ABB Case Study
Evolution of Organizational structure in ABB
1988: Matrix Organization
1990: Decentralization with 1500 legally independent units and 5000 profit centers.
1993: Matrix Organization according to product and region – Continental organization
1998: Product oriented sector based organization
2001: Customer oriented sector based organization
In 1993, the Group was organized on the one hand on a product–oriented basis into four corporate divisions with a total of some 50 business areas and
on the other hand on an area–oriented basis into three geographic regions with 1,300 legally independent companies and a total of some 5,000
autonomous local units. The local units are set up as so–called profit centers with their own balance sheets and profit and loss accounting. ... Show more

The weaknesses of the matrix system were found in the areas of authority and chain of command that led to ambiguity and increased costs. Likewise,
ABB encountered problems in its matrix structure and had difficulty materializing its goals at the global level
Major restructuring and changes in its top management corporate retrenchment; significant corporate changes that led to unloading the company's
financial services and oil and gas divisions. The company's performance turned into losses. Cancellations of projects that led to heavy losses and
downsizing were the end result. ABB could not recover from the East Asian crisis and saw its revenues dry up in the region that led to a total loss of
over $1 billion in 2001/2002.
CEO salaries and their exorbitant pension benefits have been severely criticized by the media. This was major negative publicity for the company
when it lost over $500 million during the same period.
ABB allocated $1.2 billion to deal with these claims. In 2003, in the U.S. alone, 90.000 new asbestos claims were filed raising the corporate liability
to U.S. plaintiffs about $200

It talked how religion was a man–made creation and how it was used a propaganda to brainwash anyone who follows that religion. It also talked about
deleted history, the history that the Elite government doesn't want the people to know. But my favorite part is when Umar Johnson, the narrator of one
of the sections, talked about the real reason slavery ended. It was said that the real reason slavery ended was because they had too many intelligent
black slaves and the powers of the brain to 'overstand' that what was being done is wrong.
To sum it up, Hidden Colors is a documentary about the real and untold history of people of color around the globe. some of the reasons the
contributions of African and aboriginal people have been left out of the pages of history. Traveling around the country, the film features scholars,
historians, and social commentators who uncovered such amazing facts about things such as: The original image of Christ; The true story about the
Moors; The original people of Asia; The great west African empires; The presence of Africans in America before Columbus; The real reason slavery

Comparing Plato's Cave Allegory And The Matrix
Both Plato's Cave Allegory and the matrix discuss the topic of truth and illusion. In both of the story it was established that we humans live in the
darkness, an illusion which is merely the shadow of the truth. However, once in a while a person will wake up from the illusory dream and realized
the cold hard truth of reality. Should that person overjoyed of the fact that he or she discovered the truth or should that person weep in sorrow since he
or she can no longer go back and continuing living in the shadow? In both Plat's Cave Allegory and the matrix those who were thrown out of their
illusions into the cold hard truth end up having to deal with the consequence that comes from realizing it. Whether it is becoming a social outcast, ...

This is also the mentality that gave protagonists described in the Cave Allegory and the Matrix so much trouble, it is difficult for people to change
their established perception about the world, especially when it was already accepted by the majority. Thus there is no good in knowing the truth
even if it is good and wonderful, because what that get you are the risks of being labeled as social outcast. For example, what if a person told you
that Donald trump have escaped the cave of chains and realized the greater reality and what he has been doing and trying to do all these time have
been attempting to enlighten us: the people who are still in chains, what would you think? Obviously you will believe that person who told you this is
being ridiculous and probably need mental health treatment. But what if the entire world buys into that fact? Then it is likely for you to change your
mind. Since you must have realized that is no way the entire world can be wrong and even if you do have a different opinion you would likely to doubt
your stance. Most importantly you don't want to be sent to mental hospitals. Due to concept the herd mentality that we humans inherently have, there is
no benefit in knowing the truth unless you can convince the entire world; otherwise then you are merely a heretic to the majority

Similarities Between The Matrix And Plato's Allegory Of...
The Matrix and Plato's Allegory of the Cave
Both the Matrix together with the Allegory of the Cave; which is attributed to Plato alternates about a similar paranormal inquiry, "what is genuine?"
The two works possess several similar characteristics as opposed to dissimilarities. For instance, in the Matrix, the principal personality who is Neo is
enthralled in a deceitful reality that is choreographed by computer software program. This is the program that was contrived by the systems that
claimed total subdue over the planet. While in the Plato's Allegory, a captive is able to fathom the veracity of the fastener together with a sincere one
out of the cavern. There are numerous similitudes, which the stories have in common. According to the Republic, Plato portrays how there are
individuals affixed set up, confronting a divider, on which shadows are being thrown. They have been here since they were conceived, and along these
lines, their whole world comprises of this cave and shadows they see on the partition before them. The shadows plus the stories associated with them
are made by individuals who are behind them that they cannot see who hold statues up before a fire so that their shadows are noticeable on the inverse
barrier. Consequently, whatever that they understand is created by imperceptible people who... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Should Neo have been set free? And modern example?
In this comparison, Neo is not supposed to go back in. Having known and understood the reality, Neo vows to get out and face life rather from a
realistic point of view that merely basing on illusions. It is, therefore, much so that he ought to have been set fee (Johnson 26). The modern example
of these allegories is the embracing of education. Many people who value education come to realize how difficult it is to live ignorantly. But the few
who resist education never live to understand the reality of certain things as their way of perception of things is just illusionary.

Biological Magnification
As seen in graph 1.1, group members observed that the number of toxins that were accumulated each week were all in even numbers. Also, during
weeks 0–4, the accumulation of toxins in each week seem to be decreasing bit by bit, but then at week five the accumulation increased a bit (12, 10, 9,
7, 8).
Discussion
Looking back at the data and results collected, in five weeks the great blue heron will die. The group has successfully modeled a simulation of what will
happen to the great blue heron when biological magnification occurs. Based on graph 1.1, at week five there are 46 toxins in the bird. This means that
at that time the great blue heron has accumulated more than 44 toxins, passing the lethal threshold of the organism and therefore becoming ... Show

The salt marsh is an ecosystem that has many different organisms and species dwelling upon the surface. Of these organisms, they include sea
lettuce, the Sheepshead Minnow, Fluke and the Great Blue Heron. These organisms interact with each other in the ecosystem. The sea lettuce is a
producer, which gets eaten by the consumer, the minnows. Then, minnow is eaten by a secondary consumer, a fluke. Lastly, the Great blue Heron,
as a top predator and tertiary consumer, eats the fluke. Through this process, toxins are transferred from trophic level to trophic level. An example
of this is the BP oil spill, which released a large amount of toxins to the ocean, and animals can take in the toxins, causing large amounts of deaths.
Each organism has a lethal threshold, or the amount of toxins an organism can have before death. The Great Blue Heron in this case has a lethal
threshold of 44 toxins (EduChange, 2004). A lab has been done to model the biological magnification of toxins in an ecosystem with the Great Blue
Heron. If a Great Blue Heron eats for five weeks, then the animal will die because the lethal threshold of 44 toxins has been passed and the toxins

