Yellow Badge Of Hope
The Yellow Badge of Hope
It is the yellow Star of David that was unjustly desecrated. Once proud believers were segregated
by these identifying badges. It is the badge of hatred, the badge that stigmatized and humiliated the
Jews. It is the badge that facilitated deportation and marked the first steps of dehumanization.
However, it is the same yellow star that not only represented the Jewish community but was seen to
represent hope and faith in God. The meaning of this star shall not remain wrongfully changed by
the hands of the oppressors but instead shall be the hope in every Holocaust survivor, including that
of Baruch Goldstein.
The pain is painted across his face, as feelings of fear and sorrow resurface when trying to relive the

Probate Process Analysis
The process of probate involves proving the validity and legitimacy of a will. This only happens
after someone dies and an interested party files the will with the local probate court. The court
reviews the will and decides whether it is valid or not. That is probate in simplest form. But,
often probate is not so simple. Admitting the Will for Probate The first step to the probate process
is admitting the will. In Texas, this is done by submitting an application for probate with the
probate court. The person filing the application can be a spouse, a child, a parent, or any other
person named in the will. There is only a limited period between the time the person dies and the
time the will can be admitted to the probate court. The courts

Christianity And Christianity Of Christianity
Being some of the biggest religions in the world today, Christianity and Catholicism are considered
to be symbols of stability, comfort, and security because of its strong faith. This, however, has not
always been true. Over the course of hundreds of thousands of years, Christianity and Catholicism
have gone through tremendous changes through different major events in history. Ranging from the
Council of Nicaea the early church community prior to 1054 to the Spanish Colonization of the
New World prior to 1900 to the Second Vatican Council after 1900 all of these events created
waves of change in these religions and helped form them into what they are today. At the dawn of
Christianity, many differing beliefs existed. Small factions, without leadership, practiced their own
interpretations of their faith. Due to its nature as a persecuted religion, it was difficult for the early
church to establish a semblance of leadership. After Constantine s legalization and implementation
of Christianity in 313 A.D., it became clear that Catholics needed to consolidate their beliefs. This
wasn t accomplished until 325 A.D. when the Council of Nicaea was convened. There were many
motivations for holding the council, including: the deliberation on the nature of God and Jesus
Christ and what it meant to be Christian among others. The Council of Nicaea was a very important
meeting where 300 bishops from across the Roman Empiremet to discuss different administrative
and theological

3. a. What is the difference between peril and hazard?
A peril is something that can cause a loss. Examples include falling, crashing your car, fire, wind,
hail, lightning, water, volcanic eruptions, choking, or falling objects. A hazard is any condition or
situation that makes it more likely that a peril will occur. Hazards include: * physical hazards, like
ice on the sidewalks, smoking, or skydiving; * moral hazards (most of which are avoidable), like
dishonesty (such as burning down the warehouse when your company goes bankrupt to collect
insurance money or buying insurance on someone with yourself as beneficiary and then killing
them); and * morale hazards, like a careless attitude since insurance will pay ... Show more content

Difference in twins and clones
From the very beginning of evolution, human beings have been developing themselves rapidly in
physical and mental aspects. With every successful evolutionary era, human beings are found to
be somewhat alike to their ancestor. Birth of twins is always a matter of great curiosity in world.
Many are amazed with this fact of twining. The fact that contrasts offspring s being alike to their
ancestor is a genetic carrier called DNA. DNA is a double helical structure that is composed of
genetic material called chromosomes. Chromosomes found in human body cells are equal in
number in each cell and are formed after the cell division and condensation of DNA (charlotte 3).
With growing technology and scientific progress artificial twining called cloning is also made
possible. But, Identical twins made from biological parents are incomparable to the clones made
from a genetic host.
Genetic material called Chromosomes carry genetic material from springs to spring with slight
variation. During birth unusual division of chromosome can give birth to twins. Twins can be of
two types identical twins and fraternal twins. Identical twins look alike but fraternal twins do not.
Twining is a biological process. There is another artificial process of making twins that is cloning,
which results same as twining. Usually by definition, clones are living organism that has placed
themselves in a different

No One Ever Became Poor By Giving By Anne Frank
A Helping Hand
No one ever became poor by giving, a quote by Anne Frank. My Uncle Shawn did not have the
life we all expect growing up. He lived in a bad part of Los Angeles with 13 brothers and sisters
in a small apartment. His Father died before he was born and his mother died shortly after. He
lived in group homes almost his entire childhood and due to a series of unfortunate minor events
went to jail. You might expect him to be hostile or even dangerous but, it is quite the contrary. If
you met him you would never suspect he had a rough childhood.
My Uncle Shawn is always dressed with a hefty smile and has a positive attitude. Also, he will

who was in a stained white shirt with a red torn jacket and and a pair of black sweatpants. Hi, my

Hi, my name is Jeff, he replied.
So what happened, how come you don t have a home? I asked Jeff.
Well, my mom passed away a year ago and then I got laid off my job. I couldn t afford the mortgage

Oh, thank you so much! You don t know what this means for me. Said Jeff. At that moment I got

How Did Charles II Impact The English Bill Of Rights
The provisions of the English Bill of Rights provided protection against past actions taken by
Charles I and James II. The provisions of the English Bill of rights influenced future
governments, such as the United States of America. In other words, the English Bill of Rights
helped create the world we live in today. Charles I defaulted on the agreement of martial law
because of its limitations on royal power. He decided that since he could not work with
Parliament, Charles would not summon to meet. Charles I pursued a course of personal rule,
which would force him to find ways to collect taxes without cooperation of Parliament. His
religious policy was catastrophic. After eleven years of frustration, Parliament became determined
to deal the king his due. They decided that the king had gone too far, and Englandslipped into civil
war. Parliament was victorious in the first phase of the civil war. In the end, Parliament ended the
first phase of the civil war with the capture of King Charles I.... Show more content on

Over the next century, Parliament gradually proved to be the real authority in the English

technology and fun. High school students work in teams to design robots and complete
complicated tasks under strict regulations in just six weeks. The competition offers a taste of real
world engineering as students are challenged to build a team and brand, enhance teamwork skills,
raise funds, build and program a robot, form strategic alliances and compete against tough
competition.

tie and was decided by a mere five penalty points. Though the Swartdogs didn t win the regional
title this year, they are an incredibly successful team. In their 18 year history they have been
regional winners 12 times and received numerous team awards. This year, the Swartdogs won the
Creativity Award sponsored by Xerox, won their second Volunteer of the Year award and their fifth

The last semifinal match was truly a show stopper. The two alliances were so determined to make
it into the final match that they tied their semifinal match six times! When a tie takes place there
are certain point categories with more weight to decide the winner. However, the alliances were
fighting so hard that their scores were identical six times in a row. This semifinal wowed the judges

The Overcrowding of Prisons Essays
According to Mark Early, president of the Prison Fellowship International, the Bureau of Justice
Statistics report shows that there are 19 states that have prisons operating at 100 percent capacity
and another 20 are falling right behind them. There is no wonder why the overcrowding of
prisons is being discussed everywhere. Not to mention how serious this predicament is and how
serious it can get. Many of the United States citizens don t understand why this is such a serious
matter due to the fact that some of them believe it s not their problem. Therefore they just don t
care about it. Also, some Americans may say that they don t care about what could happen to the
inmates due to repercussions of overcrowding, because it s their own... Show more content on

