The Columbia Basin Pygmy Rabbit
The Columbia Basin Pygmy Rabbit, or Brachylagus idahoensis, is listed as endangered by the
United States Fish and Wildlife Service. This Pygmy Rabbit is the smallest species of its kind in
North America, and it is also one of the only two species of rabbit in the world that digs its own
burrow. The Pygmy Rabbitis different from other species because it falls within the monotypic
genus Brachylagus . The phylogenetic identity of this rabbit is as follows: Animalia (Kingdom),

diverse enough to survive without major future complications. According to the Nature Mapping
Federation website, the Columbia Basin Pygmy Rabbit once occupied areas of southwestern
Montana, northeastern California, southern Idaho, central and northern parts of Nevada, central
and eastern parts of Oregon, northwest Utah, and southeastern Washington. Presently however, the
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service website lists that the Pygmy Rabbit is known or believed to only
occur in the counties of Adams, Benton, Douglas, Franklin, Grant, Kittitas, Lincoln and Yakima in
the state of Washington. The Nature Mapping Federation also states that this Rabbit is usually

My Mother Was A Military Brat
My grandmother once said, or at least I am told she once said, that she was concerned that my
father should not marry my mother because she had no roots. My mother was a military brat.
The longest she s ever lived anywhere is seven years. She makes no bones about the fact that she
doesn t know where she s from. Like the planes my grandfather worked on, my mother was a
child of the wind, going here and there, and wherever destiny took her. I suppose my grandmother
would say the same thing about me. I am a missionary s child, taken wherever the call of God took
my family. I didn t grow up in just one place, therefore I have no roots. It s a very Southern

But even if that misfortune should befall them, they are still in the same spot they were planted in.
I am like a bird. My roots are confined to one area. My egg hatched in Auburn, and since then I
have collected roots Auburn, Roanoke, Quito,Temuco, Santiago, Cullman, Florence, and Killen,
and have woven them all into a nest that is currently nestled in the branches of Killen. My roost
don t trap me in one spot. I am free to fly wherever without hesitation, and if I so desire, bring back
some leaves, or branches, or even more roots from the places I visit.
At some point I m sure a storm of life, or an unexpected gust of wind will blow me out of Killen s
tree. So I ll glide where the wind takes me, and rebuild my nest in a new tree with new roots.
I m sure my grandmother thinks her little bird is an unstable wreck, and in some ways I am. My
ADHD and scattered brains have turned me into quite the character. The payoff is worth it though.
Why watch the seasons slip by the same old burrow when you can soar to the heavens and gaze
upon the whole world?
I ll always have my nest to come back to, and with each blustery, windy trip to a new tree, my nest
of roots grows bigger and grander.
My senior year.

Gender Stereotypes In The Grocery Store
In the grocery store the male employees married or not all stop to observe the girls. The men in
the store appear somewhat stunned, but appreciative, in a hormonal way, of the young girl s
attire. Young Sammy quietly observes the girls mentally, but does make a few crude comments
addressing the girls physical features. Stokesie the 22 year old married man, makes a verbal
acknowledgment of the girls. McMahon the old butcher makes a more physical, obvious, and
inappropriate observation of ogling the threesome. After the store manager Lengal notices the trio,
he is blatantly upset at their attire of choice in the store. It all seems to be a deliberate act to cause
a commotion in the local town store. The women who are currently shopping notice

Essay William Edward Burghardt Du Bois or W.E.B. Du Bois
William Edward Burghardt Du Bois or W.E.B. Du Bois
William Edward Burghardt Du Bois known simply as W.E.B. was 83 when the government
indicted him as a foreign agent in 1951. The only crime he had committed, however, was circulating
the Stockholm Appeal, which said any government to use an atomic weapon against another
country should be treated as a war criminal. After spending six months in disgrace and paying
$35,150 for his defense, the government dismissed its case against him. The old man was freed
and declared himself a communist 12 years later at age 93, dying in Ghana, a country that loved
him. It was a sad end for an intellectual giant whom Kim Pearson, a professor of journalism at The

However, he met a student named Nina Gomer, who he would marry and take with him to the
University of Pennsylvania, where he accepted a job as an assistant instructor of sociology. He
finally found a place to roost in 1897, when he was given a job as a professor at the University of
Atlanta, where he remained until 1910. In his career as an educator, Du Bois taught history,
economics, sociology, Greek, Latin and English literature.
Du Bois overriding emphasis as a black activist was solidarity. As an intellectual, he believed he
had a special responsibility in promoting black unity, a belief that some people have interpreted
as arrogance. In an 1897 article, The Conservation of the Races, Du Bois wrote, For the
development of Negro genius, only Negroes bound and welded together, Negroes inspired by one
vast ideal, can work out in its fullness the great message we have for humanity. Before the Russian
Revolution, he called blacks living in the United States, the advanced guard of Negro people.
In 1899, Du Bois published The Philadelphia Negro, a pioneering work of sociology. Du Bois
interviewed as many as 5,000 people and sought to prove there were class distinctions within black
society. He urged whites not to focus on intermarriage, but to concentrate on cooperating with the
black aristocracy to provide