Essay on The Matrix
The Matrix Interweaves much symbolism, mythology, philosophy, and psychology. On the surface, the movie challenges the dominance of technology
in our culture and predicts an apocalyptic result from the use of artificial intelligence. Yet, behind the human struggle for survival is a mythical
backdrop upon which are backlit some of C.G. Jung's basic ideas regarding the human psyche. These Jungian ideas include the ego–Self relationship
and how it relates to the persona, the shadow, individuation, and the transcendent function.
The earth has been decimated due to a battle for control of the earth between the AI's and humans; the Matrix camouflages this decimation. Humans are
artificially created and sustained by the AI superstructure. Then ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reference to Jesus Christ in this scene implies that Neo represents the human psyche beginning the individuation process. Neo meets a woman
named Trinity at the party. Trinity tells Neo that she is aware of his desire to know whatthe Matrix is. "It's the question that brought you here. What is
the Matrix?" (The Matrix). Trinity is the one who will lead him towards the underworld. Jung called the her a soul figure, one that occupies an area or
boundary between the personal unconscious and the collective unconscious. Trinity is also associated with a person's calling or fate.
Trinity, as a "three" figure, is incomplete. Jung writes, "the number three is not a natural expression of wholeness, since four represents the minimum
number of determinants in a whole judgment" (Storr 275). Jung believed that the number four represented wholeness in the human psyche. If one were
to re–arrange the name Neo slightly, it would be the word "one" The separateness of the numbers "one" and the "three" in the movie, of Neo and
Trinity, represent an incompleteness in the human psyche. As we shall see, the joining of Neo and Trinity is what effects the change necessary for
Neo to overcome his adversaries at the end of the film.
Early resistance of the ego characters occurs after Neo's initial recruitment by Morpheus' group. Neo has a meeting with his manager after arriving late
to work. His manager says, "You have a problem with

The post World War II era provided new opportunities for the people of United States to explore and develop new technologies which changed the
United States dramatically; for example, a treatment for polio, space exploration, introduction to computer, advancement in weapons industry, auto
industry, and color television etc. With all the technological advancements, how did technology changeUnited States? The paper will discuss the
technological changes that happened in each era since 1945s to 2000. The paper will give each decade's most important technological inventions and

boost to the economy for the coming decades.
TECHNOLOGY IN THE FIFTIES (1950–1959) The 1950s or The Fifties was a decade that was full of events that gave new ideas and inventions.
The decade was prosperous for the American people and entrepreneurs because the economy was booming. However, as the economy was booming
still they were major conflicts associated with United States internally in the country and externally. For example, some of the biggest conflicts were the
Cold War between the Soviet Union, clashes between communism and capitalism, Korean War, Red Scare (fear of communism) in United States. Still
with all those conflicts, in United States the progress in science and technology was on peak.
Arguably, the first greatest and most influential invention of the 20th century the Television publicly placed for sale in markets in 1940s had
originally made real maturity in the 1950s. People started to buy large screen television sets because in the 40s there were only small television
screens. In 1952, RCA introduced the CTC–1, the first color television to utilize the NTSC (National Television System Committee) video standard.
The introductions were still too expensive for most people in that decade; therefore, black–and–white

Alice in the Wonder Island
Morpheus walks towards his seat and observes an uncomfortable Neo, sitting on the edge of his chair with his arms and hands tense. He says to Neo,
"I imagine that right now you're feeling a bit like Alice, tumbling down the rabbit hole, huh? This reference to Alice in Wonderland enables viewers to
understand that Neo is in a position in which anything is possible within the Matrix. Neo replies, "you could say that." "I can see it in your eyes,"
Morpheus quickly responds. Morpheus continues talking with Neo as he stands, which reiterates Morpheus's position as a leader. Morpheus speaks at a
confident and fast pace, which involves a large range of vocabulary and sophisticated content. This shows that he is highly intellectual, as well.
Morpheus tells Neo "He has the look of man who accepts what he sees because he expects to wake up. Ironically this is not far from the truth. Do
you believe in fate, Neo?" Neo replies, as he twitches his nervous fingers in a medium shot of his anxious and nervous body on the chair, "No.
Because I don't like the idea that I'm not in control of my life." Happy with his answer, which is identified by his facial expressions, Morpheus
replies "I know exactly what you mean" and consequently leans to Neo's level flashing a shiny box and sits to the red chair. By simultaneously
saying "I know exactly what you mean" and showcasing a mysterious small box, the audience and Neo can likely assess that what Morpheus has kept
inside the box can allow Neo

Compare And Contrast Plato And The Matrix
Plato and The Matrix Compare and Contrast
In comparing the movie The Matrix to Plato's The Allegory of the Cave, both have a theme of trying to find the truth. In the Matrix, Neo is confronted
with a difficult choice. Either he can choose the blue pill and forget that Morpheus ever confronted him with such news of the Matrix or he can take the
red pill and find out the truth, which is that he has been living in a simulated fantasy world. The Allegory of the Cave is similar in that Plato attempts
to explain reality. There are some epistemology questions that occur in both situations such as, what is truth, how do we find it, and how reliable
are our perceptions? The people that are prisoners in the cave cannot see the world beyond the cave except for glimmers of light reflecting off the
wall and therefore believe that the cave is the real world when in fact if they could escape to the outer world they would realize that outside the cave,
in the light, is actually the real world. Another example of comparison is Plato's two world belief, a world of being and a world of becoming.
The contrasts between the Matrix and the excerpt from Plato are that in the Matrix, the perceived reality that Neo is experiencing is a better
description of what the reality outside the Matrix actually is. Outside the Matrix, Neo discovers a very dark, chaotic, and weird place. Whereas, the
cave depicted in Plato's story is a scary and dark place and his place of ultimate reality is in the light

Essay about The Matrix

It is easy to confuse the concepts of "virtual reality" and a "computerized model of reality (simulation)". The former is a
self–contained Universe, replete with its "laws of physics" and "logic". It can bear resemblance to the real world or not. It can
be consistent or not. It can interact with the real world or not. In short, it is an arbitrary environment. In contrast, a model of reality must have a direct
and strong relationship to the world. It must obey the rules of physics and of logic. The absence of such a relationship renders it meaningless. A flight...

