2. Initial Reaction
• My initial Ideas relating to make a magazine is to make
a film magazine similar to Empire or Total film where I
would review films and compare films however I’d be
doing a version of this where I review horror movies
that have been released recently and comparing them
with famous horror films. The main target audience of
my magazine would be for cinema goers who have an
interest in film and the horror genre. My plan is to
introduce this audience to a new way of looking at
horror in films and help them discover new films. I
thinks this is a good idea as it would have a large target
audience and there are several directions I can take the

6. Mood Board Analysis
The main theme I went for with my mood board was horror movies, I
wanted to build up images from horror films I’ve seen and can write
about in the magazine. From most of the images I’ve chosen its clear
that there’s a repetition of dark shades with bright focal points,
disturbing facial expressions and silhouettes of figures. I’ve chosen a
range of horror movies including slasher films and psychological horror
to expand on the genre I‘ve chosen.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
• The mood board has helped me find films that I can compare and
review in the articles of my magazine
• I’ve gained ideas of how I can present the images for my magazine
during production by using overlays and editing in Photoshop
• Red and white are the colours of font used for the titles of the
horror films so I could use the same style of font for the title of my
magazine.
