Summary Of Rock And Roll Unplugged
Rock and Roll Unplugged
In the article Rock and Roll Unplugged , the author talks about the significance and influence that
African music and culture has on American and European culture. It opens with the origin of rock and
roll coming from the African blues and explains how rock and roll is very popular in mainstream
America. But many people are unaware that rock and roll and many other popular genres of music
such as soul, funk, punk, disco, rap and hip hop are all an extension of African culture. The
modification of Christian music that is present in African American churches is a result of the African
slaves incorporating African culture, dance, and music into the traditional Christian music. It was
documented that Africans had

Informative Essay On Pocahontas
Pocahontas is a famous figure in Native American history. Almost everyone knows her from the
movie, Pocahontas. However, her story portrayed in the Disney film does not give accurate
information about her life. Born in Werowocomoco, Virginia around 1596, Pocahontas was born to
Powhatan, who was the paramount chief of the Powhatan Chiefdom (www.nps.gov). There weren t
any written documents about Pocahontas mother, but some historians believe that she may have died
after giving birth to her (www.nps.gov). Pocahontas is actually a nickname meaning naughty one and
her birth name was Mataoka (www.ancient orgins.net). As a child, Pocahontas could ve lived a more
privileged childhood, but she had to learn how to become an adult woman. So she hardly wore any
clothing and she had her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But, there was never love between the two. In May 1607, the English settled in Jamestown and
Pocahontas and Powhatan wouldn t meet with them. Pocahontas was 11 years old. When it was
winter, Opechancanough, Powhatan s brother, captured John Smith and brought him to Powhatan.
They were planning to execute John Smith, but right when his head was about to get smashed by a
club, Pocahontas quickly placed her head against his, stopping the entire execution (www.nps.gov).
Historians argue about if this event happened or not because some believe that instead of an execution,
there was a ceremony and others believe that John Smith s life was never in danger. Nonetheless,
Pocahontas told John Smith that he was now a part of the tribe (www.nps.gov). The Powhatan Indians,
a group of thirty Algonquian speaking tribes, which Pocahontas belonged to, had a great relationship
with the English. In 1608 1609, the English wanted to trade some items with the Powhatan Indians,
however, negotiations did not work. The relationship between the English and the Powhatan Indians
abolished and Pocahontas wasn t allowed to visit Jamestown. But, that didn t stop her from keeping in

The Synthesis And Processing Of Ceramics And Ceramic...
INTRODUCTION | 1
Polymer derived ceramics (PDC) were first introduced over thirty years ago, and are a fundamental
material in high demand today. Over the years, these materials have been heavily studied to better
understand how to manufacture them and determine their desired properties. Such materials include
coatings, ceramic fivers, and ceramics containing properties that allow them to have high stability at
high temperatures. Desired properties of PDC typically include high resistance to decomposition,
phase separation, crystallization, high chemical durability, semi conductivity, and creep. [4]
This paper will discuss the synthesis and processing of ceramics and ceramic composites using soft
materials such as pre ceramic polymers. The potential for materials for a large variety of applications
in harsh environments, pertaining mainly to the mechanical properties of PDCs, will also be discussed.
PROCESSING TECHNOLOGIES | 2
There are three basic steps in order to process PDC. These include synthesis of preceramic from a
specific monomer, crosslinking of polymers at low temperatures which allow for networks to form,
and finally ceramization by pyrolysis.
Some of the most common monomers which can be used consist of polysilanes, polycarbosilanes,
polysiloxanes, polysilazanes, and polysilylcarbodiimides. There are several procedures in order to
attain these figure 18.1 indicates some of the methods of creating some preceramics through various
methods outlined [1].

Informative Study Of Gender Roles In Children
A very informative article on the study of the gender roles children feel stressed to conform to. The
article provides insights in how children interpret each other s masculine and feminine behaviors.
When children are informed of how each gender feels the same, it relieves the pressure, thereby
allowing the children to be more at ease with one another and exhibit their true behaviors. The
stereotype of gender roles produces health risks such as eating disorders and low level bullying.

The Department Of Defense And Defense
The Department of Defense is one of the oldest executive departments of the executive branches in the
United States of America and is in control of national security and the Armed Forces of the United
States. More than 3 million employees embody the Department of Defense and control it s day to day
operations and is well funded with a budget of $680 billion thanks to a bill that passed 68 29 in 2010 .
Under the Secretary of Defense there is a very powerful Chief Information Officer of the Department
of Defense, Teri Takai. Teri is responsible for developing strategic plans and to align with the
department s mission and the mission of the United States. The CIO of the Department of Defense
interested me because of the decisions having to be made affect so many users. Every decision Teri
makes has to be spot on and has to take in consideration, how it will hurt or benefit other departments
or national security. The goal of the CIO is to unify the information management and to advance the
technology vision of the department.
The implementation of 10 Point Plan for IT Modernization began as Teri s big initiative to upgrade the
information technology infrastructure. An assessment on typical IT infrastructures we look at the
organization, technological, and the strategy overall. In order to begin implementing new plans, the
current infrastructure and architecture must be assessed, a design and model for the new system must

Children Of God Through Faith
Beginning in 3:26, the NIV and NRSV translates, for you are all children of God through faith in
Christ Jesus. Here the word children translates in the Greek, téknon which means a child, descendant,
inhabitant. Téknon properly, a child; (figuratively) anyone living in full dependence on the heavenly
Father, i.e. fully (willingly) relying upon the Lord in glad submission. This prompts God to transform
them into His likeness. The NKJV translates, for you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
This word son translates in the Greek, hyiós. It emphasizes likeness of the believer to the heavenly
Father, i.e. resembling His character more and more by living in faith. The choice of the word son may
be in part because during biblical times a son was considered the inheritor of land, property, and
family wealth. Daughters were not typically ones to inherit anything. Further, each of the three
translations uses the word all . The word all in the Greek translates, pas . Pás ( each, every ) means all
in the sense of each (every) part that applies. The emphasis of the total picture then is on one piece at a
time. By all it is not excluding anyone or singling out one group of people (as described in 3:28).
Cultural Background In Judaism circumcision is performed on the eight day of the male child s life in
accordance with God s command and as a sign of the covenant between God and the descendants of