A group of human miscreants succeeds to learn the secret of the Matrix. They form an underground and live aboard a ship, loosely communicating
with a halcyon city called "Zion", the last bastion of resistance. In one of the scenes, Cypher, one of the rebels defects. Over a glass of
(illusory) rubicund wine and (spectral) juicy steak, he poses the main dilemma of the movie. Is it better to live happily in a perfectly detailed delusion
– or to survive unhappily but free of its hold?
The Matrix controls the minds of all the humans in the world. It is a bridge between them, they inter–connected through it. It makes them share the
same sights, smells and textures. They remember. They compete. They make decisions. The Matrix is sufficiently complex to allow for this apparent
lack of determinism and ubiquity of free will. The root question is: is there any difference between making decisions and feeling certain of making
them (not having made them)? If one is unaware of the existence of the Matrix, the answer is no. From the inside, as a part of the Matrix, making
decisions and appearing to be making them are identical states. Only an outside observer – one who in possession of full information regarding both the
Matrix and the humans – can tell the difference.
Moreover, if the Matrix were a computer program of infinite complexity, no observer (finite or infinite) would have been able to say with any certainty

Similarities Between The Matrix And My Father Began As A God
Society has a shared way of thinking on many issues and this can often be confronted by different perspectives. The Wachoswki Brother's film 'The
Matrix' and Ian Mudie's poem 'My Father Began As a God' both convey the idea that altering points if view can be confronting resulting in new
knowledge and consequences for individuals. These concepts are explored in The Matrix through the themes of gender expectations being challenged
resulting in more gender equality. Mudie's poem similarly expresses this concept through the theme of respect for elders as an issues in society
resulting in personal growth within an individual. Both text successfully depict the notion that people's thinking can be altered by changed perspectives.
Changing perspectives can be challenging and trans–formative for an individual. In The Matrix gender expectations are defied through the character
Trinity. The opening scene begins with Trinity's action packed encounter with the police and agents. Dialogue such as "I think we can handle a little
girl" said by the police shows the audience the mindset around women portraying them as weak. The audience is later confronted by Trinity's abilities
used to fight the police. A bird's eye view angle is used to emphasize power as one can see Trinity surrounded by defeated police men. Trinity's
androgynous appearance, short hair and tight ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Comparing The Matrix Film And Skepticism

Skepticism
01/07/2018
Skepticism is something which the early philosophers such as Rene Descartes and George Berkeley addressed, and still, the issue of reality has
remained debated for centuries by philosophers (Schmerheim, 2015). This paper discusses the topic of whether the Matrix film is more like Descartes'
evil deceiver or otherwise like the Berkeley's God by analyzing the philosophy with regards to the Matrix film. The Matrix is a 1999 film that is
significantly founded on the question of what is reality and Berkeley and Descartes, on the other hand, perceived the world as having two different
versions of the truth. This paper will thus discuss the philosophy of Descartes and Berkeley concerning the concept of reality and then provide
supporting evidence how the Matrix film is a reflection of their ideas.
The Matrix film describes a world in which the reality that is perceived by humans. The Matrix which is a reality that is established by malevolent
machines. The machines then overcome and appease the humans so that the devices can get a source of energy from their electrical activity and
bodies' heat (Schmerheim, 2015). In this film, Keanu Reeves plays a role as a computer programmer lives a double life as a hacker known as "Neo."
Neo receives cryptic messages on the monitor of his computer after which he begins searching for the person behind the messages called Morpheus.

Allegory Of The Cave Comparison
Plato, Descartes, and The Matrix
Having read the synopsis from The Matrix, the excerpt from Plato, The Republic, Book VII, 514A1–518D8 "The Allegory Of The Cave", and the

there are similarities as well as differences among these readings. Each question the state of reality in which we live. Is our reality a true state of

Film Noir Features in Blade Runner and The Matrix
"The Matrix" has a main science fiction theme but also includes features of film noir films. It is directed and written by Andy and Larry Wachowski.
Other than Science Fiction and film noir the film can also be classed as a Hybrid.
"Blade Runner" is more of a film noir film than "The Matrix". Although it does include action and fighting scenes but these have film noir features in
them. Most ideas about the film are connected with film noir such as the mystery, the low key lighting and symbolic objects. It was directed by Ridley
Scott and written by Phillip K. Dick, Hampton Fancher and David Webb Peoples.

"The Matrix" and "Blade Runner" both include strong female characters. In "Blade Runner" the strong female characters are Rachael and Zhora and in
"The Matrix" it is Trinity. Audiences demand strong characters because it is like a role– reversal, in most films men are the hero and leading
characters, which makes it unusual for women to be strong and powerful. The world war influenced film makers to make films which had strong
female characters to encourage women and make them feel appreciated for all of the jobs that they were doing during the war whilst men were on the
battlefields.
In "Blade Runner" the main character, Deckard, is an ex–policeman and ex–blade runner. He is found and reassigned as a blade runner to find some
rogue replicants who have gone 'On the run'. In "The Matrix" the main character Thomas A. Anderson is found by a group of people who have found
out that he is 'the one' who will stop "The Matrix", he is bought in to 'The real world' to stop agents and make the world 'right'.
I feel that in "Blade Runner" the main issues and ideas that the film considers are that the society in the future is very separated and there are no
longer family structures, also that 'real' is a difficult term to understand as there are replicants in their time and they are made to

Difference between CNC & NC machines
NC machines
In a Numerical Control machine, the program is fed to the machine through magnetic tapes or other such media. The original NC machines were
essentially basic machine tools which were modified to have motors for movement along the axes.
CNC machines
In a Computer Numerical Controlled machine, the machines are interfaced with computers. This makes them more versatile in the sense that, suppose
a change in dimension of a part is required. In a NC machine, you would have had to change the program in the tape and then feed it to the machine
again. But in a CNC machine, you just change a variable in the computer and your modification is done!!

1). Digital Monitor: A digital monitor accepts digital signals rather than analog signals all monitors use CRT technology, which is essentially analog.
The term digital, therefore, refers only to the type of input received from the video adapter. A digital monitor then translates the digital signals analog
that controls the actual display.
2). Analog Monitor: This is the traditional type of color display screen that has been used for years in televisions. All monitors based on CRT
technology are analog. Some monitors are called digitals monitors because they accept digital signals from the video adapter.

