3. Conclusion:
● There are no primary sign of acute
antecaecal appendicitis, the
possibility of retrocaecal
appendicitis / chronic appendicitis
can’t be removed.
● There are no abnormality on the
other intraabdominal organs

appendicolith, ec.
suspect appendicitis
Conclusion
10.
11. ● Appendicography or appendicogram is one of radiographic
examination that is commonly used as a supporting
examination in establishing a diagnosis of appendicitis.
● Purpose:
○ To see the physiological anatomy of appendix
○ To assess whether there are any abnormality of the
appendix
● Indication: appendicitis
● Contraindication: suspicion of appendix perforation
Appendicography
12. • Filling or positive
appendicogram: all the
appendix lumen filled with
barium sulfate.
• Partial filling: Barium sulfate
suspension only filled part
of the appendix lumen and
not evenly distributed.
• Non filling or negative
appendicogram: failure of
barium sulfate to enter the
appendix lumen.
• A day before the examination,
the patient was given barium
sulfate to take home
• Barium sulfate is diluted and
administered orally
• 9 hours after taking barium
sulfate, the patient was
exposed to the AP, lateral and
oblique positions

Appendicography
Procedure
13.
14. • non filling appendix with
local pressure of caecum;
• filling of the appendix with
local pressure on the cecum;
• non-filling appendix with a
pelvic mass (blurring in the
right lower quadrant with
changes in the location of
small intestine due to
pressure);
• irregular appendix mucosal
pattern with cessation of
filling
• Non filling appendix
• Irregularity nodular from
appendix that gives imaging of
mucosal edema caused from
acute inflammation
• Mass effect of caecum and
adjacent small intestine
