2. The intended target audience for my media product are young girls
between the ages 11-18 years old. I have included conventions that will
attract my target readership and will also enable them to relate to the
music magazine in many ways. The focal image on the front cover is of a
female teenager and this is one way the demographic are able to appeal
to my target audience; Bella (focal image) is the same/similar age group
to the target readership and this will hopefully attract them in purchasing
the publication.
3. • There is a gap in the market for this demographic as there are not as
many music magazines for this social group. I have used stereotypical
representations of this social group; one way is the colours and
brightness used in my music magazine; this social group is known as
the ‘innocence of age’ and so the bright colours would represent the
happiness and purity. If my media product was aimed at an older age
group, I would have used neutral, simple colours which will more
likely to appeal to them.
4. My publication will more likely to appeal to girls rather than boys. This
is because, I have used stereotypical representations of girls and have
applied it to my magazine. For example, colours such as pink and
yellow are included. This also implies that my magazine is mainstream
as it is adhering to the stereotypical representations of girls/teenagers
as stated above.