The Rhetorical Analysis Of The Hope Speech By Harvey Milk
Homosexual people have been misrepresented and refuted their basic civil rights in America over the
years, especially during the late 1970s. During this time, Harvey Milk, the first openly gay elected
official in California, was one of the most prominent spokesman on the issues surrounding gay rights.
In 1978 he gave a speech impacting the gay citizens of San Francisco and America, the anti gay right
wing movement supporters, straight allies of the gay movement, and politicians in general. His speech
known as the Hope Speech resonates with people even today as Milk attempted to address gay rights
and the importance of electing gay officials in office, using various rhetorical strategies such as
pathos, logos, and elevated diction. As a skilled speaker, Milk bridged the gap between the majority of
his audience who were not too familiar with homosexuality and those who were. In his speech he uses
pathos to persuade people to join or at least sympathize with his cause, logos to provide a logistical
argument with reason, and ethos to increase credibility. Throughout the speech Milk uses pathos to
connect emotionally to the different audiences he is addressing. To his straight allies, he proclaims that
an ally can not be elected to represent gays because friends can t feel the anger and frustration. They
can sense it in us, but they can t feel it. Because a friend has never gone through what is known as
coming out. This topic also strikes a chord in his gay audience, as coming out is a difficult and
terrifying process. He addresses other minority groups, asking indirectly for their sympathy and
assistance, alluding to the African American civil rights movement of the sixties, and the Latin
American culture s struggles. He references Anita Bryant, an outspoken right wing activist, and tells
his audiences not to fear her or believe her, for she is wrong in her assumptions about gay people. He
also talks of the event in San Francisco where a young man was killed for being gay, causing the
audience to sympathize and also create a sense of urgency for people to make a change. Furthermore,
Milk effectively fills his speech with logos, providing logistical arguments and reason. His major
goals are to persuade

The European Union Of The United Kingdom
David Cameron, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom in a speech wisely said that with courage and
conviction I believe we can deliver a more flexible, adaptable and open European Union in which the
interests and ambitions of all its members can be met . The courageous creation of cross national
organizations supersede the public opinions and negative comments regarding the union. Collective
combination of states sovereignties into a new entity is what revitalized the European economy after
the war. Understanding the past visionaries chimerical view of integration, political ties and peace are
the forefront to grasp the breadth of the European integration project. The impetus for change is
evident in the amount of states that joined the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The new vigor is evident in the seven enlargements and incredible growth of the union. As with any
decision, there have been distractions and setbacks, but the strength of the European Union is worth
more than each nation alone. The struggles with the unification are the innate and deep seeded
competition of each nations pasts. The nationalism of each country is still evident. Creating a proposal
for a union was due to the growing political tension. Audenauer believed a union of the two nations
[would] considerable raise the standard of living of both parts (Audenauer, 248). Unification would
create a better world for all nations involved, which the visionaries understood and pioneered for the
future of the European Union.
Political willingness to create a common sovereignty was a driving force in the conception and
survival of the European Union. The conception of the Council of Europe in 1949 sparked a drive in
nations to collaborate and create a new identity for Europe. The Schuman Plan in 1950 proposed by
Robert Schuman was a proposal for a single authority to control steel and coal production in the six
states which agreed to its invention. This plan prevented the creation of war weapons and decreased
the risk of any country turning on another. The creation of a flag for the union in 1955 with 12 stars
was another sign of unification of nations that promoted unity, solidarity and harmony.

Examples Of Diction In Night By Elie Wiesel
Night by Elie Wiesel is an autobiography about his experience during the Holocaust when he was
fifteen years old. Elie is fifteen when the tragedy begins. He is taken with his family through many
trials and then is separated from everyone besides his father. They are left with only each other, of
which they are able to confide in and look to for support. The story is told through a series of creative
writing practices. Mr. Wiesel uses strong diction, and syntax as well as a combination of stylistic
devices. This autobiography allows the readers to understand a personal, first hand account of the
terrible events of the holocaust. The ways that diction is used in Night helps with this understanding.

Never shall I forget that smoke.
Never shall I forget the small faces of the children whose bodies I saw transformed into smoke under a
silent sky.
Never shall I forget those flames that consumed my faith forever.
Never shall I forget those moments that murdered my God and my soul and turned my dreams into
ashes.Never shall I forget these things, even were I condemned to live as long as God himself.
Never. (page 34)
Elie Wiesel has experienced a horrible tragedy. When he repeatedly says over and over Never shall I
forget... he emphasizes his fear of what he has seen. He drills into the reader how traumatized he is.
This creates sympathy and makes the reader feel worse for Mr. Wiesel. Dramatic irony gives the
reader an advantage over the characters. This form of irony is where the reader knows something that
the characters do not. (Poor father! Of what then did you die?) (page 11) During this scene in the book
Elie s father has given the news to the other Jews that they are all required to wear the yellow star. His
father said The yellow star? So what? It s not lethal... (page 11) This is ironic because the star is what
killed nearly all of the Jewish people. Hate killed a countless number of innocent people because of
their beliefs. This is the dramatic Irony. Everything that Elie Wiesel uses to create his autobiography
makes it more that just a page taught

A Comparison Of Pablo Picasso And Zaha Hadid
Does one ever question what opposition to cultural trends can lead someone? What if they were to
question they type of success that could erupt from dislocating and distorting one s work into a brand
unique to no one but yourself? Pablo Picasso and Zaha Hadid were two of the most successful artists
within the modernist movement. Both Picasso and Hadid laid the foundation for their success with a
strong educational background. Each artist understood their sheer talent and works would not
contribute to their succession alone. Picasso and Hadid sought the importance of defining one s brand
on a global scale. Building a connection between a consumer and their product, both Picasso and
Hadid knew that their talent and business practices would allow them to convey themselves naturally
in a world immersed with commercialization. Their profound ability to know which patrons
(sponsors) to conduct business with, and proper distribution without flooding the market, allowed
Picasso and Hadid s work to stay in demand.
Born to on October 25, 1881 to Jose Ruiz Blaso, Pablo Picasso did not know that he would become
one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. Displaying an extraordinary talent for art at a
young age, Picasso s father (a professor of art) decided to mentor Picasso s passion for the lapiz. With
the death of his sister at age thirteen, his family moved to Barcelona, where his father took a position
in the School of Fine Arts. Pablo s father successfully

Access control is used in determining whether or not to grant or deny access to these resources or
services to an employee, group of employees or to an entire department. There are four commonly
used types of access control methods; however for a smaller company without many employees at this
point in time Discretionary Access Control (DAC) would be good starting point for ZXY Inc.
Discretionary access control allows the owner of the service or resource to determine who is granted
and who is denied access to certain resources. The owner of each resource and service will be given
full authority on granting and denying permissions over what they have ownership of. ZXY Inc. does
need to make sure that it does not make just one employee the owner of every resource and service.
This is done in order to make sure that one potential bad employee doesn t harm the entire company s
information security network with malicious acts. In regards to user accounts and passwords, a few
steps should be taken in order to safeguard company information and protect company data. Each
individual employee should be given a unique username that will be used as part of the employee s
network log on. Each unique username will then be used by the IT department and DAC owner s in
order to grant and/or deny permission s. By having unique user names for each employee, the owners

