Adolescents believe that since they are not eighteen they will not be punished for
the crimes they commit. The death penalty is appropriate for juveniles in certain

The group as a whole seemed to really have a positive process. The group members
started off a bit quiet or shy, but quickly became very cohesive and recognition of
different generations, and personal backgrounds was seen. The group was at the
middle phase and entering ending phase. Recognizing that ending phase was
approaching was talked about, as well as feelings about ending the group. The
members expressed sadness but also felt happy with how much closer they felt. Signs
that the group is in middle phase and entering ending are: elaborating skills, empathic

are two African American poems that differ in tone and style. Both of these poems
however, despite their differences, address prominent historical aspect of African
American slavery and present the misery of Black men living in America during

African Americans facing the clash between bondage and freedom. Dunbar
utilizes the analogy of caged bird in his poem Sympathy to expose the emotions

The film Jaws is deemed as one of the greatest movies of all time, it is not only a
movie, but it changed the movie industry due to its success. The success of Jaws is
a result of the mass of advertising the producers did. Jaws was the first film to have

grossing filmat the time. The vast amount of detail the producers went into

Everyone has their own struggles that they go through in life. Some may be self
inflicted, while others are just the cards that were dealt to them. Sherman Alexie s
story collection The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven tells of the cards
that were given to people on a reservation. This compilation of stories was the
framework for Smoke Signals, which won two awards at Sundance Film Festivals.
Alexie has also written other novels and poems in regard to the Native American
culture. The Lone Rangerand Tonto Fistfight in Heaven was an interesting read to
say the least. It tells of the alcoholism, crime, relationships, and traditions of both
the present and past residents of the reservation, as well as their ancestors before
the reservation was in place. Overall this book is a representation of Native
American lives both on and off of the reservation, with interaction with the white
people and the governing forces of the reservation. I was looking forward to seeing
if this collection of stories could change the way I picture reservations. I have
viewed the outskirts of a few and they did not leave a good image. The reservation
in the novel is located in Spokane. From the beginning the collection has attention
grabbing features, telling of a boy named Victor who is witness to his family s

In slight contrast to Piggy s innovation and practical knowledge, Simon possesses
more of a spiritual knowledge, a presence of purity and peace he brings, both with
his words and his actions. Signifying examples of such characteristics are when he

Animal Shelters have been the source of many rescued domesticated animals.
Receiving about 8 10 million animals a year, they are important in keeping stray
and abandoned dogs and cats off the streets in order to give them a safe and loving
new home. According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to
Animals (ASPCA), 47% of dogs and 42% of cats are rehomed (ASPCA.org).
However, what happens to the other 53 58% of those animals that were not given a
new home? Well, many of the animals left will be in the shelter trying to gain the
attention of a fitting new owner excited with the thought of adopting them. However,
after many months, the shelters become overpopulated with the number of dogs and
cats that enter the compound leaving the shelter no choice but to remove the older
animals by way of euthanasia. Euthanizing these animals are a way to decrease the
surplus population roaming the streets and in the shelters. Although euthanasia may
be called for in some cases, such as old age or terminally ill animals, it is inhumane to
euthanize perfectly healthy ones for the sake of space and controlled population
sizes. Overpopulation is one of the top reasons for animals being euthanized in
shelters. About 1.5 million sheltered animals are euthanized annually due to
