2. Details
This presentation contains an Album Cover:
FRONT AND BACK, a Single Cover and finally a
magazine advert of the album.
All editing and photography I had produced by
myself using my Nikon D3000 camera and
Macromedia Fireworks Software (editing). My
music theme is pop and the appearance of all
my designs are unique and creative, as I
wanting my work to stand out in a positive
way.
4. Magazine Advert- Analysis
For the image of my magazine advert I wanted to give a ‘house
wife’ look dated around the 1980’s , I thought this look was
unique and I knew I could develop it in many ways. To help
the effect I used colour consistency with the hair curlers and
the outfit which were both yellow and then bright pink nails
matching the pink banner along the bottom of the advert and
also the stage name, Alia Stone and then finally the colour
green around the ‘out now’ font consisted with the green
curlers in the models hair and also the preview of the album
cover in the bottom left of the advert. The background of the
main image was brown however the spotlight I used
developed the wall colour to a pink tint, this is a very light
colour that didn’t stand out which helped all the other
features on the advert to stay in centre of attention.
6. Album Cover: FRONT- Analysis
The theme of the album cover is, pop art, it was
created on Macromedia Fireworks. I think the
front cover works well as it is quite plain with
the white background, however the image is
very bright and effective which makes the
appearance look so good. The effect makes
the image look more like a drawing rather
than a photo.
8. Album Cover: BACK- Analysis
The back of the album cover shows a more
natural emotion expressing laughter and joy,
which reflects the contents of the CD to be
positive, which would encourage bigger
audience to buy the album.
10. Single Cover- Analysis
The front of the Single Cover is completely different to the
Album cover and the magazine advert. Throughout my
research I discovered that many pop artists use a completely
different theme for the image they will use on there single.
The image I used shows slight sadness and a story, which
reflects the lyrics of the song I will use for the music video
‘picking up the pieces’ the effects I used on the image were
mainly writing the song title on the mirror using lipstick, I
thought the idea was unique and also the use of mirrors was
very different. The scenery of the image tells a story, which
would encourage people to buy the single to discover the
meaning behind the image.