Limits Of IMC
Lastly, IMC saves a lot of money because it eliminates duplication and replication in areas such
as graphics, imagery and photography since they can be displayed and used in advertising,
exhibitions and sales events. By using a single agency for all communication, the agency fees are
significantly reduced and even if there are different agencies, time is conserved when meetings
bring all the agencies under one roof for strategic planning, creative sessions, briefings, or tactical.
The reduces work pressure and subsequent stress levels are among the many benefits of IMC.
Limitations of IMC:
While the traditional barriers to IMC like the usual resistance to change and the special problems of
communication to a wide variety of potential ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In most but not all organisations, there appear to be very few people who have real time hands on
experience of all the marketing communication techniques. The absence of such expertise and
knowledge is further compounded by an absence of commitment. Realising and working on such
limitations is the first step in efficiently rolling out IMC.
Also, it is not an uncommon sight to notice turf wars or internal power fights where a few managers
resist having some of their decisions (including budgets) decided or even influenced by anyone
from some other department. It shouldn t matter who introduced the creative idea, but more often
than not, it does. An advertising agency might not be very comfortable about having developed a
creative idea by a PR or some direct marketing consultant.
IMC could also deter creativity. No more unconventional and sassy sales promotions unless they
somehow fit into the overall marketing communication strategy agreed upon within the
organisation. The thrill of impactful creativity may be choked, but the creative challenge may be
bigger and ultimately more gratifying when operating within a closely integrated, creative

A player must demonstrate initiative to gain the trust and support of a tribe. Though efforts against
them can prove counteractive, taking away a tribe s support and just the basis of being aligned to
one tribe over another can create this issue. This concept is put forth every day, in the principal of
creating mutual relationships in the pursuit of personal gain and can be viewed on multiple levels
ranging from communities as large as countries, to smaller interactions between business s. A
character in the World of Warcraft must complete various tasks and quests for tribes, growing
their reputation from neutral all the way to exalted within a particular tribe. On the other hand,
assisting rival factions or enemies of a tribe will make you lose reputation, eventually becoming
hated by them. The concept of the enemy of my enemy is my friend is huge in the complex
dynamics holding the world together. This concept is best shown in everyday life when nations in
the world put forth an effort, together with mutual self interest, to crush an opposition and achieve
the common goal of the collective group. The World of Warcraft exists as a fragile entity in which

On January 23, 2006, Ford announced its new business strategy, The Way Forward , which includes
resizing the company , dropping some unprofitable and inefficient models, consolidating production
lines, shutting factories and eliminating over 30,000 jobs. These cutbacks are in alignment with
Ford s approximate 25% decline in U.S. automotive market share since the 1990s.
In September 2006, Alan Mulally was named the new CEO of Ford. Alan Mulally has an
engineering degree in Aerospace and an MBA from MIT. He spent 37 years at Boeing, and many
credit him with being able to turn around the struggling aerospace company. His critics comment
his aerospace experience does not translate well to the automotive industry. In fact, he studied the
production model processes of Toyota and incorporated it into Boeing Corporation. He has begun
integrating these manufacturing processes into Ford Motor Corp. Mulally has a reputation as a
cost cutter and an efficiency aficionado and has brought that approach to Ford where he shed
46,000 jobs in North America alone. He has solid experience in customer satisfaction,
manufacturing, supplier relations, and labor relations.

1000 Class Reflection
Business Recitation 1000 class has been such a great experience and expanded my knowledge
with the excel program while also incorporating the use of excel to create the PowerPoint in
class helped me to know the program better. This learning experience will definitely advance my
knowledge in excel as well as assist me to prepare for the corporate world where these skills are
used in day to day basis. Professor Williamson, you mentioned in the content section restating that
this class went through some major reconstruction from being a communication based where
students were required to do a presentation about the choice of their company for 30 minutes and
writing a 15 page term paper to mostly excel based class now. I believe that these changes were
needed and it really helped me expand my familiarity with excel to knowing exactly how to work
with the program including profit and expense analysis, Income statement, bar chart, line chart,...

Additionally, I became comfortable with excel because I did hesitate and struggled with it in
the beginning but all the materials and instruction improved my performance and some
practicing as well. Fusing excel with PowerPoint was a much simpler task than collecting data
and making graphs in excel. After all the critical work in excel, copy and pasting was one way to
transfer the information which I used for presentation. My group and I chose Microsoft as a
company of our choice and collected all the data needed from the online sources. After
enumerating the information in excel, my group members and I transferred the graphs and charts
by simply copy pasting. I believe that it was definitely an excellent idea for creating a presentation
because we were able to practice and put our skills learned in class to test.

disposal has many methods such as sewer discharge, deicing agent, evaporation pond, and surface

concentration of biological oxygen demand, and concentration of total suspended solids. Brine
underflow slows down along the bay bottoms, limiting oxygen transport to the sediments.
To sum up, groundwater contamination can be related to waste disposal, land disposal of solid

what is going in water and where waste can be put to prevent contamination. Contamination of

King County Emergency Medical System Case Analysis
Education System King County has an integrated education system that equips society with
necessary knowledge, particularly the first aid cautionaries. Its inclusion in the curriculum of high
school students of the King County ensures that the community at large is informed about how to
respond to emergency situations (Eisenberg, Bergner Hallstrom, 1979). With the knowledge gained
from such training, the students became aware of what is expected of them in regards to offering
first aid care to an emergency. This knowledge is passed to rest of community when students
interact with them. This helps to reduce the number of deaths occurring from certain preventable