Opera Buffa Satire
Opera, as with any theatrical production is often indicative of some societal norm or expectation.
However, Opera Buffa, as with any satire generally reaches into the outcasts of society to find humor
in the contrasts with the norms . Interestingly, these comedic teachings often turn into the norms of
tomorrow. These can go from political beliefs, drugs, clothing, hairstyles, relationships, anything that
is different than expected. To help better explain this let us look at a modern example. I Love Lucy is a
television show that showed humor with a whacky wife expanding her horizons as she wandered into
a world mainly for men. It is true that women had been given the right to vote decades before but is
wasn t until the need for more female worker during World War II that women began to find their way
out of the home. It was the exploring of these boundaries that made part of the comedy.
We also find these explorations in Le Nozze di Figaro, a comedy that visited that day and reached for
the next. It was written in a time when serfdom and the aristocracy were becoming obsolete. In fact,
shortly after the writing of the production the Holy Roman Empire was no more. The age of
revolution was beginning as the United States found its way out of aristocracy. England and France
slowly began ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, some people credit Le Nozze di Figaro for starting the Revolution. While I do not believe that
Le Nozze di Figaro started the Revolution of the time, I do believe that Mozart emulated the world
and society around him to write his Opera Buffas, specifically Le Nozze di Figaro.
The play in which Mozart based his Opera on was called Le Marriage de Figaro written in 1778 by
Pierre Beaumarchais. The play was considered so racy and against the politics of the times that it was
banned from the Viennese stage by King Louis XVI. Mozart evidently studies Paisiello s handling of
the same personalities and included deliberate references to it. (Sadie 2000,

[a] Although the film is not explicit on this point, what seems to be driving Stephen Glass? As best as
you can tell, what are his life goals and aspirations? Did he truly know himself, including his own
strengths and weaknesses? I think what made Stephen Glass to fabricate half of his news articles was
his strive to make people around him feel excited in his presence and huger of the glory he was getting
from the fictional stories he was presenting one after another. But since one lie creates another,
eventually it got out of his control and he ended up partially or entirely fabricating 27 out of 41 of his

Why did they ultimately fail? One of the strategy was that he made up things like phone numbers, fake

Under the pressure, he failed to notice the website he created can only be accessed by the AOL users.
That brought up questions as to why would a large software organization do such thing, has one phone
line for the entire organization and many more question that he failed to provide an answer to Forbes

The Crusade Of The Children s Crusade
During the early 13th century, while the wars against he Albigensians were occurring, crusade
preaching became integral aspect of life in parts of Germany and northern France. On top of the
already present religious fervor the most of Europe had, these preachings drove people to act on their
devoutness to God. The Children s Crusade, which was a popular religious movement in Europe
during 1212, was a movement in which thousands of youth assembled and took crusading vows, their
objective was to recover the Holy Land, Jerusalem, from the Muslims. Lasting only a couple of
months, the Children s crusade didn t have Papal approval nor the materials needed to have a
successful crusade, and ultimately this youthful religious undertaking was a failure; none of the self
proclaimed crusaders ever made it to Jerusalem. Although the Children s crusade was not considered
an official crusade, the Children s crusade provides insight on how influential the call to crusade was
despite the dangers and challenges the journey posed to those who set out to recover the holy land in
the name of God.
Inspired by the penitential preaching s of Pope Innocent III in addition to the growing frustrations with
the failure of the previous crusades, the participants of the children s crusade believed that the poor of
Christ could achieve things by their pious righteousness that that the church prelates and secular lords
could not. Although they didn t have the resources that Nobel s had, multiple

The Abandonment Of Professional Autonomy
follow modern requirement in providing the same care. The abandonment of professional autonomy
could help to resolve some problem in compliance with health care regulations. In healthcare, the goal
of a provider is to treat patients and patient and the healthcare professional are pursuing one single
personal goal, which is treatment. Some medical providers are failing to follow policies or regulatory
requirement when providing care. They should be held account and must be required to follow
policies or procedures when providing care. Reduced autonomy on healthcare that is supported by
joint pressure, safety rules, and institutionalized safety methods that is standardized could force
provider to follow protocol. The strengthen approach to process improvement through focus on
quality care in the hospital and educating health care professionals on teamwork and strict regulations
can help reduced the autonomy of health care professionals. But the barrier of too much autonomy
cannot be overcome when teamwork is not extended across hospital wards or the departments. René
Amalberti, Yves Auroy, Don Berwick, and Paul Barach (2005) stated that the increase in pressure from
medical malpractice liability and media scrutiny is creating the need for system level decision. The
reason for this is that as systems reaches safer level of performance, the society seeks to hold people

Nazi Germany And The Nazi Party
Throughout Nazi Germany in the period 1928 through to 1941, racism was utilized by Hitler, and in
turn his Nazi party, firstly to secure Hitler s position as a dictator, and secondly to unite the German
people against a common enemy, which would lead to a united powerful state, ready and able to exert

purification and domination over Eastern Europe are made obvious before Hitler s assumption of
power, primarily in the racist crude writings of Mein Kampf, and even from Moellers Des drittes

achieving an oppressive state, he may certainly have desired it. Constantly, it is made obvious, through
his use of racism in both Domestic and foreign policy that Hitler s ultimate aim, was total power, both
for himself and his master race the Volksgeminschaft. Hitler s use of racism is continually evident
from the beginning of his comings to power, through till his attack on the Soviet Union in June of
1941. Racism, was initially used by Hitler to identify his sympathizers, and most predominant to unite

Thomas Middleton s A Chaste Maid Essay
Here Comes Our Gossips Now : Notions of Selfhood and Agency in
Thomas Middleton s A Chaste Maid in Cheapside In the third act of Thomas Middleton s A Chaste
Maid at Cheapside (1613), the audience is presented with the christening of the Allwit newborn. As
Mrs. Allwit s bed is brought onto the stage, the christening is attended by five gossips, two Puritan
women, Maudlin Yellowhammer, Mrs. Allwit s midwife, and a number of other women namely, the
majority of the play s eighteen female characters. However, the female characters are allowed to
dominate the stage only up to a point, as the christening scene is also witnessed by Allwit, whose sole
function in the scene is to comment on the events of the christening. It is through Allwit that the
audience learns that the women are overindulging in the food and wine served to them; he also alerts
us of the women s, to use Gail Kern Paster s euphemism, leaking. Most importantly, however, Allwit
becomes a mouthpiece of sorts for the social and cultural perceptions of these women.
While the christening scene has often received critical attention due to its portrayal of feminine excess
in its worst possible form, a more nuanced reading of the gossips role in this play is possible. Rather
than merely demonstrating the utter depravity of characters due to their gender and social rank, the
gossips conduct during the christening may be construed as a key point of rebellion against the
limitations of the patriarchal society