Essay Comparing Matrix 'And Descartes' Meditation
The summaries from The Matrix, Plato's The Allegory of the Cave, and Descartes' Meditation, I can conclude that there are many similarities
between these stories, as well as a few differences in the two stories. It would be accurate to say that The Matrix and Plato's Allegory of the Cave
were more similar than that of Descartes' Meditation. I feel like I can reach this conclusion because the people involved in both of these stories felt
like they were living in a world where everything around them was deceptive to how life was lived and how the world actually worked. In the Matrix,
Neo was exposed to the real world rather blatently. He quickly discovered that everything he assumed to be real–life, was only an illusion. This was

Neither, truly grasp what the real world is like. We also see both characters have a chance to seetruth for themselves, and both end up confused by what
they experienced. Both characters were engrossed in the idea of finding out what truth actually was. However, these two characters adopted the truth
much differently from one another. In Plato's story, the prisoner, once gaining his new knowledge, let others that were held back know exactly when
he found new ideas they claimed as truth, and felt that sometimes it was easier to accept truth at first, compared to later on after 'experiencing' the
scenario more. Plato thought that it was necessary for the chained man in the Allegory of the Cave to get away from the cave and venture out so that
he could experience real truth. This is because Plato felt like our senses are not able to be trusted when trying to determine real truth. Neo, from the
Matrix, conversely, wanted to experience truth first hand. The Matrix was determined to find out what the real truth was, because they had no idea that
things they were experiencing were not

The Movie Matrix and Mindscan: Are AI’s Human or a Hoax?
Matrix and Mindscan: Are AI's Human or a Hoax? Since the beginning of humanity, people have disputed over the standards of what qualifies as a
human being. In ancient Rome, the Romans persecuted and enslaved those of conquered states. In WWII Hitler slaughtered thousands of Jews. In the
primary stages of America's founding, rich white plantation owners imported black slaves to cultivate their fields. All of these types of persecution
occurred because a greater, more powerful group considered the other as insubordinate. The commanding power was indifferent to the population
they oppressed because they did not consider the subservient group as human. Now that technology is progressing, the definition of humanity is
again called into question as the fine lines between humanity and artificial intelligence (AI) have blurred into an area of controversy. Questions such
as what characteristics define being human, what is a personal identity, and can AI's ever be considered human are only a few questions addressed
by Mindscan and The Matrix. Using Richard Sawyer's novel Mindscan, and the movie The Matrix, I will discuss my personal views on what defines
humanity and whether or not the characters in the above works meet these criteria. Many conditions must be met in order for a being to be human,
including: the ability to tell right from wrong, learn from experiences, think independently, a biological body, ability to be aware they are self–aware,
complex emotional feeling, and a

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Printers
A printer is external hardware output device that takes the electronic data stored on a computer or may be on other device and generates a hard copy
of it and that hardcopy may be used as future references. For example, if you created a report on your computer you could print several copies to hand
out at a staff meeting. Printers are one of the most popular computer peripherals and are commonly used to print text and photos.
A printer is an output device that usually prints characters, symbols, and graphics on paper. The printed output is generally referred to as hardcopy
because it is in the permanent form which we can use for future references. Softcopy refers to temporary images or we can say in temporary form
which may or may not be used ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In business where enormous amount of material are printed, the character–at–a–time printers are too slow; therefore, these users need line–at–a–time
printers. Line printers, or line–at–a–time printers, use special mechanism that can print a whole line at once; they can typically print the range of 1,200
to 6,000 lines per minute. Drum, chain, and band printers are line–at–a–time printers.
Drum printer
A drum printer consists of a solid, cylindrical drum that has raised characters in bands on its surface. The number of print positions across the drum
equals the number available on the page. This number typically ranges from 80–132 print positions. The drum rotates at a rapid speed. For each
possible print position there is a print hammer located behind the paper. These hammers strike the paper, along the ink ribbon, against the proper
character on the drum as it passes. One revolution of the drum is required to print each line. This means that all characters on the line are not printed
at exactly the same time, but the time required to print the entire line is fast enough to call them line printers. Typical speeds of drum printers are in
the range of 300 to 2000 lines per

Comparing Plato's Allegory Of The Cave And The Matrix
In Plato's Allegory of the Cave and the Wachowskis' The Matrix, the ideas of truth are that it can only be defined by how far one is willing to think
outside of their own reality. Both the allegory and the film depict truth as a key of sorts for individuals to break free from their imprisonment. This
can be seen by Neo's physical escape from the pod, which he had been unknowingly trapped in his whole life and his ascension to light after being
swept down the pod's tube. The tube which swept Neo away is alike to the freed prisoner being "dragged...into the sunlight" by force in Plato's
allegory; the two characters are being forced to have their senses enlightened once they've been freed from the chains on their bodies (but their minds
still need to get adjusted to seeing the world in a new way). However, the allegory and the film differ in that Plato's prison is a physical cave which
houses it's prisoners, while the matrix is a program that confines people's minds, thus is limitless while inside. With ... Show more content on

In the end, it all comes down to perception, whether or not if that perception of ours is skewed. This is why Plato stresses the importance of the
"upward journey" which the freed prisoner takes, how "it is reached only with difficulty" because of the external factors which can alter our minds.
It shows how the "intelligible realm" of our minds/ why we must constantly reflect upon and question what we think, even if it's hard to do, because
we as humans constantly strive to better ourselves. Otherwise, on the most basic level of life, what else would be our purpose? The Matrix film
demonstrates this purpose in Neo's search for an answer to "the question" he had been subconsciously asking, as he had always felt like something was

62). This proposition also proves to be true in the matrix. Additionally, in the matrix, in order to harness the biochemical electricity that the human
bodies produces for fuel, the machines must deceive the human mind by uploading it, in to a program where it can use a virtual body, therefore leading
to the conclusion that the physical body cannot survive without the mind. Although, the mind can survive without a physical body, without a body, the
mind has no purpose. Nerveless, this idea, explained further through the matrix when Neo is revealed that if he dies in the matrix, he dies in real life,
Morpheus explains this by stating, "The body cannot live without the mind" (The matrix 55:24–55:34) "Cogito Ergo Sum" – Rene Descartes (Palmer,
6th edition, pg. 62). This evolutionary simple yet complex rational claim was the first indubitable answer that the great Philosopher Rene Descartes
uses as the certain foundation of all knowledge. Nerveless this is an important concept to the movie "The Matrix" for although the matrix can deceive
the mind, the only "thing" that the computer–generated simulation of reality cannot simulate, is the thoughts of the living. Therefore, leading the

