Responsibilites:
 Managing of different maintenance Department (Power Supply – Signaling –
Electromechanical – Telecommunications) to get the work done with better quality.
 Revision and modification of maintenance plans (Protective – Corrective) for all systems to
enhance performance of equipments, and provide better service for passengers.
 Providing the necessary maintenance tools and measuring equipments to help maintenance
teams during performing their works.

Some Upgrading and rehabilitation projects during this period:
 Completion of the installation, testing and commissioning of surveillance cameras at some

 Contracting with the Spanish consultant UTE for performing the necessary consultancy
services for assessment and upgrading power supply for Cairo metro line 1 and 2.
 Completion of preparing the tender documents for establishment light repair workshop and
trains yard at Kodzika with the help of the consultant EHAF.
 Contracting with the French company Thales for supplying new AFC system for upgrading
line 1,2 ticketing system by supplying 850 new gate with dual technology and putting into
service .
 Completion of preparing the tender documents for upgrading line 1 systems.
From 10/6/2013 to 2/8/2014 :

Responsibilites :
 Managing projects during different phases in order to complete the works with good quality
within the budget and at fixed times.
 Preparing the Budget needed for projects.
 Revision the projects monthly progress reports and taking the necessary decisions in order to
get the work done at the needed quality.
Some Upgrading and rehabilitation projects during this period:
 Completion of upgrading of 11 trains from a total of 17 trains within project of general
overhauling of Phase 1 French Trains working on line 1 since 1982.
 Completion of phase 1 for upgrading AFC system in line 1and 2 with new technology based on
contactless cards, implemented by the Spanish company INDRA.
 Completion of installation of Optical Fiber Network in Cairo metro Line 1 and 2.
 Completion of installation of 46 escalators in line 1 upper stations.
 Completion of upgrading overhead Catenary equipments at line 1 .
 Completion of preparation of Tender documents for line 1 extension between El Marg and
New El Marg.

3.  Revision and modification of maintenance plans for the operating trains to increase the
availability of the moving units and keep safe operation for the line.

maintenance works done with the needed quality.

 Contracting for installation of MSN based on optical fiber cables in Cairo Metro line 1 & 2.

 Contracting for partial upgrading of the ticketing system for line 1 and 2 with AFC system.

From 27/08/2008 to 1/11/2010:
Head of Central Department for the line 2 maintenance.
During this period many actions were taken in order to keep the availability of line
equipments and providing better service for passengers:
1- Rolling Stock :
 Preparation of technical specification for the maintenance work and general overhaul of line
units including spare parts enabling high-efficiency and reduce operating faults on the line.
 Making the necessary studies for providing the needs for spare parts.
 Supervision maintenance many of the electronic cards, which helped to keep operation.

4.  Solving the problem of sections trip out due to ground fault.
 Guidance for the design of an electronic circuit instead of the mechanical timer of the oil filters
and installing it in RS stations and cooling and ventilation plants.
3- Signalling ,Telecommunication and ticketing equipments :
 Solving the problem of cutting of electrical sectors when the (UPS) is out of service in RS by
making an electrical circuit with batteries to ensure the continuation of nutrition for more than
12 hours.
 Study of supplying UPS devices for signaling rooms to ensure security and continuity of PCI
working in case of LPS failure occurs.
4- Cooling and Ventilation :
Supervision performing general overhauling for all refrigerating and cooling equipments in
order to increase the ventilation efficiency for all underground stations.
 Supervision providing all the necessary spare parts for maintenance and overhauling.
5- Escalators :
Supervision changing escalators chains which in operation for more than 15 years.
 Supervision modification the safety system of escalators in which the escalator stops
automatically in case any thing crammed at any steps in order to keep safety for passengers.
6- Track maintenance:
Buying new motor for track maintenance works.
Supervision to reform rail maintenance machine and provision of necessary spare parts from the
specialized agencies..
 From 16/5/2007 to 27/8/2008:
General Manager of the electric power supply line 2 & Ticketing equipments for line1&2.
 Factory inspection and testing of escalators rollers which helping increasing escalators
performance.
 Studying of non real power cuts of line sections.
Modification of tunnel fan speed control system.