Assess the view that religion inevitably acts as a conservative force in society The main sociological
theories all believe religion acts as a conservative force in society in a sense that religion helps keep
things the way they are and keep everything stable. However some of these theories may be against
the idea that religion acts conservative force for their own reasons. For example Feminism believes
that religion acts as a conservative force nevertheless they are against it as they believe it oppresses
women by keeping women s status the same. Functionalists believe religion acts as a conservative

His interpretation of religion is more to do with psychological functions for the individual than
anything else, in a sense that religion is a psychological need for the individual to deal with certain
situations. For example situations which provoke anxiety, uncertainty and threatens social life may
result in the individual to turn to religion. In Malinowski s view, religion acts upon life crisis which
prevents anxiety. As a result, Malinowski agrees with the fact that religion acts as a conservative force
as it maintains stability by helping people to deal with anxiety, thereby stopping social disruption.
Marxist believe that religion acts inevitably as a conservative force because religion is an ideological
state apparatus which spreads capitalist ideas, thus maintains the social hierarchy, and in doing so
maintains harmony and consensus in society. This is reinforced by Marx who claims religion is the
opium of the people hence religion dulls the pain of oppression for them. Marx claims that religion is
still a conservative force as through the use of ideology it justifies the oppression of the proletariat e.g.
in the hymn rich man at his castle the poor man at his gate, god made them high and ordered their
estate . This suggests god created inequality; as a result

The Reaction Of The Alcohols
The alcohols 1 propanol and 2 pentanol were converted into alkyl halides through a certain series of
steps. The first step was reflux, and the purpose of reflux is to add energy to the solution and not lose
any solution to evaporation. This energy helps initiate the acid catalyzed dehydration reaction and also
promotes rearrangement. The next step was distillation, which functioned to separate liquids based on
boiling points. The distillation utilizes boiling points to separate the alkyl halide products from many
impurities that might exist. Reflux is the first step instead of distillation because refluxing allows the
reaction to progress. If distillation was performed first, separation would begin before the reaction was

For example, since the voltage adapter connected to the sand bath may not have been working
properly, inconsistent heating patterns could have proposed a problem during reflux. Also, a few extra
drops of water may have invaded the product while the flask was cooling in the ice bath during
distillation. Furthermore, it is possible that not all of the organic layer was drained out of the
separatory funnel during separation, and maybe the drying agent was not allowed enough time to
remove all of the water. Errors will always hinder the success of a reaction, which will greatly effect
the percent yield.
Infrared spectroscopy (IR) is a very useful tool that can read a molecule s functional groups from a
small sample. By monitoring the disappearance and appearance of certain groups, it is possible to
confirm wether compounds have formed. In this experiment, for example, the reactants are alcohols,
whose IRs will show a large and broad absorption around 3500 cm 1. These hydroxide groups are
eventually replaced during the reactions, and the final products will not contain any hydroxides.
Therefore, the IR of the products will not show the large and broad hydroxide absorption. Monitoring
the disappearance of the hydroxide stretch will allow the reaction progression to be monitored also.
The complete disappearance of this stretch will confirm that a new product has been formed.
However, IR

Located in a student residential area, Econo Lodge did not lend itself to drive by stopovers because of
its lack of landscaping, physical amenities etc.  Employee quality and their attitudes were low. 
Maintenance and housekeeping were not prepared to provide anything more than a barely acceptable
level of guest satisfaction.  The staff they inherited constantly attracted low life guests.  Which is

business corporations and travel writers were invited which resulted in many articles written in
newspapers and magazines.
Q2. How did they change the marketing mix to fit their new target market?
 They
targeted those people who would recognize and appreciate quality lodging and not those who were
seeking cheap sleep .  Inviting potential guests or individuals who might influence visitor hotel
selection to launch parties, swim parties, cocktail parties and other planned events.  Targeting
supportive hospitality businesses.  Packages that supported local businesses were developed.
Q3. Would you retain the Quality Inn flag? Explain your decision.
 Yes,
they should retain the Quality Inn flag as they have worked hard to remodel and reposition a declining
hotel and earned appreciation from the townspeople and also it helped the town and the
neighbourhood.  Also the hotel was a huge success. The planning and work of Andrea and Burt had
paid off.  There is a value in the flag and if they don t retain the flag then anyone else would acquire

Synopsis and Objectives
The proposed sale of Hershey Foods Corporation (HFC) during the summer of 2002 captured
headlines and imaginations. After all, Hershey was an American icon, and when the company s largest
shareholder, the Hershey Trust Company (HSY), asked HFC management to explore a sale, the story
drew national and international attention. The company s unusual governance structure put the
Hershey Trust s board in the difficult position of making both an economic and a governance decision.
On the one hand, the board faced a challenging economic decision that centered on determining
whether the solicited bids provided a fair premium for HFC ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

To facilitate the valuation aspect of the analysis, free cash flow forecasts are provided in case Exhibit
10 for Hershey as a stand alone entity. Most students should find it easy to calculate a value for
Hershey using the discounted cash flow (DCF) method and industry comparable multiples, which also
are provided. As with any valuation case, students must make judgments about the appropriate capital
structure, the weighted average cost of capital (WACC), sales growth, and the terminal growth rate.
Once students have explored the value drivers for Hershey though sensitivity analysis, they may then
evaluate the bids from both Nestlé S.A. Cadbury Schweppes PLC (NCS) and the Wm. Wrigley Jr.
Company. They will want to examine whether the bids are fair from the perspective of HFC
shareholders and whether the synergies assumed by the bidders in their offer prices are reasonable.
The instructor may vary the emphasis on different issues by altering the study questions and by the
choice of video clips. The case is well suited for courses and classes concerning corporate governance,
valuation, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate social responsibility. The following objectives of
the case allow students to:

How Should One Face Death Be Controlled By Humans
According to Epictetus, how should one face death both one s own death
and the death of people close to you? Compare and contrast this attitude
with the attitude of another figure we have studied in the course (e.g., Hector,
Achilles, Antigone, Socrates). Do you accept either of these attitudes? Why
In his handbook, Epictetus asserts that the gods created a perfectly just universe. Humans must align
their beliefs with the wills of the gods and acquiesce to whatever happens in the world. In order to live
a life of equanimity, Epictetus believes that people must understand that life is a fragile and temporary
gift from the gods and that death must be recognized as inevitable. In the Iliad, Hector and Achilles