The Lathe of Heaven has no future; the present is the basis of the plot. For
example, every time Orr has a session with Haber, Orr changes the present and
retroactively changes the past. Playing by LeGuins rules for science fiction helps shape
both stories and help put both into a league of their own.
The Matrix and Lathe of Heaven provide example of trends in modern society
throughout their plot. First, both the movie and the novel both portray characters that
have a God Complex. Meaning that they believe they have all the power and it is up to
them to create a world that they see fit. In the Matrix it is the Creator and in the Lathe
of Heaven it is Dr. Haber. In our society we have had and do have dictators that feel like
they are in complete control of how the world should be. There was Hitler, who decided
we need to exterminate over 6 million Jews and millions of others. A modern day
example would be George W. Bush. He acts with consent of the established government
and does what he thinks what is in our best interest, without listening to our own ideas
what we feel what our best interests are. This is dangerous to society just like in the
Lathe of Heaven Haber tries to control society with what he thinks is best, bringing
death and destruction by means of a deadly plague and virus. Bush has ordered the

Comparing The Matrix And Plato's Allegory The Cave
"Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one", Albert Einstein. This quote from Einstein touches on how reality is not something that one
can fully grasp without questioning the reality that you are in presently and both Plato and the Matrix address through their work. In Plato's Allegory of
the Cave, he discusses how society controls information so that the people know only what they need to know and nothing more. In the Matrix they
show how society has used the control of information to create an illusion of a "dreamworld" as Morpheus calls it, to crete a false sense of security
and happiness. This illusion was supposed to keep the people satisfied so that the citizens would not want to question what was going on and dig ...

Which in society you have the choice to question society and look deeper into society and find all the information that has been kept from you.
This control of information is used to hide the information that the government does not want to be common information or information that has
been misconstrued to uphold their dreamworld that they have created to keep the people happy. Or you can just accept everything as you believe
it to be and continue living in the dreamworld that was created for you to live in. The next similarity is when Neal is in a womb like container and
he had numerous tubes connected to him, all of these tubes symbolize our need for and ties to society. As an individual we are tied to society
through the necessities of life such as; clothing, housing, food, and jobs, and through these same aspects we are contributing to society so it
creates a cycle of dependency. We are dependent because we are unable to create most of these things by ourselves without the help of society. for
example to build a house in order to get wood or lumber to build it you would need someone to manufacture it so that you would have boards for
siding and roofing, and beams and boards for walls and supports. This one necessity is just an example of our dependency on society as an
individual. Since we are so dependent on society that corporations know that they can exploit us without us knowing it. An example of this from the
matrix would be when Morpheus is apologizing to Neal for having to retrain his mind and he tells him "it had to be done, I had no choice." He is
talking about how Neal is seen to be the "Chosen" one and so Morpheus felt like he had no choice but to make Neal retrain his mind even though he is

Descriptive Essay About Animals
People aspire to be like childhood characters because they feel as if they can relate to them and they have been taught so much by them. From the
moment that I saw the Warner Brothers, the green frog, and the fat cat, I knew that I would fall in love with the characters and would be able to relate
to them on a large level. The three animals helped me realize that even though they aren't real, we can relate with each other and I can also learn
valuable lessons from them that would help me in life. The three fictional characters that most represent my personality are Yakkofrom Animaniacs for
his annoying yet sympathetic behavior, Kermit the Frog from The Muppets for his insecurities, and Stimpy from The Ren and Stimpy Show for his

Even though Yakko Warner is an animal that no one– not even creator Steven Spielberg – knows exactly what kind he is, it doesn't mean that we are

"The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson is the story of a town that is caught up in its old ways and traditions. The story is set in a small town on a beautiful,
mid–summers day. People of the town gather as if it is just another summer day, "The lottery was conducted–as were the square dances, the teenage
club, the Halloween program..." As the people gather, they see friends and family and talk about random, everyday things. The children play, the
parents start conversations. All of the noise stops when suddenly Mr. Summers, the man who conducts the lottery, comes in with a worn and chipped
black box. Each head of the family is called up to the black box, and they proceed by each pulling a piece of folded paper out of the box. Mr.
Summers calls attention, and each of the men opens their piece of paper. A man named Bill Hutchinson has the piece of paper with a blackdot on it.
Each member of the Hutchinson family is then called up to the black box, and they each pull a piece of paper out. One by one they each open
their piece of paper until somebody gets the black dot. The children, Bill Jr, Nancy, and Dave, all get by with a dotless piece of paper. When it is
down to Bill and his wife Tessie, they both open their paper, and it is revealed that Tessie has the black dot. Tessie tries to argue that the process was

The Matrix, Plato's Allegory Of Cave, And Discartes '
Many questions may come to mind when one seeks to understand life and mankind presence. What can I possibly find out? What is real or facts? Are
we able to determine reality? For one to answer these question would be quite challenging. However, the matrix, Plato's The Allegory of Cave, and
Discartes' "Meditation I" shares their understanding of how one can determine reality.
In the matrix, Plato's Cave, and Descartes they are uncertain of the real world experienced due to senses; whether it's factual or fallacy. The matrix
takes place in a computer generated setting whereas, people are deceived and unaware of their virtual lives (Synopsis: "The Matrix"). Plato's cave

So, what can one find out about reality in the Bible? First, God has created the world, our hearing, seeing and as well and all things (Colossians 1:16 &
Proverbs 20:12, NKJV). Secondly, we are shown our senses can be deceived (Matthew 24:24–26, 2 Corinthians 11:14, & Revelation 13:13, KJV).
Realms and dimensions are also shown that we do not have access. It is accessible to Christ and Angels. (John 20:19 & Numbers 22:31, NLT). It
appears that our senses on earth are subdued and imperfect, for one's senses will experience things unimaginably (1 Cor. 2:9). According the bible
which is the truth, it is safe to say our senses we discern is real. Although "one deceived by their senses", (Dew & Foreman, 2014, p. 158), God's word

The approximate time is 20ms so if the light is turned on at a frequency >50Hz (1/20ms) then your eye will not notice any flicker at all.
Multiplexing uses this fact to reduce the number of pins needed to drive an LED display. You can do this by splitting the 32led displays into 7 rows
and 5columns which lets you drive it using 7 row outputs and 5 column outputs. In fact the 5x7 led matrix block used here has all the leds arranged in
this way already.
Each row is driven in turn and as long as all of the rows are driven within a time period of 20ms it will appear as though the LEDs are on continuously.
To turn a specific led 'ON ', data is output to the column drivers when a row is driven.
To save more pins it is common to use a helper chip and in this project it is a Johnson counter (a 4017). This generates a walking one every time that
it 's clocked. Since you only want one row on at a time it is the ideal chip for this application. In this project when the 4017 has been reset it outputs
logic high at Q0 – which is not connected – so during reset the 4017 does nothing. This allows you to use the column driver port for something else if
you want to when you are not driving the LEDs.To drive the 4017 all you need is two pins one for reset and one for clock. So to fully drive the 32
matrix led display you need only 4 4017.
The most difficult thing about using the dot matrix LED display is defining the characters. Basically for ASCII characters