Foxes are known for their cleverness and their ability to overcome obstacles in creative ways.
Quick, agile, and focused, outsmarting others comes easily to them. The similarities between
these intelligent creatures and Mrs. Amy Fox goes far deeper than their name. Amy Fox is an
English instructor, her class is not one to scoff at and anyone looking for and easy A, should
look the other directions. For, any grammatical error, any inconsistencies in an argument, Fox
will weed them out. With sharp eyes and numerous college degrees at her back, nothing gets past
her. To pass her class one must also become a fox; clever enough to overcome large workloads
without becoming overwhelmed, quick enough to spot errors in their own papers before turning
them in, and focused enough to maintain presence in the classroom despite other things that
maybe going on. No, Fox s class is not easy, it forces students to overcome bad habits, but also
provides the correct tools to do so, if the student is willing to do the work. Mrs. Fox s English 101

The Main Causes of Global Warming
Global warming is the rise of temperature of the Earth. The main cause of global warming is the
greenhouse effect. The way humans behave is the reason that greenhouse gas trap more heat.
Automobiles are the main cause of the greenhouse gases to to trap the heat. Global warming doesn t
completely mean a constant rise in temperature, it is mainly a change in temperature.in patterns.
The two major greenhouse gases include methane and carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide and methane
normally come from Earth s atmosphere. The greenhouse gases are enhanced because of our human
activity. The greenhouse gases are known as synthetic chemicals.

Global warming heats the ocean temperature and deteriorates the reefs leaving fish without
homes. The reason the heat affects the reefs is because it bleaches them. The heating of the
ocean can also give the reefs several different types of diseases. The diseases are bad because the
reefs support entire ecosystems. The reefs are capable of absorbing carbon dioxide which makes
them sick and kills them eventually. The ice caps are melting due to global warming, which means
water levels rise. When water levels rise it is harder for reefs to get the sunlight they need to survive.
Global warming is causing our main deserts to dry up even more. It is causing all of the the
water in the desert to evaporate constantly. Some areas out there where it is still wet will receive
long dry weather until precipitation occurs. Water levels are expected to drop nearly 30% in the
next few years. Warm air in the tropics is heating up which means there will be more tropical
thunderstorms, this will give the deserts and other dry places not in the tropic region a longer and
tougher drought.
Global warming can mean getting warmer, and when it gets warmer the water evaporates into the
air which gives hurricanes more water and stronger winds to work with. Future hurricanes are
expected to be more similar to the strong ones in the past. For example the tornados will be more
like Katrina and Irene. The hurricanes will be a serious problem for people living

Dbq on the Usefulness of Torture
The War on Terror has produced several different viewpoints on the utilization of torture and its
effectiveness as a means to elicit information. A main argument has been supplied that torture is
ineffective in its purpose to gather information from the victim. The usefulness of torture has been
questioned because prisoners might use false information to elude their torturers, which has
occurred in previous cases of torture. It has also been supposed that torture is necessary in order to
use the information to save many lives. Torture has been compared to civil disobedience. In
addition, the argument has been raised that torture is immoral and inhumane. Lastly, Some say that

The difficulties of staying sane are immense during war and tragedies. Despite being

Idi Amin As A Leader That Abuse The Power
Throughout history there have been many leaders who abuse the power that has been bestowed
upon them. A person who abuses such power is considered a dictator, tyrant, despot, etc. These
dictators typically rule through fear, and don t usually win the hearts of many. They will do
whatever it takes to stay in power over the country that they rule. One such ruler is named Idi Amin.
Idi was a ruler who abused his power and saw himself as someone who was a man of influence.
Idi Amin was born on 1925 in Koboka, Uganda (History.com). He was raised with little to no
education, but quickly found his place in the world. He joined the King s African Rifles (KAR) and
quickly rose through the ranks.Milton Obote had become the first prime minister of Uganda in

After a few assassination attempts, Obote began to question Amin s loyalty and ordered his arrest.
When the leader of Uganda was away, Amin staged a coup and seized the government. Idi took the

Idi earned his reputation through the killing of about 500,000 people (History.com). He started off

Speech On Harmony In Diversity
Based on Oxford Advanced Learner s Dictionary, diversity is the state of being varied or simply
we can say diversity means variety . Diversity is a part of our life. Without diversity, everything
will keep to be same. Everyone will have same hair colour, same type of intrest, same clothes and
the worst, everyone will do the same thing, everytime, everywhere! Can you seriously imagine that?!
If this really happend,I m very sure, without any doubt , the world will be so boring . To me ,
diversity is like the variety colours of rainbow. We know well that without the colours, the beautiful
rainbow will never exist. To me, that is one of the reasons why harmony in diversity must be
nurtured and cherish.
When I was trying to understand this topic, the first question coming to my mind is,which country
had practiced a harmony diversity in their country. After doing some researches, I found that the
country is my beloved hometown, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

would like to recall the 13 May incident that happened on 13 May 1969 in Malaysia. This scary and
frightening tragedy is because of an argument among Chinese and Malays due to 1969 Malaysia
General Election .Official report put the number of deaths due to the riots at 196, although Western
diplomatic sources at the time suggested a toll of close to 600, with most of the victims Chinese .