Epictetus affirms that people must trust the gods judgment in establishing a well and just universe.
People must understand that death, like the rest of the universe s events, is a deliberate element of the
gods world. Therefore, people should want [events] to happen as they do happen, and [their] life will
go well (Epictetus, 13). When people shape their perception of death in accordance with the gods
wills, they are able to maintain equanimity. On the other hand, Epictetus argues, If [people] are averse
to illness or death or poverty, [they] will meet misfortune. So [people must] detach [their] aversion
from everything not up to [them] (Epictetus, 12). People must not dwell on uncontrollable courses of
events, like death, because it places their wills in opposition to the will of the gods, resulting in
suffering. However, when people accept that death is an intentional aspect of the gods immaculate set
up of the universe, they bring their wills in agreement with the gods wills and may live with
composure.
In addition, Epictetus argues that people must remember that human life in the gods well and just
universe is a transitory gift from the gods, which justifies its preordained revocation death. In other
words, as long as life is given to humans by the gods, people must take care of it as something that is

Pinochet Gender
Under the reign of Augusto Pinochet, Chile suffered extreme oppression culturally, socially,
politically, economically, and religiously. As a dictator in a military government, Pinochet shut down
the Chilean government, stifled political discourse, banned trade unions, and made Chile his own.
Over 3,000 political opponents disappeared during his rule, and the Chilean over arrested over 30,000,
torturing thousands. In response to the suffocating reign of Pinochet, Chilean citizens began to express
their culture and their identities through performance art and other means. Among these identities
being explored and expressed were those of gender: male, female, and other. Gender and gender
identity played significant roles during the reign of Pinochet through both theory and social change.
Under an oppressive government, it is often women and minorities, including homosexuals, that suffer
most. Thus, it is most likely that those who are suffering will speak out. The unforgettable queen and

In A Critique of Morgenthau s Principles of Political Realism, Ann J. Tickner argues that women are
gaining a larger role in the international realm and thus the influence of feminine factors changes the

common moral elements in de escalating conflict, and that politics is not autonomous. In this sense,
women tend to be a part of social change, cooperation, and peace. Thus, women play a role in national

in direct opposition to the male associated concepts of power and objectivity, both of which can be
connected to the reign of Pinochet over Chile. Therefore, women by nature were in opposition to

The Importance Of Drinking Water In Bangladesh
Introduction
Safe drinking water is essential for healthy life, and United Nations (UN) General Assembly declared
safe and clean drinking water as a human right essential to the full enjoyment of life [1]. Moreover,
the importance of water, sanitation and hygiene for health and development has been reflected in the
outcomes of a series of international policy forums [1]. These have also included health and water
oriented conferences, but most importantly in the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) adopted by
the General Assembly of the UN in 2000. The UN General Assembly declared the period from 2005 to
2015 as the International Decade for Action, Water for Life [1]. Access to safe drinking water is
important as a health and development issue at national, regional and local levels. Bangladesh, a
developing country from South Asian (SA) region also takes several steps for ensuring sanitation and
safe drinking water facilities among the people. As a result, Bangladesh has made great progress in
this sector. The government also claimed that it has achieved the MDG indicator of ensuring safe
drinking water for 85% people of the country. According to different demographic and health surveys,
the percentage of using improved sources of drinking water is about 98% (reported in the latest two
surveys Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys (MICS) 2012 13 and Bangladesh Demographic and Health
Survey (BDHS) 2014) [2,3]. But, this achievement statistics are overlooking the shortcomings.

Palm Oil Growth And Sustainability
Palm Oil Growth in Peru Slows as Land Suitability and Sustainability Take Top Priority
Palm is a tree crop suited to cultivation in climatic conditions similar to those of the tropical
rainforest. From 1999 to 2009, global production more than doubled. Thirty years ago, palm oil
accounted for less than 2 percent but now accounts for 37 percent of vegetable oil consumption
worldwide, and palm has displaced soy as the world s most important vegetable oil. Palm oil is used
as a biofuel, for cooking, and in a wide range of other items, including food products, cosmetics, soaps
and detergents.
Malaysia and Indonesia produce 85 percent of the world s palm oil. Expansion in these two countries
is expected to diminish by 2022, however, as land suitable for additional palm oil production
dwindles. As an alternative, developers are looking to other regions for expansion, including Latin
America. Estimates suggest that Peru has the second largest area potentially suitable for increased oil
palm production within this region.
Area Expansion
In 2003, the Peruvian government announced that the production of biofuels, including palm oil,
would be a priority. Before 2006, palm expansion in Peru was slow and occurred mainly on already
cleared land (mostly pastures and secondary growth forests, as opposed to old growth forests.)
Between 2006 and 2010, however, area doubled, and about 70 percent of all new palm plantations
during this time were established by old growth clearing.

Research Paper On Hades Underworld
Hades, Ruler of the Underworld Hades, meaning the unseen , was the god of the Underworld. He was
the son of Cronus and Rhea and had three sisters, Hera, Demeter, and Hestia, along with two brothers,
Zeus and Posedion. This was the family that made up the six original Olympian gods. The
Titanomachy was a ten year divine war between Titans and the Olympians. This war was fought to
determine which generation of gods would have rule over the universe. The war concluded with the
victory of the Olympians, subsequently the three brothers cast lost for the kingdoms. Posiedon took
over the seas, Zeus took over the sky, and Hades took over the infernal lands of the Underworld. The
Underworld, the realm in which the souls of the dead come to rest, is described as a very daunting
place. Many myths state that Hades was disappointed with his turnout but had no other choice than to
become ruler of the land. Hades is depicted as a very stern and cold ruler, but he was more or less
thought of as passive rather than evil. His primary focus was to ensure that no soul ever left the
Underworld. Alongside him was his wife and queen, Persephone, who he acquired at the behest of
Zeus by abducting her. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

power over the Fields of Asphodel he also was in control of the three judges who governed the land,
including King Minos, ruler of the heavens. While Hades was first in control of the Underworld he
also had power over the earth, though he was very rarely seen outside of his domain. The more souls
that entered the Underworld the stronger Hades became. Hades was deemed an enemy to life and was

The Parable Of The Kingdom Of God
We live in a world of pain and sorrow. We suffer every day from the sin of the world, but there is hope
in this hopeless world. The Kingdom of God is our hope and our happiness. Describe. The Kingdom
of God is here and it is coming. It is within you and always there. The Kingdom of God is coming but
only through Jesus Christ. In Matthew 13 there are different parables that explain the Kingdom of God
through an ordinary story. In the parable of the Sower and the Seed, it paints a picture about how not
all will receive the Kingdom of God. The parable of the weeds shows that good and evil coexist in the
Kingdom of God. In the parable of the mustard seed, it talks about how the Kingdom of God is still
growing and will continue growing. In the parable of the fishnet, it explains that in the end the good
will make it to the Kingdom of God, but those who are bad or evil will be thrown away. The Kingdom
of God is many things. In our lifetime, we seem to get glimpses of the Kingdom of God in the things
that we do. These glimpses are described as fully alive moments. Every fully alive moment is different
for every person. One of those moments could be praising God in song in church or in chapel. That
moment you are seeing and you feel the Holy Spirit is there and it makes you feel so warm and fuzzy
inside. Other moments are, mission trips or YU trips when we see the power of God in what we do for
that week. These little glimpses of the Kingdom of God make us excited to