That was two years ago and the prison population have continued to grow since then, so can you
imagine what it is now? Now, think of what the prisoners have to go through. Andrea Caumont
shared some of the problems prisoners are having, because of prison overcrowding. She says that
in California the United States Supreme Court told the state to reduce its prison population,
because overcrowded conditions are amounting to cruel and unusual punishment. Can you imagine
what must be happening for the Supreme Court to rule it as cruel and unusual punishment? Not
only are they being punished cruelly, the prisoners are also losing their opportunities to
participate in the prisons self improvement programs and the vocational training, because there is
less of everything to go around. Therefore all resources, even food, are being stretched to the max.
(John Howard goes into more detail on this issue in his paper The Effects of Prison Overcrowding
on the P.A.T.R.I.C.K Crusade website.) The prisoners are not the only ones being affected by this
problem, this problem is affecting everyone.
The overcrowding of prisons can date back to the 1850 s, when they imprisoned debtors, delinquent
juveniles, minor misdemeanants and felons all together with no separation. The King Edwards
Public School students created their own website

Essay On Scapegoat
Have you ever heard of a scapegoat? Most of us have used one or one s to get out of something,
that meaning good or bad. People in the past have also used someone or something as a
scapegoat(The salem witch trials the townspeople blamed witches and the devil for their bad
crops, The people to the New World blamed the indians for them dieing off by not knowing how to
live off the land, even people today blametheir siblings to get out of their punishments/chores, etc.)
My scapegoat on the other hand is my white, fuzz ball of a cat or other animals, and nature. Me

I had to grow up faster than what my siblings are required to, due to I am expected to have more
responsibilities, be more responsible, be the good influence, and something they look up to.
Having those scapegoats is another thing that make me the person I am today, I can look at
things deeper than others. I can look at something different then what someone else sees, when
they see a disaster, I see potential. By my parents keeping me home all the time allows me to see
that they are just trying to help and show me what I need to expect in the future. They are giving
me a heads up and just trying to help even if it sucks some of the time. There is plenty of
negatives for being the eldest but there is just as many positives. I can sit back and watch other
people s mistakes and learn off of those. I can have a mud wrestling match in the front yard with
my brother. I can get to know my siblings better and become more close with them even if they
don t like me sometimes because I have to be the bigger person and tell them no when something
isn t right.
Like I said before, yes my cat is my scapegoat and yes I do talk to him. I am the eldest child and yes
it does suck at some points but it does have it s advantages. Those things are what makes me the
person I am today. That is a part of my personal

Indian Gaming Reservation Pros And Cons
Pros and Cons of gaming and tourism in Indian reservations Indian Reservation has been
participative in gaming ever since time memorial. However, participating rate rose rapidly in
1980 s when a land mark legal case approved the natives to choose gaming as a source of
economy, revenue and employment. It is these litigations that opened the avenues for the tribes
to engage in gaming activities. It is often believed by the general majority that Indian
reservations possess huge amount of money generally because of gaming. However, according
to Miller J. (2012), he doesn t agree with the general majority. Although he doesn t dispute that
Indian gaming is single largest source of annual revenues, Miller argues not all the reservations
in Indian have gaming facilities. Most dominant facilities of gaming are casinos. Gaming is

How Organizations Can Move Beyond The First Steps Of...
ABSTRACT
Change is best carried through by the many, not by just the hero leader. Ten challenges to the
initiation and sustaining of change are elaborated, illustrated by a rich range of case studies and
supported by a practical checklist.
We all know that change and innovation are of the essence for organisations today and in future.
The bad news, according to Peter Senge, is that most change initiatives fail. The good news is that
Senge and his co authors think they know why and what to do about it.
Senge is the guru of the learning organisation whose previous book The Fifth Discipline was hailed
as a groundbreaking book about organisational transformation. Senge and his co authors, all of
them change experts, call this new book a Fifth Discipline resource . The aim of the book is to
show how organisations can move beyond the first steps of corporate change and sustain the
momentum.
The problems that cause the failure of change projects cannot be solved by more expert advice,
better consultants or more committed managers, say Senge and co. They stem from our most basic
ways of thinking. Unless these change, new initiatives will only produce the same unproductive
types of action. The fundamental problem is that most change initiatives deal only with growth
processes and not with the limiting processes. We need to change our way of thinking so that we
can understand the forces that impede progress and develop strategies for dealing with them.

Second Punic War Essay
The outcome of the second Punic War turned Rome into the single most powerful force in the
western Mediterranean. Indirectly, it also forced Rome to grow politically and militarily as it
learned to deal with acquisitions and powerful opponents beyond the Italian peninsula.
Direct Consequence of the Second Punic War (218 201)
(Morey, 1901a, Par. Battle of Zama and End of the War)
1. Carthage became a dependent state, loosing it s right to declare war without permission of Rome.
2. Carthage lost all lands in Spain, and was split up into the two Roman provinces of Hither and
Farther Spain which was then governed by a Roman praetor.
3. Carthage lost claim to all Mediterranean islands between Carthage and Italy.
4. Carthage was saddled with tribute of 200 talents payable for fifty fifty.
5. Masinissa was recognized as King of Numidia, and became a staunch ally of Rome.
6. Syracuse lost it s independence, and became a part of the Sicilian province.
Indirect Impacts of the War

and changed the Roman Strategies by attacking Carthage directly, thus forcing Hannibal (an

later spawn a revolt in Sicily (Morey, 1901a, Par. The Servile War in Sicily). Finally, a pattern of

Organic Food Is Better Than Conventional Food
Organic food is a current topic in today s healthful world. There are different sides to the organic
food argument. One is that organic food is much better than conventional food. The other is that
conventional food is just as good as organic and more for your dollar. To some families organic
food is more then they can afford because of the extra work that is required to grow it. People say
that organic foodis better because it has no chemicals or fertilizer in it but that is not true because
they do put fertilizer on it just natural fertilizer that is certified by the USDA. Conventional food
which to many people think is not safe because of the chemicals in it but it is just as safe as
organic food. Some organic food is not completely chemical free. Certified organic is the most
chemical free but not completely. According to the Mayo Clinic if the produce has a USDA
organic seal on it then it is 95 to 100 percent organic. Products that are completely organic such as
fruits, vegetables, eggs or other single ingredient foods are labeled 100 percent organic and can
carry the USDA seal. Foods that have more than one ingredient, such as breakfast cereal, can use
the USDA organic seal plus the following wording, depending on the number of organic
ingredients, 100 percent organic. To use this phrase, products must be either completely organic or
made of all organic ingredients. Organic. Products must be at least 95 percent organic to use this
term (Are They Safe?).

