2. I decided to take this picture
against a brown lit background to
carry on with the ‘lighting’ theme
of my magazine
Created a
individual style of
my artists by
making them dress
different which
links with the idea
of Dr. Jekyll and
Mr. Hyde (two
split personalities)
Lighting in photo is mainly coming
from the bottom up which links to
the title of my magazine ‘Light Up’
Headphones used as a
prop to signify artists
love for music
Used a mid-shot for my front
cover as it shows the body
language of my artists more
effectively
3. Made artist us a
distinctive sign
used by artist to
create a sense of
individualism
Even though I wanted
each artists clothing to be
their own personal style,
the use of urban wear like
hats and hoody’s
represents Hip-Hop
culture
Purposely made each artists
background the same but different,
the artist on the lefts background is
much rougher than the artists on the
left which again links to the idea of Dr.
Long-Shot used
4. Chose to have the
pictures done at night
so that the lights shown
would have more of an
effect and shows
similarities to my
masthead
Mostly this photo was taken to show my artists all of a sudden fame and to
show how their popularity has soared massively shown by them giving a
young man a autograph. This also suggests there humbleness and respect
towards their fans
Mid-Shot used
5. Again I chose to use ‘signs’ to show my artists
individuality and to represent them as being
real urban artists
Artist pointing up links to
title of magazine ‘Light Up’
Magazine
Different choice of
background but with
same lighting effect

6. Shows a playful side to my artists and not the stereotypical bad boy image
associated with Hip-Hop artists to show their individuality.
Peace sign
Again lighting is seen but
in a different view this
time Mid-Shot used
7. Yellow background creates
the ‘lighting’ effect without
me actually having to use
lights
Use of a sign showing artists
individuality
Headphones and jewellery
used not only to show his love
for music but also to represent
Hip-Hop culture