Artificial beings "believed we lacked the programming language" to describe the perfect world. Agent Smith comes up with his own theory, that
humans need pain and suffering in order to define their reality. So rather than create a perfect world the machines recreate a more real world; a
world of suffering a Buddhist world, one that prevents the human mind from trying to "wake up from." This is the world Neo grows up in, this
Matrix world. He grows up in a machine world; his mind is a by–product of the machinery, therefore, making him the perfect candidate to be the chosen

Essay on The Matrix
The Matrix
The Matrix is a science fiction movie about artificial intelligence computers replacing mankind. I believe that this movie is a common type of display
from the media is common paranoia so that they can get a reaction from people and sell their story. In the case of The Matrix, the movie dazzles
people with awesome special effects using modern computer technology, which I find ironic. I find it self–conflicting and hypocritical for the media to
use modern computer technology for their own good to show people how bad technology is. Amy Bruckman and Howard Rheingold would probably
find this movie interesting in that it disagrees and agrees with certain aspects about their beliefs about the use of computers.
The Matrix ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the end of the movie he does so and saves all of mankind from the A.I. Only a superhero could save the common man from the Matrix. Throughout
all of this the watcher of the movie is experiencing the newest and most advanced form of computer, digital computer special effects up to this point in
time.
I find that the underlined theme of the movie is that A.I. is bad. I also see that the good people in the movie used lots of advanced technology that was
not A.I. to help Neo in his quest to defeat the Matrix. So I think that the movie suggests that there is no point in developing technology to great extents
because one day it will catch up to us and possibly be the end of us.
It seems to me that Rheingold would see no such problem as this in the future and technology could only benefit mankind. He suggests that online
communities are good. He designed the Well, which is a place online where people can find chatrooms to find an online community that suits their
needs. For example, in his article in Cyberspace he shows how his daughter had a tick and his online community helped him to remove it faster then
his doctor could call him back, thereby benefiting his daughter by removing the tick and himself because he needed not pay the doctor to perform the
task. Nowhere in his article does he show how there is any bad in online communities. He only shows more specific examples to support his argument.
I am not suggesting

Ignorance In The Matrix
A fish does not know it lives life in water. To a fish, it swimming around is equivalent to a human walking on the street. One becomes accustomed to
it's environment and do not notice the surroundings which may in turn be strange to others. Until one is shown a different environment outside of the
considered norm, one is just like that fish oblivious to it's environment. Ignorance is bliss. This is the case for Neo if he chooses the blue pill instead
of the red, Truman not searching for his true love Lauren and for the prisoner in Plato's cave, never finding the light that is the exit to the cave. One's
knowledge is confined to the box in which one lives. In the movie The Matrix, directed by Lana and Lilly Wachowski, the character Neo is given a
choice to either learn the truth or choose to live his life like he was, unknowing of what lies behind the curtain. This would've been beneficial to Neo
because of the fact that he would not have been put in harm's way nor had the pressure of having to save his crew from the tightening grip of the
sentinels. During the film Neo has a hard time equating the magnitude of his situation, he does not believe in himself. Neo felt comfortable in his state
before he was unplugged, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Contrary, ignorance must be a part of society in order for it to keep moving forward. If the human race were to be full of all knowing individuals
then work as a society would come to a stand still. Ignorance is mandatory for cultural sanity, sometimes it is better not to know than to worry over
the truth. If a loved one has terminal cancer, the family can decide whether or not to tell the individual or to keep it from them to better their remaining
time as a living person. This is to justify the fact that ignorance is beneficial in some circumstances as opposed to

The Complexity Of Different Output Devices Essay
Introduction When looking at things such as watching TV, browsing through the Internet or even looking at your mobile phone, it seems like
something simple. However, this is not the case. Processes related to how information is received through devices are very complex, these are
known as Display Output Devices. They are responsible for receiving data in different forms: images, videos, numbers, words, and even sounds.
Examples of these devices include televisions, computer screens, mobiles, printers and cameras. This paper will discuss the complexity of
different output devices, functions they carry out, and how the functions are carried out. (Output device, Wikipedia, 2014). Part 1 : projectors are
output devices that take images already saved on computers or captured by mobiles and reflect these images on a flat surface. There are three
types of projectors which are : LCD(liquid crystal display), DLP(digital light processing) and CRT (cathode ray tube ) and also there are two
important things we must know before purchasing a projector which are the brightness and resolution. The quality of the brightness differs from
one type to another so if we talk about LCD so the brightness lamp must be between 800 and 1000 to get a shiny image but for DLB the brightness
lamp must be 1000 not less than this, but if we want to get a perfect clear image the resolution must be XGA or WXGA but VGA and SVGA more
cheaper but give less quality compared to XGA or WXGA so if we want a