A Brief Note On Contingency Management ( Cm )
c. Contingency management (CM) is a treatment that uses a systematic method of changing
behavior by modifying through consequences. It maintains that behavior has a type of
repetitiveness and can be altered by using a system of negative and positive reinforcement. These
negative and positive types of consequences, if administered consistently, can result in
behaviorally changes. CM is structured around four core principles; routine drug testing is
arranged by the clinician to detect if clients been using specific substance regularly, if abstinence
is proven the clinician implements positive reinforcement, which is accepted by the client and
clinician, if a positive for drugs is disclosed the clinician denies the clients reward that was agreed
upon, a negative test rewards the client with what was agreed upon. CM is an approach that is best
focused on a targeted behaviorsuch as; substance abstinence, treatment plan adherence, consistency
with medication, continuous individual and group presence, and completion of specific goals.
There is an assortment of reinforcement techniques that are available to use with CM like;
currency, rewards, tokens, concessions, and other prizes. I would use the CM method when a
client that denies that he is consuming any alcohol but shows signs of the substance abuse. This
would be a good method for those who do better when they receive a reward that would more
likely motivate them to accept change. Keeping the client occupied and on a roll

Dealing with Annular Pressure Build Up
Annular pressure build up (APB) is an important problem in the areas of well design. Although
different suggestions have been proposed to mitigate APB, including vacuum insulated tubing,
silicate foam wellbore insulation techniques, and insulating completion (packer) fluids, consistent,
robust APB mitigation solutions that include the optimized annular fluid rheology of the trapped
drilling fluids in the outer annuli are needed to better handle this problem.
The convective and conductive heat transfer through the trapped drilling fluid between the casing
strings is a driving force for increasing the annular pressure. This study explains how to design
and optimize the rheological and thermal properties of drilling fluid to provide a sustainable and
reliable insulating performance. The objectives of this study are 1) to develop a better insight of
APB in the annulus of casing and 2) to experimentally measure and 3) analytically model the effect
of different parameters, such as rheological and thermal properties, on the insulating performance of
drilling fluid trapped in annular spaces. By combining the theory of sedimentation and the model
proposed for free convective heat transfer of Yield Power Law fluids across parallel plates, a
stepwise guideline was proposed to estimate the Nusselt number and thermal conductivity
coefficient profile of trapped drilling fluid. A computer code to perform this procedure has been
developed. Additionally, a unique experimental apparatus was

Heave in Hell in C.S. LewisВґ The Great Divorce Essay
In his novel The Great Divorce, C.S. Lewis depicts two settings: one of a grey town where
whatever you want is provided for you and another of grand pasture. These settings, in the book,
represent Heaven in Hell in a way, depending on which character s perspective the places are
viewed from. However, the places that the main character visits and the journey that he takes is one
that can be used to model the journey of our spiritual walk. Similar to how the protagonist starts in a
bleak town then travels through a beautiful but harsh pasture towards the mountains, our lives start
in the darkness of sin, but then we travel through the treacherous but worthwhile journey of faith
towards eternity with God.

Christ Jesus will be persecuted, but James 1:12 asserts, Blessed is the man who remains steadfast
under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has
promised to those who love him. Indeed, as the solid people continually promise, the journey
becomes easier the closer the ghosts get to the mountains. In a similar fashion, our walks with Him
become less tumultuous as we grow closer to Him, until our eventual deaths where we can finally
be with Him in heaven.
There is a point where this general model fails, though. Ephesians 2:8 states, For by grace you
have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God. This verse is
the basis of sola fide, meaning we as humans are given the

The Maucher Era (1980 1997) Helmut Maucher became the CEO of NestlГ© when the company
s profits had started to decline. At this critical time Maucher s sole objective became to improve
the company s market share. This was done by cutting down on products that were not
performing well in the market and emphasizing more on those which were. Focus was directed
towards quality of the products. In 1985 NestlГ© overtook Carnation, an American food
company. This $ 3 billion take over was, at that point the biggest in the food industry. II.The
Brabeck Era (1997 2008) Peter Brabeck turned NestlГ© into the fastest growing food company.
During this period NestlГ© acquired many companies. Followed the footsteps of Maucher.

The Role Of Rape In Laurie Halse Anderson s Speak
In Speak, Laurie Halse Anderson utilizes mirrors to provide the readers with insight into the mind
of the protagonist, Melinda Sordino, an isolated and lonely high school freshmen with the weight
of what happened to her at a party over the summer break. Prior to the party, Melinda was not
extremely popular, but she had a core group of friends. Her assault changed all of that. According
to a report in the late 1990 s, the number of incidents of date rapehas slowly declined. In the 1990s,
the time period for Anderson s novel, 1.1 million women reported intimate violence in 1993 as
compared with 900,000 female victims in 1998 (Constantakis 262). Although the incident of rape is
not uncommon and fortunately declining, it is still a taboo... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Melinda notices that while in the car, Heather s mom is watching her and she feels judged. She
then tries to hide herself from Heather s mom, but continues to look at her own reflection and
comes to the conclusion that The scabs on [her] lips are especially gross in that little rectangle

Throughout the novel, she constantly bites her lips as a nervous tick and they are always bloody
and scabbed. She is aware of this and how disgusting they look but cannot stop, therefore it
contributes to self destruction of her body along with her mind. In another section of the book
Melinda is scrutinizing the image that stares back at her in the mirror and she push[es] her ragged
mouth against the mirror. A thousand bleeding crusted lips push back (125). Her lips are becoming
irritated along with her mind. The thoughts she has about herself are twisted and always negative.
She is destroying herself mentally which ultimately results in the adaptation of low self esteem.
Hart writes that, she has little protection between her outer and inner self proving that her thoughts
are uncontrolled and lead to impulse habits that physically destroy her (Hart 264). Melinda is

SYNOPSIS
The above listed five authors, employed at the College of Social Work, University at Utah, Salt
Lake City, UT. USA was the persons that produced the systematic review (SR). Those same persons
were all involved in conducting this review. This review focused on short term psychotherapeutic
modalities used when working with survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV) in both community

The authors included this information via a detailed Table number three. Accordingly, this detailed
table identifies and organizes the nine different categories with examples of outcome measures that
were included in each category. Effect size, number of measures, confidence level, z scores, and p
values. Specific statistical findings are explained in tables 4 5. Identified in Table five was five of
the target areas, which had large effect sizes, including PTSD, self esteem, depression, general
distress, and life functioning. Four targeted areas had effects in moderate range; substance use
/abuse, emotional well being, safety, and recurrence of interpersonal violence. All nine targeted
outcomes reached a level of statistical significance.

