Q4 – Who Are My Target
Audience?
How I Chose My Target Audience
Two factors affected my choice of
target audience for my music
magazine, the first of which was my
questionnaire results. In my
questionnaire I asked what type of
music people liked. The second
largest majority was Rock, as a result
I chose rock as my target audience,
and as I know more about classic
rock than any other genre, I thought
that classic rock would be better for
me, as I could appeal to the target
audience better as I understand the
target audience.
My Target Audience
Since I had chosen classic rock as my musical genre, I obviously had to appeal
to classic rock fans with my magazine, therefore I set out analysing rock
magazines.
From what I researched and what I already knew, I found that classic rock
bands commonly wore extremely bright clothes, used guitar props and were
often seen in entire-band pose mid shots.
I researched more aspects which you can see in my analysis section earlier in
the blog.
