2. Age
• My media product attracts mostly young people between 16-25
because of its rebellious and wild style. Especially young girls tend
to admire good looking rock stars and love to hang posters of them
on their wall.
• Young people especially teenagers tend to find this as interesting and
attracting. My magazine attracts them because I show an exclusive
interview of their idol plus a life size poster.
• On the other hand elderly might feel irritated or offended by the
nervous and crazy style of my magazine
3. Why my magazine is rebellious?
The name flammable already indicates the rebellious style of my
magazine. The red colour I have chosen emphasises the wild and
free minded view of a young teenager who might wants to
become a rock star.
The barely visible tattoo on the models throat says: Be
careful what you which. That shows a typical scary and
extraordinary look of a rock star. This is something new
and different and therefore attracts young people.
4. Stereotypical representation of Rock
• Rock stars are often seen as unwashed, dirty, drug addicts, alcoholics
and people who don’t know how to plan their daily life.
• My magazine supports this view only for photographs but not for the
personality of my magazine model. My magazine clearly shows the
stereotypical view on photographs as dark make up, leather and
alcohol is used. However changes this view with a very personal
interview on the double page spread.
• I have done this in order to show people that it is wrong to judge a
book by its cover and in this case to judge a Rock star by his look
• My magazine is against stereotypes and judgements.
5. Race
The race of people who buy my magazine varies from all types of races,
however I know many Germans and people from the Netherlands who
are particularly interested in Rock.
My magazine model is a white, heterosexual male who completely
supports those stereotypes, however this does not mean that people
from other cultures and countries don’t like my magazine.
I mentioned earlier that my magazine does not follow any type of
stereotypes.
6. Gender
• My personal experience is that
there are many women who love
Rock music. It is completely
wrong to assume this genre of
music as male dominated.
• It is clearly that many woman
admire handsome Rock stars such
as my model and will therefore
buy my magazine.
• That is the reason why my model
poses in leather jacket and guitar.
7. Sexuality
• The sexual orientation of my model is hetero
sexual, however he looks very similar than Adam
Lambert who is a homo sexual and extremely
talented Rock star.
• Adam Lambert is one of the most famous Rock
stars at the moment and his sexual orientation
should not matter as he has an extraordinary
talent which is his beautiful voice.
• Rock used to be a stereotypical genre connected
with heterosexual Rock stars who have sex with
beautiful models, drink alcohol and take drugs.
This changed when Freddy Mercury came along.
He was a very talented singer who showed the
world that the sexual orientation of someone
should not matter at all.
• My magazine shows the modern Rock as I show my
model with a modern style and an electric guitar.
