2. The questionnaire I produced before making my
product really helped me with understanding what I
needed to add or have on my magazine for it to
represent rock fans.
I produced a magazine with the most popular colours
out of the questionnaire, I did edit them to make a
consistent and professional colour palette but the
colours were based on the audience. The colours
used can be connected with rock music. Black can be
connected to being dark and mysterious which can be
used in the lyrics of rock songs, blue can be shown as
‘being cold’ and ‘stern’ this worked well with my front
cover image as the model is alone and is very closed
off from her emotions. Red is a popular colour as it
can be seen as passionate which could connote the
artists passion for music, the rage in their music or
the energy and aggression they possess.
3. My target audience for my magazine is teenagers
of both genders therefore I made sure to give a
range of different articles that either/or as well as
both genders would be interested in. Using a
woman model on the front should attract males
as an attractive model and females as an
inspirational model. Because my target audience
is teenagers I decided to keep the language very
simple, sentences short and include lots of images
to keep the audience interested.
The cover lines I have created were based on
the questionnaire I created before I started the
production of my product. I used most of the
favourite artists/bands and added a few local
bands to make the magazine a source of
information as fans as well as introduce new
artists and bands to the public which is very
important to keep the music business fresh and
full of young new rock artists/bands.
4. The photographs I used in my product are meant to attract the target audience by representing
rock music, therefore I had taken live pictures of bands and used the images that shown their
passion for music. I also included a picture of the o2 academy which is were a lot of rock bands
play at so the audience are well known with the arena. The other photographs I used shown
very minimal facial expressions, I used these images as rock music can be connoted as deep and
meaningful as well as full of emotions therefore the artists facial expressions were
very minimal as all their emotions are used for their music and
performing.