Louis Armstrong was the greatest of all Jazz musicians. Armstrong defined what it was to play Jazz.
His amazing technical abilities, the joy and spontaneity, and amazingly quick, inventive musical mind

1932 he returned to California, before leaving for England where he was a great success. For the next

Disadvantages Of Value Engineering
Value engineering is not just about reducing costs. The concept of value analysis came into being
during World War II at General Electrical crop. people were struggling to produce badly needed
products when faced with shortfalls of everything like, raw materials, skilled labor and all kinds. A
team of engineers, led by Larry Miles, was forced to find authoritative substitutes. While substitutes to
reduce costs, they found that in many cases, the product is also improved. Since then, the incident
became a party to a structured process. Value Engineering aims to ensure that the client gets full value

  • 2. Summary Of Rock And Roll Unplugged Rock and Roll Unplugged In the article Rock and Roll Unplugged , the author talks about the significance and influence that African music and culture has on American and European culture. It opens with the origin of rock and roll coming from the African blues and explains how rock and roll is very popular in mainstream America. But many people are unaware that rock and roll and many other popular genres of music such as soul, funk, punk, disco, rap and hip hop are all an extension of African culture. The modification of Christian music that is present in African American churches is a result of the African slaves incorporating African culture, dance, and music into the traditional Christian music. • 3. Informative Essay On Pocahontas Pocahontas is a famous figure in Native American history. Almost everyone knows her from the movie, Pocahontas. However, her story portrayed in the Disney film does not give accurate information about her life. Born in Werowocomoco, Virginia around 1596, Pocahontas was born to Powhatan, who was the paramount chief of the Powhatan Chiefdom (www.nps.gov). There weren t any written documents about Pocahontas mother, but some historians believe that she may have died after giving birth to her (www.nps.gov). Pocahontas is actually a nickname meaning naughty one and her birth name was Mataoka (www.ancient orgins.net). As a child, Pocahontas could ve lived a more privileged childhood, but she had to learn how to become an adult woman. So she hardly wore any clothing and she had her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But, there was never love between the two. In May 1607, the English settled in Jamestown and Pocahontas and Powhatan wouldn t meet with them. Pocahontas was 11 years old. When it was winter, Opechancanough, Powhatan s brother, captured John Smith and brought him to Powhatan. They were planning to execute John Smith, but right when his head was about to get smashed by a club, Pocahontas quickly placed her head against his, stopping the entire execution (www.nps.gov). Historians argue about if this event happened or not because some believe that instead of an execution, there was a ceremony and others believe that John Smith s life was never in danger. Nonetheless, Pocahontas told John Smith that he was now a part of the tribe (www.nps.gov). The Powhatan Indians, a group of thirty Algonquian speaking tribes, which Pocahontas belonged to, had a great relationship with the English. In 1608 1609, the English wanted to trade some items with the Powhatan Indians, however, negotiations did not work. The relationship between the English and the Powhatan Indians abolished and Pocahontas wasn t allowed to visit Jamestown. But, that didn t stop her from keeping in touch with the English ... • 4. The Synthesis And Processing Of Ceramics And Ceramic... INTRODUCTION | 1 Polymer derived ceramics (PDC) were first introduced over thirty years ago, and are a fundamental material in high demand today. Over the years, these materials have been heavily studied to better understand how to manufacture them and determine their desired properties. Such materials include coatings, ceramic fivers, and ceramics containing properties that allow them to have high stability at high temperatures. Desired properties of PDC typically include high resistance to decomposition, phase separation, crystallization, high chemical durability, semi conductivity, and creep. [4] This paper will discuss the synthesis and processing of ceramics and ceramic composites using soft materials such as pre ceramic polymers. The potential for materials for a large variety of applications in harsh environments, pertaining mainly to the mechanical properties of PDCs, will also be discussed. PROCESSING TECHNOLOGIES | 2 There are three basic steps in order to process PDC. These include synthesis of preceramic from a specific monomer, crosslinking of polymers at low temperatures which allow for networks to form, and finally ceramization by pyrolysis. Some of the most common monomers which can be used consist of polysilanes, polycarbosilanes, polysiloxanes, polysilazanes, and polysilylcarbodiimides. There are several procedures in order to attain these figure 18.1 indicates some of the methods of creating some preceramics through various methods outlined [1]. Figure: ... • 6. Informative Study Of Gender Roles In Children A very informative article on the study of the gender roles children feel stressed to conform to. The article provides insights in how children interpret each other s masculine and feminine behaviors. When children are informed of how each gender feels the same, it relieves the pressure, thereby allowing the children to be more at ease with one another and exhibit their true behaviors. The stereotype of gender roles produces health risks such as eating disorders and low level bullying. The Department Of Defense And Defense The Department of Defense is one of the oldest executive departments of the executive branches in the United States of America and is in control of national security and the Armed Forces of the United States. More than 3 million employees embody the Department of Defense and control it s day to day operations and is well funded with a budget of $680 billion thanks to a bill that passed 68 29 in 2010 . Under the Secretary of Defense there is a very powerful Chief Information Officer of the Department of Defense, Teri Takai. Teri is responsible for developing strategic plans and to align with the department s mission and the mission of the United States. The CIO of the Department of Defense interested me because of the decisions having to be made affect so many users. Every decision Teri makes has to be spot on and has to take in consideration, how it will hurt or benefit other departments or national security. The goal of the CIO is to unify the information management and to advance the technology vision of the department. The implementation of 10 Point Plan for IT Modernization began as Teri s big initiative to upgrade the information technology infrastructure. An assessment on typical IT infrastructures we look at the organization, technological, and the strategy overall. • 8. Children Of God Through Faith Beginning in 3:26, the NIV and NRSV translates, for you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. Here the word children translates in the Greek, téknon which means a child, descendant, inhabitant. Téknon properly, a child; (figuratively) anyone living in full dependence on the heavenly Father, i.e. fully (willingly) relying upon the Lord in glad submission. This prompts God to transform them into His likeness. The NKJV translates, for you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. This word son translates in the Greek, hyiós. It emphasizes likeness of the believer to the heavenly Father, i.e. resembling His character more and more by living in faith. The choice of the word son may be in part because during biblical times a son was considered the inheritor of land, property, and family wealth. Daughters were not typically ones to inherit anything. Further, each of the three translations uses the word all . The word all in the Greek translates, pas . Pás ( each, every ) means all in the sense of each (every) part that applies. The emphasis of the total picture then is on one piece at a time. By all it is not excluding anyone or singling out one group of people (as described in 3:28). Cultural Background In Judaism circumcision is performed on the eight day of the male child s life in accordance with God s command and as a sign of the covenant between God and the descendants of Abraham. • 9. The Rhetorical Analysis Of The Hope Speech By Harvey Milk Homosexual people have been misrepresented and refuted their basic civil rights in America over the years, especially during the late 1970s. During this time, Harvey