This has allowed the She Runs campaign to be successful in securing more active participants in
the brand community and ultimately growing Nike s customer base. Part of Nike s mission
statement explains, If you have a body, you are an athlete (Nike, 2013). The She Runs campaign is
in line with this mission statement, as they encourage all types of women to get involved and
inspire them to discover their own athletic potential. This motivates women to consider themselves
as athletic, modifying their self schema and therefore shaping their behaviours, perceptions and
motivations in favour of the Nike brand.
Social Psychology, Culture and Attitudes
Nike identified that women have a tendency towards self handicapping behaviour. Women perceive
running in groups as competitive and intimidating, leaving them to overcome running fears and
goals in isolation (AdNewsAus 2013). This is greatly contrasted to the female stereotype and
inclination to discuss and partake in shared experiences (MarketingMag 2013). Nike recognised this
behaviour and turned it into an opportunity through the formation of the She Runs community. Due
to the need of belonging, women have conformed to the actions of those in their reference group
both on and offline in the campaign. Women are connected to those that share their aspirations,
beliefs, attitudes and their ideal self . This community continues to grow due to conformity and how
individuals match

Financial Ratios Comparison
The companies financial ratios can be compared with the ratios of other equivalent companies
between business sectors at one point of time. These comparisons provide explanations on the
relative financial status and performance of the company compared to the relative performance of
its competitors. Comparisons are usually made with other companies in the same business sector
and the benchmark is assumed to be the suitable value for a company. The assumption here is for
the companies in the same business sector to have the almost identical financial ratios. If the ratio of
a company shows a significant difference with the standard ratio, then further investigation must be
done to find the cause of that difference. For evaluation, a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Inventory turnover measures the efficiency of inventory management. It shows the number of
times the inventory can be sold in a year. The higher the inventory turnover, the better, as it is an
indication that the company is able to sell its inventory quickly and reduce the chances of obsolete
inventory.
Inventory turnover is obtained by dividing the cost of goods sold with inventory. The calculation of
inventory turnover for Company ABC is shown as follows

Golden State Warriors Team Analysis
It s no surprise that when a team starts to break records at a rapid pace, people start to wonder
whether they are the on of the best teams all time, if not the greatest. That s what the current
Golden State Warriors team is doing right now. People did not expect them to be playing at such
a high level after their historic year last year. They started off this year with a bang, behind
reigning MVP Stephen Curry, and they are yet to slow down. They are currently on pace to break
the single season record set by the Chicago Bulls in 1996 behind Michael Jordan, and this run is
starting people to debate whether this Warriors team is better than the Bulls team from 1996, who
are currently considered the greatest team of all time. Many different claims have been brought
up, such as the Bulls are better because they had Michael Jordan or the Warriors are better because
they have a deeper team. Those supporting the Warriors have agued that the records they are

The Battle Of War And War
There are many different components to war, far beyond the soldiers and battlefields. Soldiers
at war may make the ultimate sacrifice in the sequence of battle, but societies at war deal with
the compromise. War requires more non renewable resources than any other industry in the
world, the most abundant of those resources being humans. Since July 4, 1776 the US has been
in some sort of conflict for 222 of the 239 years since that day. Humans require more basic
necessities than any other living organism on the planet. The resources necessary to support a war
are endless and can have massive affects on industry, geopolitical structure, populations,
educational institutions, and much, much more. With The US having actively participated in war
almost the entirety of its existence, war has been impacting everyone and everything in existence
be it living or not. Humans alone, without the resources necessary to participate in war, require at
least sustenance and shelter just to sustain life. Beyond that there are human needs such as
clothing and skills to sustain life within a society. For each of these individuals it is mandatory to
obtain one outfit of clothing, one meal a day that is sufficient enough to avoid poor nutrition, one
place to sleep. For the women and women of our armed forces these needs are met and merely
more. At three meals a day, a place to sleep usually four or more to one room, and three daily
outfits including footwear, we can see the militaryis rather

Reaction Paper On Salicylates
Salicylates are nonsteroidal anti inflammatory agents that are widely used as antipyretic,
analgesics, and anti inflammatory products. Variety of prescriptions and over the counter
preparations contain salicylates, therefore chronic dosing which can cause toxicity is a common
emergency problem. Salicylates are weak acids and well absorbed from the stomach and small
intestine. Peak plasma salicylate levels occur in 15 to 20 minutes after ingestion of therapeutic
doses, whereas with overdose peak serum salicylate concentrations are delayed and achieved
after 4 to 6 hours due to bezoar formation and pylorospasm. Also, taking extended release, enteric
coated preparations delay absorption and peak concentrations. Approximately, 80 to 90 percent of
salicylate is protein bound, mainly albumin, and distributed throughout body tissues. In the case
of overdose, however, patient will experience an increase in the free fraction of salicylate in the
plasma and the amount of drug reaching the tissues will be enhanced due to the saturation of
protein binding sites. At physiologic pH, which is 7.40, most salicylate molecules are ionized and

One industry in particular that had essentially avoided China in the years prior to the resurgence
of the country s economy was the Quick Service Industry. China had never truly experienced
western restaurants like KFC or McDonalds, and the late 1980 s was the perfect time for the two
companies to begin their journey into the country. Not only was China a good fit based upon
their food preference, being that they are large consumers of meat, but there was also a
heightened interest into what the United States could bring to the country. For so many years,
China had been closed off to the rest of the world, but overtime the country began to realize that
it would be beneficial to learn about other countries, and allow them entry into the country.
However, with all things good come some hurdles that make companies looking to expand have
to work harder to achieve their goal. For all of the good that came with selecting China as a
foreign market to enter, there was some major obstacles, one of which being the wealth of the
citizens. Although China has a very large population, there was a major breakdown of wealth

