2. What does a production company do? In film, a production company is a company which is hired by the film studio company which is responsible for the physical production. The company may also be responsible for raising funding for the production of the film, depending on the film studio companies needs. Film studio companies choose what production company they want to use, depending on the size, budget and quality of the film. Some famous examples of production companies are;

3. Our production company We decided to use the image of a Fennec for our production company logo. We thought that the image would look very effective on screen and that it was simple enough for it to stand out very well to the audience.

4. What does a distributor do? The distributor of a film is an individual or group of people that are responsible for releasing a film to the public. They may also be responsible for the promotion, marketing and advertising of a film. Distributors have to have contact with the producer and the exhibitor. Distribution is the stage after production in the process of making a film, distributors are responsible for getting the film into the cinemas, on DVD, the soundtrack and other merchandise related to the film.Major filmcompanies rely on distributors to allow the public to have access in some way to the film.

5. Our distribution companies and why we have chosen them We chose Metrodome because they also distributed the film ‘Shifty’ and our film has many similarities with the film, we are aware that the distribution company has experience in the chosen genre.

6. How our film might have been funded Our film could have been funded by donations from the National Lottery. A large amount of money made from the National Lottery is donated to British films via The UK film council.The UK film council also helps funding through other funds, such as The Film Fund. The UK film council uses the these different funds to help fund British films as a way of allowing a worldwide audience to experience British film. Like the film ‘Shifty’, our film would be funded by three production companies and two film distributors.