The weaknesses of the matrix system were found in the areas of authority and chain of command that led to ambiguity and increased costs. Likewise, ABB encountered problems in its matrix structure and had difficulty materializing its goals at the global level Major restructuring and changes in its top management corporate retrenchment; significant corporate changes that led to unloading the company's financial services and oil and gas divisions. The company's performance turned into losses. Cancellations of projects that led to heavy losses and downsizing were the end result. ABB could not recover from the East Asian crisis and saw its revenues dry up in the region that led to a total loss of over $1 billion in 2001/2002. CEO salaries and their exorbitant pension benefits have been severely criticized by the media. This was major negative publicity for the company when it lost over $500 million during the same period. In both of the story it was established that we humans live in the darkness, an illusion which is merely the shadow of the truth. However, once in a while a person will wake up from the illusory dream and realized the cold hard truth of reality. Should that person overjoyed of the fact that he or she discovered the truth or should that person weep in sorrow since he or she can no longer go back and continuing living in the shadow? Thus there is no good in knowing the truth even if it is good and wonderful, because what that get you are the risks of being labeled as social outcast. For example, what if a person told you that Donald trump have escaped the cave of chains and realized the greater reality and what he has been doing and trying to do all these time have been attempting to enlighten us: the people who are still in chains, what would you think? Obviously you will believe that person who told you this is being ridiculous and probably need mental health treatment. But what if the entire world buys into that fact? Then it is likely for you to change your mind. Since you must have realized that is no way the entire world can be wrong and even if you do have a different opinion you would likely to doubt your stance. Also, during weeks 0–4, the accumulation of toxins in each week seem to be decreasing bit by bit, but then at week five the accumulation increased a bit (12, 10, 9, 7, 8). The salt marsh is an ecosystem that has many different organisms and species dwelling upon the surface. Of these organisms, they include sea lettuce, the Sheepshead Minnow, Fluke and the Great Blue Heron. These organisms interact with each other in the ecosystem. The sea lettuce is a producer, which gets eaten by the consumer, the minnows. Then, minnow is eaten by a secondary consumer, a fluke. Lastly, the Great blue Heron, as a top predator and tertiary consumer, eats the fluke. Through this process, toxins are transferred from trophic level to trophic level. An example of this is the BP oil spill, which released a large amount of toxins to the ocean, and animals can take in the toxins, causing large amounts of deaths. Each organism has a lethal threshold, or the amount of toxins an organism can have before death. The Great Blue Heron in this case has a lethal threshold of 44 toxins (EduChange, 2004). • 6. Essay on The Matrix The Matrix Interweaves much symbolism, mythology, philosophy, and psychology. On the surface, the movie challenges the dominance of technology in our culture and predicts an apocalyptic result from the use of artificial intelligence. Yet, behind the human struggle for survival is a mythical backdrop upon which are backlit some of C.G. Jung's basic ideas regarding the human psyche. These Jungian ideas include the ego–Self relationship and how it relates to the persona, the shadow, individuation, and the transcendent function. The earth has been decimated due to a battle for control of the earth between the AI's and humans; the Matrix camouflages this decimation. Humans are artificially created and sustained by the AI superstructure. Then ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Trinity tells Neo that she is aware of his desire to know whatthe Matrix is. "It's the question that brought you here. What is the Matrix?" (The Matrix). Trinity is the one who will lead him towards the underworld. Jung called the her a soul figure, one that occupies an area or boundary between the personal unconscious and the collective unconscious. Trinity is also associated with a person's calling or fate. Trinity, as a "three" figure, is incomplete. Jung writes, "the number three is not a natural expression of wholeness, since four represents the minimum number of determinants in a whole judgment" (Storr 275). Jung believed that the number four represented wholeness in the human psyche. If one were to re–arrange the name Neo slightly, it would be the word "one" The separateness of the numbers "one" and the "three" in the movie, of Neo and Trinity, represent an incompleteness in the human psyche. As we shall see, the joining of Neo and Trinity is what effects the change necessary for Neo to overcome his adversaries at the end of the film. Early resistance of the ego characters occurs after Neo's initial recruitment by Morpheus' group. Neo has a meeting with his manager after arriving late to work. • 9. Compare And Contrast Plato And The Matrix Plato and The Matrix Compare and Contrast In comparing the movie The Matrix to Plato's The Allegory of the Cave, both have a theme of trying to find the truth. In the Matrix, Neo is confronted with a difficult choice. Either he can choose the blue pill and forget that Morpheus ever confronted him with such news of the Matrix or he can take the red pill and find out the truth, which is that he has been living in a simulated fantasy world. The Allegory of the Cave is similar in that Plato attempts to explain reality. There are some epistemology questions that occur in both situations such as, what is truth, how do we find it, and how reliable are our perceptions? The people that are prisoners in the cave cannot see the world beyond the cave except for glimmers of light reflecting off the wall and therefore believe that the cave is the real world when in fact if they could escape to the outer world they would realize that outside the cave, in the light, is actually the real world. Another example of comparison is Plato's two world belief, a world of being and a world of becoming. The contrasts between the Matrix and the excerpt from Plato are that in the Matrix, the perceived reality that Neo is experiencing is a better description of what the reality outside the Matrix actually is. Outside the Matrix, Neo discovers a very dark, chaotic, and weird place. Whereas, the cave depicted in Plato's story is a scary and dark place and his place of ultimate reality is in the light ... The former is a self–contained Universe, replete with its "laws of physics" and "logic". It can bear resemblance to the real world or not. It can be consistent or not. Is it better to live happily in a perfectly detailed delusion – or to survive unhappily but free of its hold? The Matrix controls the minds of all the humans in the world. It is a bridge between them, they inter–connected through it. It makes them share the same sights, smells and textures. They remember. They compete. They make decisions. The Matrix is sufficiently complex to allow for this apparent lack of determinism and ubiquity of free will. The root question is: is there any difference between making decisions and feeling certain of making them (not having made them)? If one is unaware of the existence of the Matrix, the answer is no. From the inside, as a part of the Matrix, making decisions and appearing to be making them are identical states. Only an outside observer – one who in possession of full information regarding both the Matrix and the humans – can tell the difference. Moreover, if the Matrix were a computer program of infinite complexity, no observer (finite or infinite) would have been able to say with any certainty whose ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Wachoswki Brother's film 'The Matrix' and Ian Mudie's poem 'My Father Began As a God' both convey the idea that altering points if view can be confronting resulting in new knowledge and consequences for individuals. These concepts are explored in The Matrix through the themes of gender expectations being challenged resulting in more gender equality. Mudie's poem similarly expresses this concept through the theme of respect for elders as an issues in society resulting in personal growth within an individual. Both text successfully depict the notion that people's thinking can be altered by changed perspectives. Changing perspectives can be challenging and trans–formative for an individual. In The Matrix gender expectations are defied through the character Trinity. The opening scene begins with Trinity's action packed encounter with the police and agents. Dialogue such as "I think we can handle a little girl" said by the police shows the audience the mindset around women portraying them as weak. This paper discusses the topic of whether the Matrix film is more like Descartes' evil deceiver or otherwise like the Berkeley's God by analyzing the philosophy with regards to the Matrix film. The Matrix is a 1999 film that is significantly founded on the question of what is reality and Berkeley and Descartes, on the other hand, perceived the world as having two different versions of the truth. This paper will thus discuss the philosophy of Descartes and Berkeley concerning the concept of reality and then provide supporting evidence how the Matrix film is a reflection of their ideas. The Matrix film describes a world in which the reality that is perceived by humans. The Matrix which is