Tourism As A Source Of Revenue Managing Destinations Essay
In today s competitive economies and with growth of tourism as a source of revenue managing
destinations is an important and integral part of controlling tourism s environmental impacts and
promoting sustainable tourism in the region. Destination management includes planned business
permits to organizations, land use planning, environmental and other regulations and various other
methods for the development and operations of activities related to tourism. According to UNWTO
The programme for Destination Management is committed to respond positively to the growing
need for systematic, multidisciplinary and intersectoral strategies for tourism at local, regional and

The Methods Of Advertising In The Advertising Industry
The advertising industry uses many techniques to grab the attention of customers in order to
promote products and services. Different products or services require different methods to reach the
preferred clientele. One method, SEO (Search Engine Optimization), is used by large companies to
record what kind of ads interest different profiles of people. Methods vary from large corporations,
down to the mom and pop gas stations. Products and services typically appeal to specific customers
and their problems, businesses know this and offer solutions to those needs. However, some
companies create needs in their consumers, usually through products that cause dependency or by
convincing impulse buyers that they can t live without the product. According to Statista, an online
statistics journal with more than 18,000 sources, America spends more money on advertisingthan
any other country in the world. The advertisement rate grows every year, as we discover new
social media outlets to distribute information. As companies grow and develop, they target
specific audiences by age, gender, location and more, based on data gathered from social media,
television ratings and other forms of responses like surveys and reviews. Advertising has been
around ever since there were products to be sold, or money to be made. An Irish journalist from
1952 wrote, Wise advertising will preserve the goodwill of former customers, keeping them loyal
to the brand (MacCormack, 138) . This rule is

Most research evidence is supporting the idea that helicopter parenting is harmful. It s clear that
there has been changes in recent years with students and the common factor happens to be

self assurance stripped away to be held by them. Being loving and supportive is also not enough to
help reverse the damage done by the smothering involvement so, no matter how helicopter parents
go about managing their children, they re still managing their children. The only way to solve this
problem is for parents to learn how to let go and find other ways to engage with their child without

Re: Hewlett Packet Singapore Asian Language Printer
Situation Description
Hewlett Packard is looking to manufacture the company s first Asian language printer. The
company is looking to sell the printer in Asian markets including Japan, but there are significant
risks involved with sell the printer in Japan. Japan s market is already saturated with competition
including Epson and Canon. Epson and Canon already off a desktop inkjet printer that is smaller in
size than HP s Deskjet printer. The Japanese culture also tends not to purchase from brands that are
not well known in the Japanese market for fear the company may go out of business. Brand
recognition is important when entering the Japanese market.
Recommended Solution
The recommended solution for HP entering the Japanese market is two fold. The company must
first take the existing DeskJet product and innovate upon that technology to make a product that
differentiates itself from the competition. According to Warsh (1995) if you succeed in making
people think you are better than the rest, you can earn somewhat higher margins than the supplier

The Importance Of Employee Empowerment
Employee empowerment is important, even if you believe in a traditional type of employee
management. Empowerment of your employees has the ability to turn your organization around
and make it more successful than it previously was. In some organizations employee empowerment
is absolutely needed. They type of organizations that need employee empowerment are basically
any business that has employees who have to work together as a team. Empowerment also does not
just mean to ask your employees their opinion, empowerment of your employees means to not only
seek their opinions but implement them as well(Goetsch Davis, 2014). To gain approval from
management, I would first highlight why I believe it would be beneficial for the organization. I
would put dramatic emphasis on why I feel every employee should feel empowered. Employees
who are empowered are employees who value their position and actually work harder to meet their
goals(Goetsch Davis,2014). After I stated the importance need for having an empowerment
overhaul with our employees, I would then zone in on the things that keep the organization
operational.
Employee empowerment gives the organization the opportunity to get the information from
employees that deal within the organization all day. The employees know what needs to be changed
in order for things to run more smoothly. Showing management that employee empowerment can
grow their business while at the same time making their employees feel valued is important.

Domestic Terrorism And Its Effect On Terrorism Essay
Domestic terrorism consists of violations against federal and state law that put humans into danger.
The purpose of domestic terrorism is to influence or to instill fear into the population and
government. Terrorism comes in forms of gun violence, assassinations, and destruction (1). Since
1970, there have been 2,608 attacks and 226 fatal attacks up until 2011 (3). In 1867, the
development of dynamite contributed to increasing terrorism, and radicals have used explosives to
bring attention to political issues within the country. This invention led to the Haymarket Affair,
Los Angeles Times, and the Preparedness Day bombings (2). What has further caused domestic
terrorism has been the argument over who is an American. This explains the emergence of the
Boston Tea Party and the white supremacy of the Ku Klux Klan which both occurred to claim
what being an authentic American means (3). After the Cold war, domestic intelligence and law
enforcement suppressed terrorist plots, but since the leader of al Qaeda increased website usage
in 2003, more internet terrorist sites have grown. In 2009, the FBI stated that there were
approximately 15,000 websites that advocated terrorism with 10,000 sites still active on 80% of
U.S based servers. (4) An example of an attack was the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995 which
resulted in 168 people dead and 600 people injured; the motivation for this was to show the