A Visit to the Notre Dame Cathedral
The Notre Dame Cathedral is certainly one of the most beautiful locations in the world, as the city
of Paris as a whole and the building s surroundings contribute to making visitors acknowledge the
importance of this monument. Construction on the cathedral started in 1163 and was largely
finished by 1250, with most of its features emphasizing Gothic influences. The building s
architecture, the sculptures present in it, and the impressive stained glassall stand as reminders that
the French community invested most of its cultural values into the church at the time when it was
constructed.
From the very first moment when entering the cathedral one is likely to be struck by the silence
dominating the massive interior. In spite of the somewhat annoying number of curious tourists
(others probably saw my curiosity just as annoying as the noise), the church manages to maintain its
quiet and peaceful nature. This is truly remarkable, taking into account that it is constantly filled
with tourists through visiting hours.
It is difficult to ignore the fact that the Notre Dame is one of most popular monuments in the world
and that many visitors prefer this particular building to the Eiffel Tower. Its popularity certainly
makes it difficult for one to feel the sacredness that it contains and that it was initially meant to put
across. The fact that so many visitors walk through its entrance every day diminishes its value
somewhat, especially considering that many of them fail to

How Did Roger Chillingworth Committed The Greatest Sin
Roger Chillingworth committed the greatest sin. He seems to be the character that has the
highest amount of flaws and also the highest amount of sins. He sent his beautiful wife away to
Boston for about two years, so he could live with Native Americans, and he became upset when
he found her with a child that was not his own. Chillingworth is also a man of science, which
means more than likely, he is not a man of God. In fact, he loses his soul to Satan and basically
becomes one of his demons. If sins could be greater or lesser than one another, his terrible sin of
revenge would be the greatest one of all. After Hester Prynne stands on the scaffold for her sin,
Chillingworth goes to her cell for two reasons. The public reason is to take care of her and little
Pearl; the private reason is to figure out who the father of her baby is. Hester vows not to tell
who the father is and not to tell who Chillingworth really is. From that moment on, Roger
Chillingworth devotes the rest of his life to finding out who the father is and to seek revenge on
that man. He spends several years living with Reverend Arthur Dimmesdale and figures out that he
is the father of Pearl. In fact, everyone in the town notices that his expressions and appearance

Citizens view all levels of government in the country as corrupt and lazy yet many still believe that
the government is the best option for making things better. Since 1994, the country has basically
been a one part country ruled by the African National Congress (ANC). They have had a two thirds
majority since the creation of the new constitution and has used that power many times to alter
the constitution. The ANC is considered to be pretty far left on their platform and policies. They
believe in living wages, a very strong social safety net, and guarantee living quarters. The
political scene has been shaking up recently, the ANC has been losing significant votes in major
cities and other political parties are now gaining traction within the political sphere. The legal
oversight of the country is mix. There is a high rate of serious crimes going on within the country.
If you are poor or unconnected you can easily be charged and convicted while a wealthy person is

The Importance Of Religious Freedoms In The United States
It is often stated throughout this great country that we have a right to religious freedoms. Are these
freedoms only available if they fit inside a certain box or guidelines? Often times in our country
today we see individuals who are constantly claiming their right to religious freedoms. And often
times they are denied those freedoms by the interpretation of various laws. The First Amendment of
the United States of America Constitution clearly gives us our religious freedom above and beyond
all created laws. This leads to the fact that all laws should abide by the First Amendment. The First
Amendment of the U.S. Constitution clearly states Congress shall make no law respecting an

Yes, that s right businesses. What religious freedom does is that it fosters respect by protecting
something that more than eight in ten people worldwide, 84 percent according to a recent Pew
Research study, identify with a religious faith , (Grim, 2014), encourages peace, develops an
economy, which in turn can reduce corruption. In turn religious freedoms also encourages
broader freedoms that can contribute to positive economic development. Many argue that social
development requires the removal of sources of un freedom and restrictions on religions in such
countries like Saudi Arabia and Dubai. Religious freedom also helps with the development of an
economy when religious groups are free to operate in a competitive environment religion can
play a role in major social development of countries. (Grim, 2014) Religious freedoms also
encourage multiples of trust for instance clothing retailer Abercrombie Fitch fought and lost a
religious discrimination case in 2013 related to firing a Muslim stock girl for wearing a scarf in
violation of the company s dress code. The case resulted not only in substantial legal costs but also
negative national publicity. Respect for reasonable accommodation of religious freedom in the
workplace can improve employee morale, increase retention of valued employees, and help with
conflict resolution. Moreover, businesses may gain a competitive advantage by engaging
stakeholder expectations that are increasingly demanding that companies play a positive role in
addressing environmental, social and governance challenges. (Grim,

I found that the negroes who had been declared free by the United States were not free, in fact
that they were living under a code that made them worse than slaves; and I found that it was

Positive Effects Of The Green Revolution
The term Green Revolution was first used in 1968 when people realized that a revolution in
agriculture was taking place. In this revolution many technology transfer initiatives were created
which led to a drastic increase of production worldwide as well as innovative ideas that created
large supplies of food very quickly. Incorporating technological ideas such as mechanization,
which led to the massive increase of production of food at the expense of creating larger but
fewer farms, is what really gave headway to the mass production of food. With the creation of so
much food there needed to be advancements in the way we grew our food such as synthetic
fertilizers, pesticides, and GMOs. With these technological changes in the way food was farmed
and produced many people were able to benefit from the outcomes of the Green Revolution. The
food was able to be made and sold so cheaply that the revolution, to some degree, helped alleviate
world hunger by providing people with food that diversified their diet. However, with these changes
in agriculturecame changes in the socio economy. Many small farms went into debt and lost their
land while the wealthier farms were able to grow the amount of land they had, thereby giving rise
to new ways of farming, like monoculture farming. Overall, the Green Revolution changed the
world in both positive and negative ways. By using new and old technologies to create a system
where food could be made cheaply and at large quantities, we see many

Yahweh is a single incomprehensible being. Unlike Christianity, God is not a trinity, he is one
being. The unity and oneness of God is an important element of the Jewish faith. The amount of
emphasis Jews put on the unity of God can be seen in the opening line of the most important
prayer of Judaism; The Shema. According to Tracey, R. Rich, creator of Judaism 101.org, The
Shema is one of only two prayers that are specifically commanded in Torah (the other is Birkat

Beware, lest your heart be deceived and you turn and serve other gods and worship them. And
the anger of the Lord will blaze against you, and he will close the heavens and there will not be

enormous amount of things to celebrate over after the war was finally over. Morale was high but,
Despite the celebratory mood, the victory over France also produced major problems within the
British Empire, problems that would have serious consequences for British colonists in the
Americas (U.S History, 120). The enormous obligation the war produced at home, nonetheless,

Fear-Avoidance Beliefs
Predictors of fear avoidance beliefs in patients with acute low back pain: Investigting the effects of

Low back pain (LBP) is one of the leading causes of disability and work absence globally,
affecting not just the individual, but also extending to families, communities and society at large.
Whilst the prevalence of LBP is high, with over 70 percent of people experiencing some LBP at
some point during their lives, most will resolve within a few months (Campbell et al, 2013).
Problems arise when pain persists beyond the expected period of healing or when it exceeds 12

Previous research has identified pain characteristics and beliefs as well as fear avoidance beliefs as
potential predictors of the development of chronic pain. Waddel et al (1993) found that fear
avoidance beliefs accounted for 23 percent of the variance in disability in ADL s and 26% of
variance in work loss, after controlling for pain. Fear avoidance beliefs in relation to physical
activity have been shown to be predictive of increased disability in older adults with chronic LBP
(Camacho Soto et al, 2012). In a large scale 5 year longitudinal UK study of 488 patients to
determine prognostic factors that predict pain and disability, two key predictive factors identified
were pain intensity and the belief that pain would persist (Campbell et al, 2013).
Given the contribution of fear avoidance beliefs to the development of chronic pain and

due to language barriers and difficulty with the rating scale. Therefore the purpose of the this study
was to investigate possible predictors of fear avoidance beliefs from information commonly derived

