Definition Of Robotics
Robotics is science of designing or building an application of robots.
Simply , Robotics may be defines as "The study of Robots".The aim
of robotics is to design an efficient robots
Why is Robotics needed?
• Speed.
• Can work in hazardous/dangerous temperature.
• Can do repetitive tasks.
• Can do work with accuracy.
Robotics History
• The term "Robot" was first used in 1920 in a play called "R.U.R" or
"Rossum's Universal Robots" by the Czech writer Karel Capek.
• The word "Robot" comes from the word "Robota", meaning in
Czech, forced, labour, drudgery.
Types Of Robots
• Mobile Robots
• Rolling Robots
• Stationary Robots
• Autonomous Robots
• Remote-Control Robots
Types Of Robots
• Robots are not only used to explore areas. Most robots perform
repeating tasks without ever moving a inch. Most robots are
working in industry settings and are stationary.
• Autonomous robots are self supporting or in other words self
contained. In a way they rely on their own brains.
• Perform variety of tasks.
• Improve in quality.
• Increase in production.
• Perform dangerous tasks that human can't do.
• Used to do repetitive actions.
• Robots do not get sick.
• They can work continuously 24 hours without complaining.
• People can lose jobs in factories.
• It needs a supply of power.
• It needs maintenance to keep it running.
• It costs money to make or buy a robot.