Behavior Modification And Operant Conditioning
The effort to complete a successful change in behavior is known as behavior modification. The
whole definition of the term as discovered by psychologist B.F Skinner for the best way to
understand behavior is to look at the causes of an action and its consequences. He called this
approach operant conditioning(McLeod). The name which went on to be distinguishable from the
term classical conditioning which is commonly referenced to the study of Pavlov s dog. Behavior
modification/operant condition is drastically different from this in that the have several techniques
both positive and negative to insure a positive change in condition. Does this always work? The
experiment and the results are proof in case for each individual study . B.F Skinner first showed us
operant conditioningthrough the use of animals (rats/pigeons) to show how the effects of positive
/negative reinforces as techniques help the progression of a modification in behavior (also known
as operant conditioning). Which do you suppose is more effective a positive reinforcement or a
negative reinforcement in operant conditioning? B.F Skinner developed three different type of
responses to signify the importance of his study ; Neutral Operants, Reinforcers, and Punishers
(McLeod). They are defined as below: Netural Operants responses from the environment that
neither increase or decrease the probability of a behavior being repeated.(McLeod) Reinforcers
there are two types: positive and negative.

Personal Reflection Paper
My son, Ricky is now six years old and he has undergone many milestones and changes to be who
he is today. All throughout Ricky s life I have worked on his intelligence, morals, and social
skills so he can become a valuable member of society. In regards to Ricky s intelligence, I have
worked on his ability to read and his sleep habits which correlate with his intelligence. In regards
to Ricky s morals, I have stressed the value of honesty and treating others kindly. Lastly, Ricky is
practicing sociodramatic play and participating in recreational activities to gain social skills.
When Ricky was born I vowed to improve his intelligence. This is now increasingly important
since Ricky is in school. I have been advancing Ricky s intelligence through practicing private
speech. Since kindergarten, Ricky has been having difficulty with phonological awareness and
reading. Even in the first grade, Ricky is unable to read independently, however, his teacher is
not concerned. I, on the contrary, am concerned, so I made the choice for Ricky to receive
tutoring twice a week. While receiving assistance in reading and writing, I have emphasized to
the tutor how I wish for them to praise and practice private speech with Ricky. Private speech is
when the child speaks to themselves when completing a task, reading a passage, and more. Ricky
can practice this tactic with his tutor through reading out loud, stating all the steps necessary to

because Berk and Meyers state, Childrenwho freely use private speech during a challenging

increased engaged attitude and attentiveness will allow him to perform better, therefore
improving his reading skills. When I was around Ricky s age, I was diagnosed as dyslexic and I

performance. However, I am embracing the influence of nature for Ricky, because with early

Saturn Devouring His Son Research Paper
The Myth of Saturn Devouring His Son
The myth of Saturn devouring his son is a dark, morbid, and ghoulish story. The Greek Titan,
Saturn overthrew is father and married the goddess of fertility. Saturn then learned of a prophecy
that one of his sons would overthrow him like he did his father. He then became obsessed with
thwarting the prophecy. At the birth of each child, Saturn would devour the infant. Saturn s wife
hid their last child, Zeus, whom fully grown, fulfilled the prophecy and became ruler of the
Olympians. There are rumors that Saturn would get sexual pleasure out of consuming his children
but that has never been confirmed. Many artists over the years have painted this myth, putting their
own creative twist on it. Two very well known artists who drew inspiration from the myth are
Francisco Goya with his work Saturn Devouring His Son (1819 1823) and Peter Paul Rubens Title

Rubens paints the flesh being torn off the child, and the viewer s eye is drawn directly there.
Rubens highlights this horrible act of cannibalism with realistic looking figures, and Saturn s total
lack of remorse helps us see how evil his act is. Saturn appears to be in control of the situation,

Lab Experiment On The Effect Of Temperature On Enzymes
Title: Effects of Temperature on Enzymes
Problem/Purpose: How does temperature affect the rate of enzyme activity on its substrate?
Hypothesis: If the temperature increases, then rate of the chemical reaction will increase as well,
and if the temperature decreases, then the rate of reaction will also decrease.
Data:
There were three test tubes in which the experiment was held. A relatively equal sized portion of
raw potato (this contained the enzyme [a biological catalyst] hydrogen peroxidase) was placed in
each tube. Then, enough water to cover the potato was added. Proceeding this, each of the test
tubes were assigned a temperature; cold, room temperature or warm (this was written on the tag so
that they were not confused). The test tube destinated cold was placed in a ice bath for five
minutes. At the same time, the hot test tube was placed in a hot water bath for five minutes.
Meanwhile, the room temperature test tube sat at room temperature for five minutes. When the
five minutes were over, the test tubes were returned to the rack (so that they were able to be
observed). Then, the test tubes were allowed to sit at room temperature for five more minutes.
Once that period of time was over, 2 ml of hydrogen peroxide (the substrate) was added to each
tube.
Once this step was completed, a timer was started and observations were made. Using the timer,
how long cellular respiration (this was noted by the appearance of gas in the tube) took to start was
noted. Noted

