and used the ctrl+alt+t keys to resize the image. I
repeated this process with the two characters you
see at the bottom of the page. The females hair
took a lot of time to change as it was previously
brown, I spent a long time trying to overlay the
colour with no success. After quite some time, I
eventually realised it would be much easier to use
the magic wand tool to make the girls hair into a
sperate layer and then use the βfill inβ tool to turn
her hair pink. I then combined the layers. After, I
found a bold font to use for the title. I wanted the
words βNot Aβ to be in black but it didnβt stand out
from the back ground. Lastly, I repeated the same
process as I did for my book cover and re-applied
the best sellers sticker using copy and paste and
the magic wand.
5. Reflection
β’ What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
β I will definitely have to know how to work a time line in order to complete my adver-gif.
Knowing how to make objects move and operate making things visible in some layers
but not in others will be heavily needed in creating my adver-gif.
β I will include the double-layered font when creating my book cover as I think it really
draws the attention to the title of the book and could successfully catch consumers eyes.
I will also be sure to use the skills I picked up in making the book cover too include the
best sellers sticker in my product. The practise when making the foot print using the
paint tool will be very useful when painting a footprint in photoshop for my final project.
β Skills I have picked up from making these experiments in phot shop (such as resizing
images, turning opacity down, optimizing use of layers) will definitely help when making
the final products.
