 The Daimler-Benz AG, which is the parent company
of Mercedes Benz, was formed on the 28th of June,
1926.
 This was a merger between Benz & Cie. (founded by
Karl Benz in 1883) and Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft
(founded by Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach
in 1890).
 Until the merger, both the companies operated
individually producing automobiles under their own
company names.

 In August of 1885, the first
patented Motorcycle was made.
 The Daimler Motoren

in 1897.
 The first Mercedes was built as
per request of Emil Jellinek.
 In 1901, Maybach built a superior
version of the car.
 Emil Jellinek ordered 36 of such
cars.
 Thus, Mercedes was born.

The automobile landscape has changed a great deal
over the last few years. It has left big name
manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz looking over their
shoulders and reassessing plans for the future. So, what
do they have in mind for the future?
 New entrants like Google, Apple and of course Tesla
means that established brands like Mercedes-Benz have to
look for ways to become faster and more agile.
 Mercedes-Benz is therefore looking to a future-proof model
of production instead of being on the defensive.
 The company understands the need to retain all the strong
points it has become known for over the years while
introducing new bits that will allow it to compete with
current game changers in the industry. The next S-Class is
hotly anticipated as the first step to this new regime.
 Additionally, Mercedes’ long term emphasis on safety has
seen them give more attention to the development of
autonomous driving technologies. This is important
because the technology has gone a long way to reduce car
accident related deaths.
 Perhaps one of the best things the company has to its
advantage is the experience in finding the right level
compromise. The successful development of a car is
hugely reliant on the making of the best compromises. Big
name companies like Mercedes understand that
compromise is not a good word to use around customers.
However they also understand the need to deliver on
targets even when there is some level of conflict. This is
exactly where experience shines through.
 In summary, Mercedes-Benz is in prime position to excel in
the delivery of new innovations and qualitative consumer
experience in the automobile world even in the face of
newer and seemingly more technical threats.

  • 4.  The Daimler-Benz AG, which is the parent company of Mercedes Benz, was formed on the 28th of June, 1926.  This was a merger between Benz & Cie. (founded by Karl Benz in 1883) and Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft (founded by Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach in 1890).  Until the merger, both the companies operated individually producing automobiles under their own company names.

  • 7.  In August of 1885, the first patented Motorcycle was made.  The Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft was founded in 1890 at Cannstatt.  Belt driven cars in 1892.  Introduced front mounted engine in 1897.  The first Mercedes was built as per request of Emil Jellinek.  In 1901, Maybach built a superior version of the car.  Emil Jellinek ordered 36 of such cars.  Thus, Mercedes was born.