How Can Video Games Be Helpful
Now that I have presented video games and what they are I would want to move on to the most
important part of this essay, in my opinion. How can Video Games Be Helpful 1.People who
play action based games make accurate decisions 25% faster. Scientists from the University of
Rochester tell us that fast paced games require quick thinking and also very good reaction time.
That being said, casual gamers have a better sense of what is happening around them at any
given state. There is even a study regarding this. In this study, participants aged 18 to 25 were
split in two groups. One group played 50 hours of this so called fast paced games (Call of Duty 2

Indiana, people who received workout advice through a game called Second Life reported more

Contrary to the popular belief that video games are the cause of many teenagers having to wear
glasses is another study from the University of Rochester, that shows that people who played
action based video games particularly first person shooter games were 58% better at perceiving
fine differences in contrast, the researchers said. When people play action games, they re changing
the brain s pathway responsible for visual processing, Bavelier said in a statement. The training

presenting evidence to support the notion of declining economic and military power of the sole
super power of the last few decades, the author leaves the reader questioning whether the U.S. can
adapt to a bipolar or multipolar power structure or whether the U.S. will pay to recover its
dominance. At the outset, the author provides a number of examples of the failure of the Obama

In addition to the U.S. failing to follow through on promises of military action, the Obama
presidency seemed to be taking a defensive posture and positioning the U.S. into a new world
order of rival power centers, namely the U.S. and China. From the appointment of Senator Check
Hagel and Charles Kupchan to the Obama administration to statements made by the President at
the State of the Union and Hilary Clinton as a 2008 presidential candidate, the Obama
administration seemed to be accepting of the U.S. need to adapt to a new world in order from
singular primacy to one that requires allies to maintain control and dominance. Though the U.S.
government would not publicly acknowledge pursuing a strategy of offshore balancing, the Obama
administration s appointments, statements, and actions suggest a game plan that came right from
the offshore balancing playbook. Lastly, the author lays out the case that the U.S. economy was

What Does Digger Mean
Digger It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining and the grass was green, in middle of the yard
was a trampoline. The net was black and the mat that covered the grey silver springs was a
medium dark blue and has holes from the dogs going up and down and up and down. You could
hear the paws go off the mat and makes the spring go back to it s original position, I was doing a
flip. Five minutes had passed before I heard a vomit noise that sounded like water coming down
a faucet. Then I saw Digger, Digger was a golden retriever with dark eyes and a pink nose. His
nose was pink because he would stick it in the sparkly white snow every white winter. Right there
Digger was trying to tell me something, you just know that feeling. So I... Show more content on

Whenever I got home from school I would think that I would see Digger right there by the door.
But then I realized that he s not there then I became so sad that I felt like my whole world just
crumbled to pieces. I was standing on top of it with no one there to give me a big bear hug to make
me feel better. But not that sad because I know that Digger will always be in my heart forever.
Until the day that I die I know that I will see him again one day but until that day he will be in my
heart. A week passed by and we could not live without a dog it felt like there were no animals in
this world to comfort you. So we got two new know dogs, There names are Maya and Riley. Maya
is a half black lab and half doberman and Riley is half red healer and half german shepherd even
though they are not a big fan of one and another they still are amazing dogs. Digger has informed
me that the things that you love the most will always stay in your heart even if they are not there
by your side. This quote just means a lot to me IF THERE ARE NO DOGS IN HEAVEN,THEN

Military Rank Structure
I ve had enough time to reflect. I Pvt. Jones assume full liability for my activities and will ensure
these inappropriate practices are quickly destroyed. I understand the importance of taking after
requests and see what impact it could have on the military in general if nobody tailed them. The
Army is full of men and ladies who take pride in serving for their nation. Demonstrable skill, teach
and uprightness are key parts that every individual serving today should have. Every non military

Also, this obviously is something that each administrator particularly if the officer is going into a
wartime situation might want to recognize what quality he is has. Rank structure is essential to the
Army since rank structure is the idea of where all train in the positions originates from. Without a
rank structure know one would know who is accountable for who and everybody would begin to
attempting to assume responsibility in their own particular manner cause perplexity and confusion
through the positions. Additionally without rank structure, when guidelines or requests are

nobody would know who should justify the train or who should complete the teach in this way

Keeping Cool On The Hot Seat Analysis
Chapters eighteen through thirty six in Keeping Cool on the Hot Seat by author Judith Hoffman
discusses preparing for and recovering from the press. Getting the correct informational statements
out to the media in a timely and accurate fashion is important to any Crisis Management Team;
and being prepared for any forum of public speaking is vital as one only gets one chance to make
a first impression. In order to begin preparation, it is recommended by Hoffman to begin with
brainstorming to come up with the any and all possible questions that the presscorps could possibly

not to keep asking for a question to be restated, this will make the spokesperson look

The Battle Of The War Of 1812
The War of 1812 had many tremendous battles that featured the newly formed American Army
verse the well established British forces. The Americans were forced to declare war of the British
because the British refused to stop interfering with American trade, impressment of American sailor,
and support for Indian attacks on new American settlements. The United States had to quickly The
Battle of Baltimore was the most significant battle in the War of 1812because it drove back the
British Navy into the Atlantic Ocean, gave America hope after the White House was burned, and
gave Francis Scott Key the inspiration to write the poem that would be turned into the national
anthem of the country.
The first reason why the Battle of Baltimore was the most important was because the victory drove
back the British forces back towards the Atlantic Ocean. In August 1814, the British had begun to
launch raids on small towns around the Chesapeake Bay, which took place in the states of Virginia
and Maryland. Britain had several goals in their Chesapeake Bay Campaign; the most important was
to create a diversion that would relieve pressure on their forces fighting in the Northeast.
Controlling the Chesapeake Bay not only gave Britain the advantage of the many small towns
situated along the bays coastline, but the important major cities of Washington, D.C., and
Baltimore, Maryland. An attack on Washington D.C. would deliver a serious blow to Americans
pride and self confidence. Considered a

Literary Works Based On War And Heroism
Kenyia Lepine
Instructor Lovoy

June 22, 2015
In reading The Iliad and Beowulf, one can conclude they are both literary works based on war
and heroism. The hero in the Iliad is Achilles, who is from Greece and is the Archaen army s
greatest warrior in the battle of the Trojan war. Beowulf, a Geatish warrior has come to help the
Danes in their long fight against Grendel, showing his heroism. Both characters Achilles and
Beowulf share some similar traits such as their thirst for glory, their abnormal strength, and their
courage. The characters also display several differences among each other as in they are not from
the same cultures, Beowulf is more selfless than Achilles, and Achilles fights humans instead of
mythical creatures such as Beowulf does. In medieval literature and todays literature, heroism is
important simply because it gives people hope and inspires them. As stated before, Achilles and
Beowulf were both thirsty for glory and I think that trait is still present in today s time which
cannot always be positive. Also, in todays time it is not the term hero that has changed. It is we
who have changed. For most people, the media, pop culture, and events in society change our
perception of a hero. In Beowulf, Beowulf s thirst for glory is expressed throughout the entire
story. Inspired again by the thought of glory, the war king threw his whole strength behind a sword
stroke and connected with the skull (2677 2680) . In the Iliad, Achilles shows his