My mother was a military brat. The longest she s ever lived anywhere is seven years. She makes no bones about the fact that she doesn t know where she s from. Like the planes my grandfather worked on, my mother was a child of the wind, going here and there, and wherever destiny took her. I suppose my grandmother would say the same thing about me. My egg hatched in Auburn, and since then I have collected roots Auburn, Roanoke, Quito,Temuco, Santiago, Cullman, Florence, and Killen, and have woven them all into a nest that is currently nestled in the branches of Killen. My roost don t trap me in one spot. I am free to fly wherever without hesitation, and if I so desire, bring back some leaves, or branches, or even more roots from the places I visit. At some point I m sure a storm of life, or an unexpected gust of wind will blow me out of Killen s tree. So I ll glide where the wind takes me, and rebuild my nest in a new tree with new roots. I m sure my grandmother thinks her little bird is an unstable wreck, and in some ways I am. My ADHD and scattered brains have turned me into quite the character. The payoff is worth it though. Why watch the seasons slip by the same old burrow when you can soar to the heavens and gaze upon the whole world? I ll always have my nest to come back to, and with each blustery, windy trip to a new tree, my nest of roots grows bigger and grander. My senior year. The men in the store appear somewhat stunned, but appreciative, in a hormonal way, of the young girl s attire. Young Sammy quietly observes the girls mentally, but does make a few crude comments addressing the girls physical features. Stokesie the 22 year old married man, makes a verbal acknowledgment of the girls. McMahon the old butcher makes a more physical, obvious, and inappropriate observation of ogling the threesome. Du Bois William Edward Burghardt Du Bois known simply as W.E.B. was 83 when the government indicted him as a foreign agent in 1951. In his career as an educator, Du Bois taught history, economics, sociology, Greek, Latin and English literature. Du Bois overriding emphasis as a black activist was solidarity. As an intellectual, he believed he had a special responsibility in promoting black unity, a belief that some people have interpreted as arrogance. In an 1897 article, The Conservation of the Races, Du Bois wrote, For the development of Negro genius, only Negroes bound and welded together, Negroes inspired by one vast ideal, can work out in its fullness the great message we have for humanity. Before the Russian Revolution, he called blacks living in the United States, the advanced guard of Negro people. In 1899, Du Bois published The Philadelphia Negro, a pioneering work of sociology. Limits Of IMC Lastly, IMC saves a lot of money because it eliminates duplication and replication in areas such as graphics, imagery and photography since they can be displayed and used in advertising, exhibitions and sales events. By using a single agency for all communication, the agency fees are significantly reduced and even if there are different agencies, time is conserved when meetings bring all the agencies under one roof for strategic planning, creative sessions, briefings, or tactical. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In most but not all organisations, there appear to be very few people who have real time hands on experience of all the marketing communication techniques. The absence of such expertise and knowledge is further compounded by an absence of commitment. Realising and working on such limitations is the first step in efficiently rolling out IMC. Also, it is not an uncommon sight to notice turf wars or internal power fights where a few managers resist having some of their decisions (including budgets) decided or even influenced by anyone from some other department. It shouldn t matter who introduced the creative idea, but more often than not, it does. An advertising agency might not be very comfortable about having developed a creative idea by a PR or some direct marketing consultant. IMC could also deter creativity. No more unconventional and sassy sales promotions unless they somehow fit into the overall marketing communication strategy agreed upon within the organisation. The thrill of impactful creativity may be choked, but the creative challenge may be bigger and ultimately more gratifying when operating within a closely integrated, creative ... The reefs are capable of absorbing carbon dioxide which makes them sick and kills them eventually. The ice caps are melting due to global warming, which means water levels rise. When water levels rise it is harder for reefs to get the sunlight they need to survive. Global warming is causing our main deserts to dry up even more. It is causing all of the the water in the desert to evaporate constantly. Some areas out there where it is still wet will receive long dry weather until precipitation occurs. Water levels are expected to drop nearly 30% in the next few years. Warm air in the tropics is heating up which means there will be more tropical thunderstorms, this will give the deserts and other dry places not in the tropic region a longer and tougher drought. Soldiers at war may make the ultimate sacrifice in the sequence of battle, but societies at war deal with the compromise. Variety of prescriptions and over the counter preparations contain salicylates, therefore chronic dosing which can cause toxicity is a common emergency problem. Salicylates are weak acids and well absorbed from the stomach and small intestine. Empowerment also does not just mean to ask your employees their opinion, empowerment of your employees means to not only seek their opinions but implement them as well(Goetsch Davis, 2014). To gain approval from management, I would first highlight why I believe it would be beneficial for the organization. I would put dramatic emphasis on why I feel every employee should feel empowered. Employees who are empowered are employees who value their position and actually work harder to meet their goals(Goetsch Davis,2014). After I stated the importance need for having an empowerment overhaul with our employees, I would then zone in on the things that keep the organization operational. Employee empowerment gives the organization the opportunity to get the information from employees that deal within the organization all day. The employees know what needs to be changed in order for things to run more smoothly. Showing management that employee empowerment can grow their business while at the same time making their employees feel valued is important. