2. JUSTIN BIEBER DIGIPAK ANALYSIS
The front of Justin Bieber’s album ‘Believe’ is very vibrant due to
the colours used. The use of the colours orange and yellow creates
a sense of warmth and comfort for the artist and the person who
has purchased the album. The name of the album is bold and
stands out as it is written across the bottom of the front cover. I like
the use of this as it helps catch the attention of the buyer, it also
makes the album easily distinguished. This front cover is very simple
but also very effective as it shows the artist, tells you who the artist
is and also the name of the album. I like this front cover because
of all these features, I would like my album cover to be similar to
this as it is a professional look.
The CD artwork for the ‘Believe’ album is very
simple but effective. By having the album
name printed bold on the CD helps the buyer
distinguish what album they are listening to.
I like the album artwork but I think it is to
simple and I personally wouldn’t use artwork
like this to use on my as if doesn’t look like it
would appeal to the audience that my
album is targeted at.
The back of the ‘Believe’ album digipak is very bright. It is
in contrast to the front which uses a lot of orange. The
uses of colour yellow help the artist Justin Bieber stand
out as he is wearing dark clothing. The album name is
also shown on the artist’s guitar case this also helps the
audience to identify the album just by looking at the
back cover. The songs are all listed on the left hand side
from top to bottom. I would like to have this kind of style
of song list on the back of the album as it is clear and
helps the buyer identify the songs that the album
includes.
3. NICKI MINAJ DIGIPAK ANALYSIS
This is the front of Nicki Minaj’s album ‘Pink Friday’. Usually when you think of Nicki Minaj you
usually end up thinking about the colour pink because she is majorly associated with the
colour pink this helps the audience to easily identify Nicki Minaj. On the front cover the
word pink is emphasised this helps avert the audiences attention to the album title. The
image of Nicki Minaj is in the centre of the cover. The image is eye-catching and easy to
see. In the image of Nicki Minaj she has pink hair this also relates to the colour pink being
associated with her. In the bottle right corner there is a parental advisory certificate this
advices the audience that the CD content is explicit and perhaps not suitable for the
minor audiences. I like the style of the front cover as it is very simple but still looks
professional. I want my front cover to have the same effect.
This is the actual CD for Nicki Minaj’s album ‘Pink Friday’. On the CD Nicki Minaj’s name is
emphasised in fairly big bold writing, this helps catch the attention of the CD buyer. The
main colour of the CD is pink this relates to the front cover of the album because the main
colour on that is pink also. The CD follows the main house style of the front cover. Just like
the front cover the CD also has an image of the artist on it. Having an image of Nicki Minaj
on the CD keeps the design style consistent. I like the use of a house style to follow
because it helps the digipak look professional. I may consider using some of these features
within my digipak.
