2. Stage 1.
We wanted to use the same
image for the inside slip to
create a transition from the
poster.
We had two main ideas
for the inside slip...
3. Stage 2.
We removed background of
our image and cropped the
figure so it was just an angle
of his face. Because the
photograph was taken on a
SLR camera the quality of
the image was very high
even after zooming in
considerably.
We used a complimentary background colour and continued our type writer text. From
our research we new that a common technique is to add the lyrics either on the back of
the cd or on the inside. As ours in a single we didn’t want a back cover so thought it
would be appropriate to put it on the inside.
4. Stage 3.
This design was done using cropping tools. We
wanted this to portray a subtle “good v evil”
theme as we manipulated the face on the right
hand side to be darker.
This idea came from our mind map of the message
that war is usually good v evil.
We also used a golden font colour to
compliment the badge on the soldiers hat.
The mirror effect of this design had some mixed feedback which
we took into consideration.
5. Stage 4.
We went back to our feedback and looked
at all the negative comments and reasons
for the previous design. We realised that
even though we preferred the mirror
effect, it was the opinions of our audience
that matters.
We changed the
background colour as it
represented the modern
fatigues commonly worn by
british soldiers.
Because of the new background colour, the golden font colour was quite
hard to read to we changed it to a classic white (picked from the inside
of the badge) and changed the font from arial to a continuous type
writer font.
