2. WHO BE THE AUDIENCE FOR
YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT?
My audience for my media product would be
young teenage girls. The age range would be
aimed at 12-16 year olds.
3. WHO IS THE INTENDED AUDIENCE FOR
YOUR MUSIC MAGAZINE AND HOW DID
YOU ATTEMPT TO APPEAL TO THEM?
Originally I had set out for my target audience to just be based for
young teenagers. But since creating the magazine I noticed that it was
specifically targeted towards girls.
I attempted to appeal to teenagers through the type of stories
featured and the colour scheme used. The stories would include
various topics that would interest those readers and colours that stand
out to them.
4. DID AUDIE NCE FE E DBACK SURPRISE OR AGRE E
WITH YOUR VIE WS?
WHAT DID THE Y SAY ABOUT THE OVE RAL L
L AYOUT?
From my audience feedback they had realised what I had previously
said. This is that the magazine is very targeted towards girls and not
boys. This was because of the stories that I had chosen.
They had said that the overall layout stood out as being designed
creatively but at the same time also simple to understand.
5. DID YOU MAKE CREATIVE
DECISIONS BASED ON YOUR
READERS?
The main thing I changed about my magazine is the colour scheme.
Originally I had set out to use bright colours such as pinks and
purples but from starting of my magazine I chose different. My
colour scheme now is black, turquoise and white. I decided to do this
as I felt that these colours would not only appeal to the original target
audience but also to a slightly older age range. This would then make
the magazine appeal to a much wider audience being able to advertise
and sell the magazine more.
6. WHAT EXISTING PRODUCTS DID
YOU USE AS AN INSPIRATION?
I used ‘Top of the Pops’ magazine as an influence on my work as this
was a existing product that targeted the same sort of audience and
featured stories and information that would be similar to my own.