1a. What are some of the actions you would take to conduct a Red Team assessment? According to
the book Penetration Testing, A hands on Introduction to Hacking (Weidman, 2014) , there are six
phases of the penetration testing process. The six phases are pre engagement interactions,
intelligence gathering, threat modeling, vulnerability analysis, exploitation, post exploitation and
reporting. Pre engagement During the pre engagement phase, I would interact and plan out the
testing scenario with the client. We would discuss their expectations, versus reality and their goals
for performing the pentest. Additionally, we would engage in discussions detailing the project
scope to define responsibilities of the red team and the responsibilities of the organization. As
well, we would discuss left and right boundaries regarding actions and reactions to situations that
may occur as a result of the pentest scenario. Finally, after all expectations, goals, responsibilities
and project scope are clearly identified and agreed upon we would need to discuss what type of
reporting mechanism the client prefers. Some clients may prefer a more discreet reporting
platform, informing only a select few employees . Other organizations may prefer a more
widespread dissemination of the pentest findings to use as an awareness and teaching mechanism
for their employees. Information Gathering During the Information gathering phase, I would begin

Denial In A Separate Peace
In A Separate Peace by John Knowles, Finny chooses to deny many things that are happening in
his life. He tries to convince himself and his friends that there is no war being fought. By doing
this, Finny is also denying his physical condition. In the novel A Separate Peace, the symbol of
snow shows that denial is powerful and controlling, especially in a friendship. John Knowlesuses
the snowball fight between Finny and the other boys to show how Finny denies the war. The
snowball fight is clearly related to the war because of techniques and sayings the boys use that are
used in war, but Finny ignores that, and the fact that it could be dangerous for his leg to play and
fight in the snow. Finny says, That was a good fight. I thought

Positive And Negative Effects Of Globalization
Globalization affected the economy in South Asia, specifically Bangladesh, Philippines, and
Afghanistan, in both good ways and bad ways. Bangladesh is one of the countries who have
been affected negatively. The Bangladesh government should enforce the labor law in
Bangladesh. The Philippines has been impacted positively, however they should still work on
business freedom. Afghanistan has also been impacted negatively, and the government should
inaugurate a free educational program for the struggling families. Bangladesh was impacted
negatively by Globalization. Bangladesh has been known to have had incidents where workers
have lost lives due to the poor labor conditions they were working upon. Workers are told to
work long shifts every day, receiving very little pay for the work that they did. In the article titled
Factory Collapses in Bangladesh , by The Institute for Global Labour and Human Rights, It states
how the standard shift for a worker is 13 14 ВЅ hours. This adds up to 90 100 hours/week, with
only 2 days off in the entire month. The money that the workers received ranged from 12 22
cents/hour, depending on the age of the worker. This means that Globalization caused the
factories to move to countries like Bangladesh to have more workers working for longer periods
of time and pay them as little money as possible. Bangladesh has one of the most lowest wages in
the world, Working in the factories means making less money because the owners ignore the laws.

Die Hard Stereotypes
Die Hard is a classic action movie that shows rampant gender bias. Of the characters in the film,
not only are the majority of them men, but also the male characters have more important roles as
well as significantly more screen time. In contrast, there are only three women with names and
lines, and only one of them actually contributes substantially to the plot. Holly is an exception to
the rule when it comes to the jobs of the femalecharacters in the movie, but not to the extent that
she should be. More importantly, the movie relies on the stereotypes of female characters for an
entertaining plot. While Die Hard does technically fulfill the requirements of the Bechdel Test, it s

Lab Performed 03/11/15 Lab Report 04/07/15
Abstract:
Using solutions of sugar and water alongside cola, density and percent sugar can be related. The
purpose of this lab is to discover how and with what benefit these factors can be related. Using
assorted measurements and the standard curve of the calculated densities and percentages of sugar
solutions, it was learned that cola has an approximate percent sugar of four percent, according to the
calculations of the lab. Other results included actual percent sugar of soda and various statistics on
measured sugar solutions. Introduction
The purpose of this lab is to explore how density can be used to measure sugar content and percent
sugar of beverages not only in the lab, but in the real world. Using the standard curve of the
percent sugar and density of the solutions in the lab, the percent sugar of regular Coke was
determined. The standard curve represented the general trend in the correlation of the values
calculated in the lab. Using the data from the experiment, the actual amount of sugar in the soda
could be calculated by using the percent sugar found by using the standard curve. (If the soda has
a mass of x and the percent sugar is the value y, x в—Џ y = mass of sugar.)
Of course, the simple calculation of percent sugar dividing the mass of the sugar by the mass of the
solution can be

