  • 3. What is LinkedIn? Imagine your resume and your Rolodex got together and went on-line. LinkedIn is THE social networking platform for professional relationships.
  • 4. Building Your Profile
    • Sign up or log in to LinkedIn ( http://www.linkedin.com )
      • Turn off your public profile (settings  public profile)
      • Customize your public profile URL
    • Profile basics to get to 100%:
      • Profile summary
      • Current position
      • TWO past positions
      • Education
      • Specialties (Use keywords!)
      • Profile photo
      • Three recommendations (minimum)
  • 5. Building Your Profile
    • Getting recommendations
      • Find colleagues on LinkedIn and recommend them
      • Reach out to your network by phone or e-mail
      • Invite your contacts to join LinkedIn
    • When your profile is essentially complete (85% or more)
      • Turn ON your public profile (settings  public profile)
