1. What type of media institution
might distribute your media project
and why?

2. What is distribution?
Film distribution is the way in which companies
make their film viewable to their audience. This
is achieved in a variety of ways such as movie
theatres, dvds, movie subscription services.
Company often use heavy advertisement to
support this and sponsor events for promotion.
3. Distribution companys
A film distributer is a company responsible for the marketing of a film. They
set a release date for the film and how it will be made available to view e.g
cinema or dvd. An example of this is 20th century fox. They are one of the big
name companies that distribute big screen favorites such as the Simpsons
movie. 20th century fox is a world wide recognized brand. Another company is
Lionsgate entertainment corporation. Lionsgate also distributes many big
name films and is fairly new to the film business considering it was created in
1997 and is now globally recognized. I believe both of these companies would
benefit our films distribution because both of them have shown interest in
teenage films and have made distributed similar films to ours.
4. OUR MOVIE
I believe that our movie will not only appeal to uk audiences but
international ones as well. This is because the social situations in
our film can be relatable across many different generations and
cultures making it appear to a broad audience. The promotion of
our film will be a big build up to the release date. There would
be advertisements on busses and this would come to the
attention of commuters each day. Also we will have our film
available in 2D and 3D so that the option is there for the
audience who enjoy 3D viewings. We would release the film on
dvd 4 months after cinema release so that the public can take it
home to the small screen.