It is the badge of hatred, the badge that stigmatized and humiliated the Jews. It is the badge that facilitated deportation and marked the first steps of dehumanization. However, it is the same yellow star that not only represented the Jewish community but was seen to represent hope and faith in God. The meaning of this star shall not remain wrongfully changed by the hands of the oppressors but instead shall be the hope in every Holocaust survivor, including that of Baruch Goldstein. This only happens after someone dies and an interested party files the will with the local probate court. The court reviews the will and decides whether it is valid or not. That is probate in simplest form. But, often probate is not so simple. Admitting the Will for Probate The first step to the probate process is admitting the will. In Texas, this is done by submitting an application for probate with the probate court. The person filing the application can be a spouse, a child, a parent, or any other person named in the will. There is only a limited period between the time the person dies and the time the will can be admitted to the probate court. The courts ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Christianity And Christianity Of Christianity Being some of the biggest religions in the world today, Christianity and Catholicism are considered to be symbols of stability, comfort, and security because of its strong faith. This, however, has not always been true. Over the course of hundreds of thousands of years, Christianity and Catholicism have gone through tremendous changes through different major events in history. Ranging from the Council of Nicaea the early church community prior to 1054 to the Spanish Colonization of the New World prior to 1900 to the Second Vatican Council after 1900 all of these events created waves of change in these religions and helped form them into what they are today. At the dawn of Christianity, many differing beliefs existed. Small factions, without leadership, practiced their own interpretations of their faith. Due to its nature as a persecuted religion, it was difficult for the early church to establish a semblance of leadership. After Constantine s legalization and implementation of Christianity in 313 A.D., it became clear that Catholics needed to consolidate their beliefs. This wasn t accomplished until 325 A.D. when the Council of Nicaea was convened. There were many motivations for holding the council, including: the deliberation on the nature of God and Jesus Christ and what it meant to be Christian among others. The Council of Nicaea was a very important meeting where 300 bishops from across the Roman Empiremet to discuss different administrative and theological ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Differences In Twins Compare And Contrast Subash Khanal ENGLISH 1113 @ TR@ 9:30 Mrs. Smith 8th Dec, 2016 Difference in twins and clones From the very beginning of evolution, human beings have been developing themselves rapidly in physical and mental aspects. With every successful evolutionary era, human beings are found to be somewhat alike to their ancestor. Birth of twins is always a matter of great curiosity in world. Many are amazed with this fact of twining. The fact that contrasts offspring s being alike to their ancestor is a genetic carrier called DNA. DNA is a double helical structure that is composed of genetic material called chromosomes. Chromosomes found in human body cells are equal in number in each cell and are formed after the cell division and condensation of DNA (charlotte 3). With growing technology and scientific progress artificial twining called cloning is also made possible. But, Identical twins made from biological parents are incomparable to the clones made from a genetic host. Genetic material called Chromosomes carry genetic material from springs to spring with slight variation. During birth unusual division of chromosome can give birth to twins. Twins can be of two types identical twins and fraternal twins. Identical twins look alike but fraternal twins do not. Twining is a biological process. There is another artificial process of making twins that is cloning, which results same as twining. Usually by definition, clones are living organism that has placed themselves in a different ... • 10. How Did Charles II Impact The English Bill Of Rights The provisions of the English Bill of Rights provided protection against past actions taken by Charles I and James II. The provisions of the English Bill of rights influenced future governments, such as the United States of America. In other words, the English Bill of Rights helped create the world we live in today. Charles I defaulted on the agreement of martial law because of its limitations on royal power. He decided that since he could not work with Parliament, Charles would not summon to meet. Charles I pursued a course of personal rule, which would force him to find ways to collect taxes without cooperation of Parliament. His religious policy was catastrophic. After eleven years of frustration, Parliament became determined to deal the king his due. They decided that the king had gone too far, and Englandslipped into civil war. Over the next century, Parliament gradually proved to be the real authority in the English constitutional monarchy. The Overcrowding of Prisons Essays According to Mark Early, president of the Prison Fellowship International, the Bureau of Justice Statistics report shows that there are 19 states that have prisons operating at 100 percent capacity and another 20 are falling right behind them. There is no wonder why the overcrowding of prisons is being discussed everywhere. Not to mention how serious this predicament is and how serious it can get. Many of the United States citizens don t understand why this is such a serious matter due to the fact that some of them believe it s not their problem. Therefore they just don t care about it. That was two years ago and the prison population have continued to grow since then, so can you imagine what it is now? Now, think of what the prisoners have to go through. Andrea Caumont shared some of the problems prisoners are having, because of prison overcrowding. She says that in California the United States Supreme Court told the state to reduce its prison population, because overcrowded conditions are amounting to cruel and unusual punishment. Can you imagine what must be happening for the Supreme Court to rule it as cruel and unusual punishment? Not only are they being punished cruelly, the prisoners are also losing their opportunities to participate in the prisons self improvement programs and the vocational training, because there is less of everything to go around. Therefore all resources, even food, are being stretched to the max. (John Howard goes into more detail on this issue in his paper The Effects of Prison Overcrowding on the P.A.T.R.I.C.K Crusade website.) The prisoners are not the only ones being affected by this problem, this problem is affecting everyone. The overcrowding of prisons can date back to the 1850 s, when they imprisoned debtors, delinquent juveniles, minor misdemeanants and felons all together with no separation. By my parents keeping me home all the time allows me to see that they are just trying to help and show me what I need to expect in the future. They are giving me a heads up and just trying to help even if it sucks some of the time. There is plenty of negatives for being the eldest but there is just as many positives. I can sit back and watch other people s mistakes and learn off of those. I can have a mud wrestling match in the front yard with my brother. I can get to know my siblings better and become more close with them even if they don t like me sometimes because I have to be the bigger person and tell them no when something isn t right. However, participating rate rose rapidly in 1980 s when a land mark legal case approved the natives to choose gaming as a source of economy, revenue and employment. It is these litigations that opened the avenues for the tribes to engage in gaming activities. It is often believed by the general majority that Indian reservations possess huge amount of money generally because of gaming. However, according to Miller J. Although he doesn t dispute that Indian gaming is single largest source of annual revenues, Miller argues not all the reservations in Indian have gaming facilities. Most dominant facilities of gaming are casinos. Gaming is divided into three classes by Indian Gaming Regulatory Act that was passed in 1988. Class I gaming were social games or traditional games. • 15. How Organizations Can Move Beyond The First Steps Of... ABSTRACT Change is best carried through by the many, not by just the hero leader. Ten challenges to the initiation and sustaining of change are elaborated, illustrated by a rich range of case studies and supported by a practical checklist. We all know that change and innovation are of the essence for organisations today and in future. The bad news, according to Peter Senge, is that most change initiatives fail. The good news is that Senge and his co authors think they know why and what to do about it. Senge is the guru of the learning organisation whose previous book The Fifth Discipline was hailed as a groundbreaking book about organisational transformation. Senge and his co authors, all of them change experts, call this new book a Fifth Discipline resource . The aim of the book is to show how organisations can move beyond the first steps of corporate change and sustain the momentum. The problems that cause the failure of change projects cannot be solved by more expert advice, better consultants or more committed managers, say Senge and co. They stem from our most basic ways of thinking. Unless these change, new initiatives will only produce the same unproductive types of action. The fundamental problem is that most change initiatives deal only with growth processes and not with the limiting processes. We need to change our way of thinking so that we can understand the forces that impede progress and develop strategies for dealing with them. One of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Indirectly, it also forced Rome to grow politically and militarily as it learned to deal with acquisitions and powerful opponents beyond the Italian peninsula. Direct Consequence of the Second Punic War (218 201) (Morey, 1901a, Par. Battle of Zama and End of the War) 1. Carthage became a dependent state, loosing it s right to declare war without permission of Rome. 2. Carthage lost all lands in Spain, and was split up into the two Roman provinces of Hither and Farther Spain which was then governed by a Roman praetor. 3. Carthage lost claim to all Mediterranean islands between Carthage and Italy. 4. Carthage was saddled with tribute of 200 talents payable for fifty fifty. 