Milk, the first openly gay elected official in California, was one of the most prominent spokesman on the issues surrounding gay rights. In 1978 he gave a speech impacting the gay citizens of San Francisco and America, the anti gay right wing movement supporters, straight allies of the gay movement, and politicians in general. His speech known as the Hope Speech resonates with people even today as Milk attempted to address gay rights and the importance of electing gay officials in office, using various rhetorical strategies such as pathos, logos, and elevated diction. As a skilled speaker, Milk bridged the gap between the majority of his audience who were not too familiar with homosexuality and those who were. In his speech he uses pathos to persuade people to join or at least sympathize with his cause, logos to provide a logistical argument with reason, and ethos to increase credibility. Throughout the speech Milk uses pathos to connect emotionally to the different audiences he is addressing. To his straight allies, he proclaims that an ally can not be elected to represent gays because friends can t feel the anger and frustration. They can sense it in us, but they can t feel it. Because a friend has never gone through what is known as coming out. This topic also strikes a chord in his gay audience, as coming out is a difficult and terrifying process. He addresses other minority groups, asking indirectly for their sympathy and assistance, alluding to the African American civil rights movement of the sixties, and the Latin American culture s struggles. He references Anita Bryant, an outspoken right wing activist, and tells his audiences not to fear her or believe her, for she is wrong in her assumptions about gay people. He also talks of the event in San Francisco where a young man was killed for being gay, causing the audience to sympathize and also create a sense of urgency for people to make a change. Furthermore, Milk effectively fills his speech with logos, providing logistical arguments and reason. His major goals are to persuade ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The courageous creation of cross national organizations supersede the public opinions and negative comments regarding the union. Collective combination of states sovereignties into a new entity is what revitalized the European economy after the war. The new vigor is evident in the seven enlargements and incredible growth of the union. As with any decision, there have been distractions and setbacks, but the strength of the European Union is worth more than each nation alone. The struggles with the unification are the innate and deep seeded competition of each nations pasts. The nationalism of each country is still evident. Creating a proposal for a union was due to the growing political tension. Audenauer believed a union of the two nations [would] considerable raise the standard of living of both parts (Audenauer, 248). Unification would create a better world for all nations involved, which the visionaries understood and pioneered for the future of the European Union. Political willingness to create a common sovereignty was a driving force in the conception and survival of the European Union. The conception of the Council of Europe in 1949 sparked a drive in nations to collaborate and create a new identity for Europe. The Schuman Plan in 1950 proposed by Robert Schuman was a proposal for a single authority to control steel and coal production in the six states which agreed to its invention. This plan prevented the creation of war weapons and decreased the risk of any country turning on another. The creation of a flag for the union in 1955 with 12 stars was another sign of unification of nations that promoted unity, solidarity and harmony. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What if they were to question they type of success that could erupt from dislocating and distorting one s work into a brand unique to no one but yourself? Pablo Picasso and Zaha Hadid were two of the most successful artists within the modernist movement. Both Picasso and Hadid laid the foundation for their success with a strong educational background. Each artist understood their sheer talent and works would not contribute to their succession alone. Picasso and Hadid sought the importance of defining one s brand on a global scale. Building a connection between a consumer and their product, both Picasso and Hadid knew that their talent and business practices would allow them to convey themselves naturally in a world immersed with commercialization. Their profound ability to know which patrons (sponsors) to conduct business with, and proper distribution without flooding the market, allowed Picasso and Hadid s work to stay in demand. Born to on October 25, 1881 to Jose Ruiz Blaso, Pablo Picasso did not know that he would become one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. The Crusade Of The Children s Crusade During the early 13th century, while the wars against he Albigensians were occurring, crusade preaching became integral aspect of life in parts of Germany and northern France. On top of the already present religious fervor the most of Europe had, these preachings drove people to act on their devoutness to God. The Children s Crusade, which was a popular religious movement in Europe during 1212, was a movement in which thousands of youth assembled and took crusading vows, their objective was to recover the Holy Land, Jerusalem, from the Muslims. Lasting only a couple of months, the Children s crusade didn t have Papal approval nor the materials needed to have a successful crusade, and ultimately this youthful religious undertaking was a failure; none of the self proclaimed crusaders ever made it to Jerusalem. Some medical providers are failing to follow policies or regulatory requirement when providing care. As Mrs. Allwit s bed is brought onto the stage, the christening is attended by five gossips, two Puritan women, Maudlin Yellowhammer, Mrs. Allwit s midwife, and a number of other women namely, the majority of the play s eighteen female characters. However, the female characters are allowed to dominate the stage only up to a point, as the christening scene is also witnessed by Allwit, whose sole function in the scene is to comment on the events of the christening. It is through Allwit that the audience learns that the women are overindulging in the food and wine served to them; he also alerts us of the women s, to use Gail Kern Paster s euphemism, leaking. Most importantly, however, Allwit becomes a mouthpiece of sorts for the social and cultural perceptions of these women. While the christening scene has often received critical attention due to its portrayal of feminine excess in its worst possible form, a more nuanced reading of the gossips role in this play is possible. Why In his handbook, Epictetus asserts that the gods created a perfectly just universe. Humans must align their beliefs with the wills of the gods and acquiesce to whatever happens in the world. In order to live a life of equanimity, Epictetus believes that people must understand that life is a fragile and temporary gift from the gods and that death must be recognized as inevitable. In the Iliad, Hector and Achilles attitudes to death ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Epictetus affirms that people must trust the gods judgment in establishing a well and just universe. People must understand that death, like the rest of the universe s events, is a deliberate element of the gods world. Therefore, people should want [events] to happen as they do happen, and [their] life will go well (Epictetus, 13). When people shape their perception of death in accordance with the gods wills, they are able to maintain equanimity. On the other hand, Epictetus argues, If [people] are averse to illness or death or poverty, [they] will meet misfortune. So [people must] detach [their] aversion from everything not up to [them] (Epictetus, 12). People must not dwell on uncontrollable courses of events, like death, because it places their wills in opposition to the will of the gods, resulting in suffering. However, when people accept that death is an intentional aspect of the gods immaculate set up of the universe, they bring their wills in agreement with the gods wills and may live with composure. In addition, Epictetus argues that people must remember that human life in the gods well and just universe is a transitory gift from the gods, which justifies its preordained revocation death. In other words, as long as life is given to humans by the gods, people must take care of it as something that is not [their] own, just as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Pinochet Gender Under the reign of Augusto Pinochet, Chile suffered extreme oppression culturally, socially, politically, economically, and