This company helps distribute within New York specialising in Indie filmmakers.
They offer different packages which suit different types of customers. For example the
Oscar Qualifying Package which allows the film to be considered for an Oscar
nomination. They do all the work needed to launch the film from playing it in one of
their cinemas for a set period of time, to setting up a Google Adwords account to
promote the films. They can also market your film for digital platforms such as Xbox
and Netflix and on DVD to be retailed for major chains, schools and libraries.
The follower
Our film could be high budget production which means that the cast we could
have well known A-list celebrities. The storyline is very relevant to present day
which means that people will take an interest in the film. The film would
hopefully have a large budget to allow high quality so that it meets the industry
standards. As our film was inspired by Taken which is very popular and multiple
sequels have been made, there is strong potential for our film to do well.
Therefore I think that a distribution company such as 20th Century Fox would be
perfect to promote our film. Our film has the potential to be successful in the UK
and internationally in western areas such as North America. We have a unique
selling point because of the actor in the film, also how the film is appropriate to
present day and the type of people who would view it.
Marketing
There are many different ways of marketing a film to promote it. From social media, to TV
adverts and newspaper adverts. Some strategies we would use to make our film well known
include the use of social media such as Facebook and Twitter pages, TV advertisements at
appropriate times of the day so that more of our target audience will see it and in-store
adverts like posters merchandise to get people interested.
