2. While in the process of creating my media product I went through
multiple different design concepts along with different approaches of
what kind of an audience I wanted and what kind of way that it would
effect my audience.
Using the Brand eye was a useful way of coming around the idea of
how to break down the different parts of information that I needed to
obtain from my audience such as the way it makes them feel, what is
says about them, what they perceive and the benefits that they gain
from it.
On the right is a Brand eye that I made about College information and
essentially a draft of what I would create for my main magazine idea.
3. When creating my Brand Eye I had to understand that I had to create it not from my own
perspective but from the perspective that it is based on my survey results and the concept of it being
around young teens.
The audience and every other piece of information is on my brand eye below.
4. I realised that the results that I was getting back from my surveys and
questionnaires were different than what I expected. I thought that it would be the
typical concept of a hip hop magazine where the model would be black with gold
ear rings and chains and so on but my results said otherwise.
They wanted something new something that would aspire them and change the
common ideal concept of a hip hop magazine. Through this I decided to subvert
some of the main hip hop magazine commonalities and make a music magazine
that not only benefited the age range of my magazine but also the ethnicity
therefore attracting a larger audience not just based on age which would bar out a
large amount of my viewers as such.
To also have a further connection with my audience I realised that I would have to
understand that not only the age but the clothing would play an important in my
magazine and that the clothes that they were wearing would be relevant to the
audience that I was pursing at that time.
