4. Preparation
• Oracy (5 minutes): Reading of
newspaper cutting and getting the main
idea of that
• Wrap up (5 minutes): Random questions
from students about what they have just
read
5. Presentation
• Routine lesson (15 minutes): Reading of
a short story, “The Selfish Giant” in groups
to answer the questions and reading of a
newspaper article, “The Joys of Reading
Fiction” in pairs to fill the gaps in the end
• Wrap up (5 minutes): Random questions
from students to check their
understanding
6. Practice
• Activity (5 minutes): Reading of a
newspaper article, “Art Matters, Really” in
groups and all the groups are given
different tasks to do related to their
reading
7. Production
• Activity (5 minutes): Reading of a recipe,
“Homemade Sorbet” and answering the
questions in the end
• Homework: A travel broucher, “Pakistan
Culture and History Tours” is given and
students are asked to underline the main
points about Pakistan in it
8. Assessment
Students will be assessed formally on their
ability to