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 38. Domestic Terrorism And Its Effect On Terrorism Essay Domestic terrorism consists of violations against federal and state law that put humans into danger. The purpose of domestic terrorism is to influence or to instill fear into the population and government. Terrorism comes in forms of gun violence, assassinations, and destruction (1). Since 1970, there have been 2,608 attacks and 226 fatal attacks up until 2011 (3). In 1867, the development of dynamite contributed to increasing terrorism, and radicals have used explosives to bring attention to political issues within the country. This invention led to the Haymarket Affair, Los Angeles Times, and the Preparedness Day bombings (2). What has further caused domestic terrorism has been the argument over who is an American. This explains the emergence of the Boston Tea Party and the white supremacy of the Ku Klux Klan which both occurred to claim what being an authentic American means (3). After the Cold war, domestic intelligence and law enforcement suppressed terrorist plots, but since the leader of al Qaeda increased website usage in 2003, more internet terrorist sites have grown. In 2009, the FBI stated that there were approximately 15,000 websites that advocated terrorism with 10,000 sites still active on 80% of U.S based servers. (4) An example of an attack was the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995 which resulted in 168 people dead and 600 people injured; the motivation for this was to show the opposition against the U.S government by bombing the Alfred P. Murrah Federal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Behavior Modification And Operant Conditioning The effort to complete a successful change in behavior is known as behavior modification. The whole definition of the term as discovered by psychologist B.F Skinner for the best way to understand behavior is to look at the causes of an action and its consequences. He called this approach operant conditioning(McLeod). The name which went on to be distinguishable from the term classical conditioning which is commonly referenced to the study of Pavlov s dog. Behavior modification/operant condition is drastically different from this in that the have several techniques both positive and negative to insure a positive change in condition. Does this always work? The experiment and the results are proof in case for each individual study . B.F Skinner first showed us operant conditioningthrough the use of animals (rats/pigeons) to show how the effects of positive /negative reinforces as techniques help the progression of a modification in behavior (also known as operant conditioning). Which do you suppose is more effective a positive reinforcement or a negative reinforcement in operant conditioning? B.F Skinner developed three different type of responses to signify the importance of his study ; Neutral Operants, Reinforcers, and Punishers (McLeod). They are defined as below: Netural Operants responses from the environment that neither increase or decrease the probability of a behavior being repeated.(McLeod) Reinforcers there are two types: positive and negative. ... • 40. Personal Reflection Paper My son, Ricky is now six years old and he has undergone many milestones and changes to be who he is today. All throughout Ricky s life I have worked on his intelligence, morals, and social skills so he can become a valuable member of society. In regards to Ricky s intelligence, I have worked on his ability to read and his sleep habits which correlate with his intelligence. In regards to Ricky s morals, I have stressed the value of honesty and treating others kindly. Lastly, Ricky is practicing sociodramatic play and participating in recreational activities to gain social skills. When Ricky was born I vowed to improve his intelligence. This is now increasingly important since Ricky is in school. I have been advancing Ricky s intelligence through practicing private speech. Since kindergarten, Ricky has been having difficulty with phonological awareness and reading. Even in the first grade, Ricky is unable to read independently, however, his teacher is not concerned. I, on the contrary, am concerned, so I made the choice for Ricky to receive tutoring twice a week. While receiving assistance in reading and writing, I have emphasized to the tutor how I wish for them to praise and practice private speech with Ricky. Private speech is when the child speaks to themselves when completing a task, reading a passage, and more. Ricky can practice this tactic with his tutor through reading out loud, stating all the steps necessary to complete the activity and more verbal actions. My choice for Ricky practicing private speech is because Berk and Meyers state, Childrenwho freely use private speech during a challenging activity are more attentive and involved and show better task performance (323). Ricky s increased engaged attitude and attentiveness will allow him to perform better, therefore improving his reading skills. When I was around Ricky s age, I was diagnosed as dyslexic and I fear that he will have this learning disability. I, too, was unable to read independently in the first grade, however, my choice for Ricky to practice private speech will assist in his academic performance. However, I am embracing the influence of nature for Ricky, because with early detection and actions plasticity, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The child in his arms has his head thrown back screaming and the audience can see the horrified look on his face. Saturn s head is down with a look of determination as he tears his son s flesh. Rubens paints the flesh being torn off the child, and the viewer s eye is drawn directly there. Rubens highlights this horrible act of cannibalism with realistic looking figures, and Saturn s total lack of remorse helps us see how evil his act is. Saturn appears to be in control of the situation, and is choosing to destroy his son to keep his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Lab Experiment On The Effect Of Temperature On Enzymes Title: Effects of Temperature on Enzymes Problem/Purpose: How does temperature affect the rate of enzyme activity on its substrate? Hypothesis: If the temperature increases, then rate of the chemical reaction will increase as well, and if the temperature decreases, then the rate of reaction will also decrease. Data: There were three test tubes in which the experiment was held. A relatively equal sized portion of raw potato (this contained the enzyme [a biological catalyst] hydrogen peroxidase) was placed in each tube. Then, enough water to cover the potato was added. Proceeding this, each of the test tubes were assigned a temperature; cold, room temperature or warm (this was written on the tag so that they were not confused). The test tube destinated cold was placed in a ice bath for five minutes. At the same time, the hot test tube was placed in a hot water bath for five minutes. Meanwhile, the room temperature test tube sat at room temperature for five minutes. When the five minutes were over, the test tubes were returned to the rack (so that they were able to be observed). Then, the test tubes were allowed to sit at room temperature for five more minutes. Once that period of time was over, 2 ml of hydrogen peroxide (the substrate) was added to each tube. Once this step was completed, a timer was started and observations were made. Using the timer, how long cellular respiration (this was noted by the appearance of gas in the tube) took to start was noted. Noted ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