religiously. As a dictator in a military government, Pinochet shut down the Chilean government, stifled political discourse, banned trade unions, and made Chile his own. Over 3,000 political opponents disappeared during his rule, and the Chilean over arrested over 30,000, torturing thousands. In response to the suffocating reign of Pinochet, Chilean citizens began to express their culture and their identities through performance art and other means. Among these identities being explored and expressed were those of gender: male, female, and other. Gender and gender identity played significant roles during the reign of Pinochet through both theory and social change. Under an oppressive government, it is often women and minorities, including homosexuals, that suffer most. Thus, it is most likely that those who are suffering will speak out. Tickner argues that women are gaining a larger role in the international realm and thus the influence of feminine factors changes the way politics is conducted. According to the feminist perspective, women believe in dynamic objectivity, contextual national interests, collective empowerment, moral significance in politics, common moral elements in de escalating conflict, and that politics is not autonomous. In this sense, women tend to be a part of social change, cooperation, and peace. Thus, women play a role in national and international politics and life by promoting coexistence, cooperation, and peace. This theory goes in direct opposition to the male associated concepts of power and objectivity, both of which can be connected to the reign of Pinochet over Chile. • 33. The Importance Of Drinking Water In Bangladesh Introduction Safe drinking water is essential for healthy life, and United Nations (UN) General Assembly declared safe and clean drinking water as a human right essential to the full enjoyment of life [1]. Moreover, the importance of water, sanitation and hygiene for health and development has been reflected in the outcomes of a series of international policy forums [1]. These have also included health and water oriented conferences, but most importantly in the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) adopted by the General Assembly of the UN in 2000. The UN General Assembly declared the period from 2005 to 2015 as the International Decade for Action, Water for Life [1]. Access to safe drinking water is important as a health and development issue at national, regional and local levels. Bangladesh, a developing country from South Asian (SA) region also takes several steps for ensuring sanitation and safe drinking water facilities among the people. As a result, Bangladesh has made great progress in this sector. The government also claimed that it has achieved the MDG indicator of ensuring safe drinking water for 85% people of the country. According to different demographic and health surveys, the percentage of using improved sources of drinking water is about 98% (reported in the latest two surveys Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys (MICS) 2012 13 and Bangladesh Demographic and Health Survey (BDHS) 2014) [2,3]. But, this achievement statistics are overlooking the shortcomings. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Palm Oil Growth And Sustainability Palm Oil Growth in Peru Slows as Land Suitability and Sustainability Take Top Priority Palm is a tree crop suited to cultivation in climatic conditions similar to those of the tropical rainforest. From 1999 to 2009, global production more than doubled. Thirty years ago, palm oil accounted for less than 2 percent but now accounts for 37 percent of vegetable oil consumption worldwide, and palm has displaced soy as the world s most important vegetable oil. Palm oil is used as a biofuel, for cooking, and in a wide range of other items, including food products, cosmetics, soaps and detergents. Malaysia and Indonesia produce 85 percent of the world s palm oil. Expansion in these two countries is expected to diminish by 2022, however, as land suitable for additional palm oil production dwindles. As an alternative, developers are looking to other regions for expansion, including Latin America. Estimates suggest that Peru has the second largest area potentially suitable for increased oil palm production within this region. Area Expansion In 2003, the Peruvian government announced that the production of biofuels, including palm oil, would be a priority. Before 2006, palm expansion in Peru was slow and occurred mainly on already cleared land (mostly pastures and secondary growth forests, as opposed to old growth forests.) Between 2006 and 2010, however, area doubled, and about 70 percent of all new palm plantations during this time were established by old growth clearing. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many myths state that Hades was disappointed with his turnout but had no other choice than to become ruler of the land. Hades is depicted as a very stern and cold ruler, but he was more or less thought of as passive rather than evil. His primary focus was to ensure that no soul ever left the Underworld. Alongside him was his wife and queen, Persephone, who he acquired at the behest of Zeus by abducting her. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He was a very persistent and determined leader. • 36. The Parable Of The Kingdom Of God We live in a world of pain and sorrow. We suffer every day from the sin of the world, but there is hope in this hopeless world. The Kingdom of God is our hope and our happiness. Describe. The Kingdom of God is here and it is coming. It is within you and always there. The Kingdom of God is coming but only through Jesus Christ. In Matthew 13 there are different parables that explain the Kingdom of God through an ordinary story. In the parable of the Sower and the Seed, it paints a picture about how not all will receive the Kingdom of God. The parable of the weeds shows that good and evil coexist in the Kingdom of God. In the parable of the mustard seed, it talks about how the Kingdom of God is still growing and will continue growing. In the parable of the fishnet, it explains that in the end the good will make it to the Kingdom of God, but those who are bad or evil will be thrown away. The Kingdom of God is many things. In our lifetime, we seem to get glimpses of the Kingdom of God in the things that we do. These glimpses are described as fully alive moments. Every fully alive moment is different for every person. One of those moments could be praising God in song in church or in chapel. That moment you are seeing and you feel the Holy Spirit is there and it makes you feel so warm and fuzzy inside. Other moments are, mission trips or YU trips when we see the power of God in what we do for that week. These little glimpses of the Kingdom of God make us excited to ... • 37. Importance of Louis Armstrong Louis Armstrong Louis Armstrong was the greatest of all Jazz musicians. Armstrong defined what it was to play Jazz. His amazing technical abilities, the joy and spontaneity, and amazingly quick, inventive musical mind still dominate Jazz to this day. Only Charlie Parker comes close to having as much influence on the history of Jazz as Louis Armstrong did. Like almost all early Jazz musicians, Louis was from New Orleans. He was from a very poor family and was sent to reform school when he was twelve after firing a gun in the air on New Year s Eve. At the school he learned to play cornet. After being released at age fourteen, he worked selling papers, unloading boats, and selling coal from a cart. He didn t own an instrument at this time, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He crisscrossed the U.S. dozens of times and returned to Europe playing in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Holland and England. In 1935 he returned to the U.S. and hired Joe Glaser to be his manager. He had known Glaser when he was the manager of the Sunset Cafe in Chicago in the 1920s. Glaser was allegedly connected to the Al Capone mob, but proved to be a great manager and friend for Louis. Glaser remained Armstrong s manager until his death in 1969. Glaser took care of the business end of things, leaving Armstrong free to concentrate on his music. The concept of value analysis came into being during World War II at General Electrical crop. people were struggling to produce badly needed products when faced with shortfalls of everything like, raw materials, skilled labor and all kinds. A team of engineers, led by Larry Miles, was forced to find authoritative substitutes. While substitutes to reduce costs, they found that in many cases, the product is also improved. Since then, the incident became a party to a structured process. Value Engineering aims to ensure that the client gets full value for every money spent on the project.
