a researched case study on vibe magazine. due to my music magazine being a hip hop magazine, i researched vibe so that i would know what to put in a hip hop magazine.

Billboard magazine was first published in 1894 in New York as a trade publication focused on bill posting and outdoor amusements, before shifting to focus on the music industry in the 1960s. It is now published by Prometheus Global Media and covers music news, reviews, charts, interviews and celebrity gossip, with a typical readership of older teenagers interested in music and artists. The magazine maintains consistent layout trademarks including a central celebrity image and uses of colors like white, black, blue, red and yellow.
Vibe case study
Vibe magazine was launched in 1993 by Quincy Jones but ceased publication in 2006 before being bought by InterMedia Partners LP. It targets an audience of 18-30 year old music enthusiasts, with a 50/50 gender split, through coverage of hip hop, rap, fashion and celebrity gossip. The magazine utilizes a visual style with bold fonts, bright colors, and iconography associated with rap/hip hop to attract its target demographic. It is currently published bi-monthly and owned by the private equity firm InterMedia Partners LP based in New York City.
Media presentation
NME (New Musical Express) is the longest running music magazine published weekly in the UK since 1952. It was initially published as a non-glossy tabloid and is now published by ICP Media. The current editor Krissi Murison is the first female editor. Vibe magazine, launched in 1993, is issued quarterly and features R&B and hip-hop artists. It is aimed at a young, urban audience interested in hip-hop culture. Q magazine, first published in 1986, covers indie, rock, and alternative music and is published monthly by Bauer Media Group.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