5. • 17. Organic Food Is Better Than Conventional Food Organic food is a current topic in today s healthful world. There are different sides to the organic food argument. One is that organic food is much better than conventional food. The other is that conventional food is just as good as organic and more for your dollar. To some families organic food is more then they can afford because of the extra work that is required to grow it. People say that organic foodis better because it has no chemicals or fertilizer in it but that is not true because they do put fertilizer on it just natural fertilizer that is certified by the USDA. Conventional food which to many people think is not safe because of the chemicals in it but it is just as safe as organic food. Some organic food is not completely chemical free. Certified organic is the most chemical free but not completely. According to the Mayo Clinic if the produce has a USDA organic seal on it then it is 95 to 100 percent organic. Products that are completely organic such as fruits, vegetables, eggs or other single ingredient foods are labeled 100 percent organic and can carry the USDA seal. Foods that have more than one ingredient, such as breakfast cereal, can use the USDA organic seal plus the following wording, depending on the number of organic ingredients, 100 percent organic. To use this phrase, products must be either completely organic or made of all organic ingredients. Organic. Products must be at least 95 percent organic to use this term (Are They Safe?). ... • 18. A Brief Note On Contingency Management ( Cm ) c. Contingency management (CM) is a treatment that uses a systematic method of changing behavior by modifying through consequences. It maintains that behavior has a type of repetitiveness and can be altered by using a system of negative and positive reinforcement. These negative and positive types of consequences, if administered consistently, can result in behaviorally changes. CM is structured around four core principles; routine drug testing is arranged by the clinician to detect if clients been using specific substance regularly, if abstinence is proven the clinician implements positive reinforcement, which is accepted by the client and clinician, if a positive for drugs is disclosed the clinician denies the clients reward that was agreed upon, a negative test rewards the client with what was agreed upon. CM is an approach that is best focused on a targeted behaviorsuch as; substance abstinence, treatment plan adherence, consistency with medication, continuous individual and group presence, and completion of specific goals. There is an assortment of reinforcement techniques that are available to use with CM like; currency, rewards, tokens, concessions, and other prizes. I would use the CM method when a client that denies that he is consuming any alcohol but shows signs of the substance abuse. This would be a good method for those who do better when they receive a reward that would more likely motivate them to accept change. Keeping the client occupied and on a roll ... • 20. Dealing with Annular Pressure Build Up Annular pressure build up (APB) is an important problem in the areas of well design. Although different suggestions have been proposed to mitigate APB, including vacuum insulated tubing, silicate foam wellbore insulation techniques, and insulating completion (packer) fluids, consistent, robust APB mitigation solutions that include the optimized annular fluid rheology of the trapped drilling fluids in the outer annuli are needed to better handle this problem. The convective and conductive heat transfer through the trapped drilling fluid between the casing strings is a driving force for increasing the annular pressure. This study explains how to design and optimize the rheological and thermal properties of drilling fluid to provide a sustainable and reliable insulating performance. The objectives of this study are 1) to develop a better insight of APB in the annulus of casing and 2) to experimentally measure and 3) analytically model the effect of different parameters, such as rheological and thermal properties, on the insulating performance of drilling fluid trapped in annular spaces. By combining the theory of sedimentation and the model proposed for free convective heat transfer of Yield Power Law fluids across parallel plates, a stepwise guideline was proposed to estimate the Nusselt number and thermal conductivity coefficient profile of trapped drilling fluid. A computer code to perform this procedure has been developed. Additionally, a unique experimental apparatus was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These settings, in the book, represent Heaven in Hell in a way, depending on which character s perspective the places are viewed from. However, the places that the main character visits and the journey that he takes is one that can be used to model the journey of our spiritual walk. In the novel, the protagonist and others travel to the most glorious landscape they ve ever seen. They soon find that the land is so dense that it takes all of their strength to lift merely a leaf; the grass pokes up into their feet, making the terrain difficult to cross. The solid people of what we soon learn is Heaven promise that walking upon the grass towards the mountains will hurt less at every step. It s understood that the mountains represent the city of Heaven, or an eternal life with God. Crossing the terrain is similar to the trials we face on our walk with Him; 2 Timothy 3:12 mentions that Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, but James 1:12 asserts, Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. Indeed, as the solid people continually promise, the journey becomes easier the closer the ghosts get to the mountains. In a similar fashion, our walks with Him become less tumultuous as we grow closer to Him, until our eventual deaths where we can finally be with Him in heaven. There is a point where this general model fails, though. Ephesians 2:8 states, For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God. A Visit to the Notre Dame Cathedral The Notre Dame Cathedral is certainly one of the most beautiful locations in the world, as the city of Paris as a whole and the building s surroundings contribute to making visitors acknowledge the importance of this monument. Construction on the cathedral started in 1163 and was largely finished by 1250, with most of its features emphasizing Gothic influences. The building s architecture, the sculptures present in it, and the impressive stained glassall stand as reminders that the French community invested most of its cultural values into the church at the time when it was constructed. From the very first moment when entering the cathedral one is likely to be struck by the silence dominating the massive interior. In spite of the somewhat annoying number of curious tourists (others probably saw my curiosity just as annoying as the noise), the church manages to maintain its quiet and peaceful nature. This is truly remarkable, taking into account that it is constantly filled with tourists through visiting hours. It is difficult to ignore the fact that the Notre Dame is one of most popular monuments in the world and that many visitors prefer this particular building to the Eiffel Tower. Its popularity certainly makes it difficult for one to feel the sacredness that it contains and that it was initially meant to put across. • 31. Positive Effects Of The Green Revolution The term Green Revolution was first used in 1968 when people realized that a revolution in agriculture was taking place. In this revolution many technology transfer initiatives were created which led to a drastic increase of production worldwide as well as innovative ideas that created large supplies of food very quickly. Incorporating technological ideas such as mechanization, which led to the massive increase of production of food at the expense of creating larger but fewer farms, is what really gave headway to the mass production of food. With the creation of so much food there needed to be advancements in the way we grew our food such as synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, and GMOs. With these technological changes in the way food was farmed and produced many people were able to benefit from the outcomes of the Green Revolution. The food was able to be made and sold so cheaply that the revolution, to some degree, helped alleviate world hunger by providing people with food that diversified their diet. However, with these changes in agriculturecame changes in the socio economy. Many small farms went into debt and lost their land while the wealthier farms were able to grow the amount of land they had, thereby giving rise to new ways of farming, like monoculture farming. The 7th graders took a nature hike and observed the nature around the Portage River. There, a nature expert talked about invasive species, seed distribution, and plants. When the water rises the seed pods come off of plants and float on the water, the seeds then are carried to new places. The 7th graders talked about how the monarchs are declining because of the lack of milkweed. They also talked about plants like goldenrod and poison ivy. Literary Works Based On War And Heroism Kenyia Lepine Instructor Lovoy English 271 June 22, 2015 In reading The Iliad and Beowulf, one can conclude they are both literary works based on war and heroism. The hero in the Iliad is Achilles, who is from Greece and is the Archaen army s greatest warrior in the battle of the Trojan war. Beowulf, a Geatish warrior has come to help the Danes in their long fight against Grendel, showing his heroism. Both characters Achilles and Beowulf share some similar traits such as their thirst for glory, their abnormal strength, and their courage. The characters also display several differences among each other as in they are not from the same cultures, Beowulf is more selfless than Achilles, and Achilles fights humans instead of mythical creatures such as Beowulf does. In medieval literature and todays literature, heroism is important simply because it gives people hope and inspires them. As stated before, Achilles and Beowulf were both thirsty for glory and I think that trait is still present in today s time which cannot always be positive. Also, in todays time it is not the term hero that has changed. It is we who have changed. For most people, the media, pop culture, and events in society change our perception of a hero. In Beowulf, Beowulf s thirst for glory is expressed throughout the entire story. Inspired again by the thought of glory, the war king threw his whole strength behind a sword stroke and connected with the skull (2677 2680) . In the Iliad, Achilles shows his ... The Relationship Between Density And Sugar Content The Relationship Between Density and Sugar Content Danielle Shaub Partners: Emily Alexander, Bill Dempsey, Shayla Ho Lab Performed 03/11/15 Lab Report 04/07/15 Abstract: Using solutions of sugar and water alongside cola, density and percent sugar can be related. The purpose of this lab is to discover how and with what benefit these factors can be related. Using assorted measurements and the standard curve of the calculated densities and percentages of sugar solutions, it was learned that cola has an approximate percent sugar of four percent, according to the calculations of the lab. Other results included actual percent sugar of soda and various statistics on measured sugar solutions. Introduction The purpose of this lab is to explore how density can be used to measure sugar content and percent sugar of beverages not only in the lab, but in the real world. Using the standard curve of the percent sugar and density of the solutions in the lab, the percent sugar of regular Coke was determined. The standard curve represented the general trend in the correlation of the values calculated in the lab. Using the data from the experiment, the actual amount of sugar in the soda could be calculated by using the percent sugar found by using the standard curve.
