2. HOW IT USES FORMS AND CONVENTIONS OF
REAL MEDIA PRODUCTS:
I believe that our two minute film opening
corresponds with the traditional conventions of a
romantic genre.
Within the two minute opening we see:
3. MUSIC
The types of music we have used is calm and
peaceful, these types of music are commonly found
in romantic genres.
4. LOGO
Our logo has colours such as purple, pink and
yellow. Pink can help represent love. The logo also
has a silhouette of a man and woman kissing –
enhancing the idea of a romantic genre.
5. WEDDING RING
This symbolises love, commitment and a
relationship
6. FLOWERS
Flowers are commonly seen in Romantic films and
represents beauty.
7. HOLDING HANDS
This is always seen in a romantic film and straight
away tells the audience of the type of genre.
8. LAUGHING AND SMILING
This shows the relationship between the two
heterosexual characters which is important for this
type of genre.
9. KISSING
Kissing is key in romantic genres as it truly sets the
scene and mood of the film.
10. LIGHTING LEVELS
Lighting levels are important in romantic genre as
certain levels of lighting enhance the relationships
and mood of characters. We did lots of high level
lighting to help enforce the happy romantic genre
and feel of the film.
11. CAMERA SHOTS
Lots of mid shots are used in our film – this helps
the audience connect more with the characters and
understand the relationship between them. Close
ups are also used for intimate moments and long
shots to show body language.
12. RELATIONSHIP OF A BOY AND GIRL
In the opening the audience are introduced to the
main characters and form the shots and body
language they can see the relationship between
them.
13. LOCATIONS
The locations we used were typical locations used
in a romantic film. Locations such as by a river or in
a restaurant are commonly seen in a romantic
genre.
