There are 2 ways (2 verb tenses) to talk
about the present in English:
• Simple present
• Present progressive (or present
continuous)

1. Use with non action verbs (verbs with no movement):
a) state: be, seem, appear, exist
b) possession: have, own, possess
c) feelings & needs: like, love, hate, feel, want, need, wish
d) thought: think, believe, know, imagine, understand
e) the senses: see, hear, taste, smell
**Non action verbs don’t make the present progressive