a reality that is established by malevolent machines. The machines then overcome and appease the humans so that the devices can get a source of energy from their electrical activity and bodies' heat (Schmerheim, 2015). I feel like I can reach this conclusion because the people involved in both of these stories felt like they were living in a world where everything around them was deceptive to how life was lived and how the world actually worked. In the Matrix, Neo was exposed to the real world rather blatently. He quickly discovered that everything he assumed to be real–life, was only an illusion. We also see both characters have a chance to seetruth for themselves, and both end up confused by what they experienced. Both characters were engrossed in the idea of finding out what truth actually was. However, these two characters adopted the truth much differently from one another. In Plato's story, the prisoner, once gaining his new knowledge, let others that were held back know exactly when he found new ideas they claimed as truth, and felt that sometimes it was easier to accept truth at first, compared to later on after 'experiencing' the scenario more. Plato thought that it was necessary for the chained man in the Allegory of the Cave to get away from the cave and venture out so that he could experience real truth. This is because Plato felt like our senses are not able to be trusted when trying to determine real truth. Neo, from the Matrix, conversely, wanted to experience truth first hand. • 23. The Movie Matrix and Mindscan: Are AI’s Human or a Hoax? Matrix and Mindscan: Are AI's Human or a Hoax? Since the beginning of humanity, people have disputed over the standards of what qualifies as a human being. In ancient Rome, the Romans persecuted and enslaved those of conquered states. In WWII Hitler slaughtered thousands of Jews. In the primary stages of America's founding, rich white plantation owners imported black slaves to cultivate their fields. All of these types of persecution occurred because a greater, more powerful group considered the other as insubordinate. The commanding power was indifferent to the population they oppressed because they did not consider the subservient group as human. Now that technology is progressing, the definition of humanity is again called into question as the fine lines between humanity and artificial intelligence (AI) have blurred into an area of controversy. Questions such as what characteristics define being human, what is a personal identity, and can AI's ever be considered human are only a few questions addressed by Mindscan and The Matrix. Using Richard Sawyer's novel Mindscan, and the movie The Matrix, I will discuss my personal views on what defines humanity and whether or not the characters in the above works meet these criteria. Many conditions must be met in order for a being to be human, including: the ability to tell right from wrong, learn from experiences, think independently, a biological body, ability to be aware they are self–aware, complex emotional feeling, and a ... What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Printers A printer is external hardware output device that takes the electronic data stored on a computer or may be on other device and generates a hard copy of it and that hardcopy may be used as future references. For example, if you created a report on your computer you could print several copies to hand out at a staff meeting. Printers are one of the most popular computer peripherals and are commonly used to print text and photos. A printer is an output device that usually prints characters, symbols, and graphics on paper. In business where enormous amount of material are printed, the character–at–a–time printers are too slow; therefore, these users need line–at–a–time printers. Line printers, or line–at–a–time printers, use special mechanism that can print a whole line at once; they can typically print the range of 1,200 to 6,000 lines per minute. Drum, chain, and band printers are line–at–a–time printers. Drum printer A drum printer consists of a solid, cylindrical drum that has raised characters in bands on its surface. The number of print positions across the drum equals the number available on the page. This number typically ranges from 80–132 print positions. The drum rotates at a rapid speed. For each possible print position there is a print hammer located behind the paper. These hammers strike the paper, along the ink ribbon, against the proper character on the drum as it passes. One revolution of the drum is required to print each line. This means that all characters on the line are not printed at exactly the same time, but the time required to print the entire line is fast enough to call them line printers. • 25. Comparing Plato's Allegory Of The Cave And The Matrix In Plato's Allegory of the Cave and the Wachowskis' The Matrix, the ideas of truth are that it can only be defined by how far one is willing to think outside of their own reality. Both the allegory and the film depict truth as a key of sorts for individuals to break free from their imprisonment. This can be seen by Neo's physical escape from the pod, which he had been unknowingly trapped in his whole life and his ascension to light after being swept down the pod's tube. The tube which swept Neo away is alike to the freed prisoner being "dragged...into the sunlight" by force in Plato's allegory; the two characters are being forced to have their senses enlightened once they've been freed from the chains on their bodies (but their minds still need to get adjusted to seeing the world in a new way). However, the allegory and the film differ in that Plato's prison is a physical cave which houses it's prisoners, while the matrix is a program that confines people's minds, thus is limitless while inside. It shows how the "intelligible realm" of our minds/ why we must constantly reflect upon and question what we think, even if it's hard to do, because we as humans constantly strive to better ourselves. Additionally, in the matrix, in order to harness the biochemical electricity that the human bodies produces for fuel, the machines must deceive the human mind by uploading it, in to a program where it can use a virtual body, therefore leading to the conclusion that the physical body cannot survive without the mind. Although, the mind can survive without a physical body, without a body, the mind has no purpose. Nerveless, this idea, explained further through the matrix when Neo is revealed that if he dies in the matrix, he dies in real life, Morpheus explains this by stating, "The body cannot live without the mind" (The matrix 55:24–55:34) "Cogito Ergo Sum" – Rene Descartes (Palmer, 6th edition, pg. 62). These Jungian ideas include the ego–Self relationship and how it relates to the persona, the shadow, individuation, and the transcendent function. Trinity is the one who will lead him towards the underworld. Jung called the her a soul figure, one that occupies an area or boundary between the personal unconscious and the collective unconscious. Trinity is also associated with a person's calling or fate. Trinity, as a "three" figure, is incomplete. This quote from Einstein touches on how reality is not something that one can fully grasp without questioning the reality that you are in presently and both Plato and the Matrix address through their work. In Plato's Allegory of the Cave, he discusses how society controls information so that the people know only what they need to know and nothing more. In the Matrix they show how society has used the control of information to create an illusion of a "dreamworld" as Morpheus calls it, to crete a false sense of security and happiness. Or you can just accept everything as you believe it to be and continue living in the dreamworld that was created for you to live in. The next similarity is when Neal is in a womb like container and he had numerous tubes connected to him, all of these tubes symbolize our need for and ties to society. As an individual we are tied to society through the necessities of life such as; clothing, housing, food, and jobs, and through these same aspects we are contributing to society so it creates a cycle of dependency. We are dependent because we are unable to create most of these things by ourselves without the help of society. for example to build a house in order to get wood or lumber to build it you would need someone to manufacture it so that you would have boards for siding and roofing, and beams and boards for walls and supports. This one necessity is just an example of our dependency on society as an individual. Since we are so dependent on society that corporations know that they can exploit us without us knowing it. An example of this from the matrix would be when Morpheus is apologizing to Neal for having to retrain his mind and he tells him "it had to be done, I had no choice." You can do this by splitting the 32led displays into 7 rows and 5columns which lets you drive it using 7 row outputs and 5 column outputs. In fact the 5x7 led matrix block used here has all the leds arranged in this way already. The Complexity Of Different Output Devices Essay Introduction When looking at things such as watching TV, browsing through the Internet or even looking at your mobile phone, it seems like something simple. However, this is not the case. Processes related to how information is received through devices are very complex, these are known as Display Output Devices. They are responsible for receiving data in different forms: images, videos, numbers, words, and even sounds. Examples of these devices include televisions, computer screens, mobiles, printers and cameras. This paper will discuss the complexity of different output devices, functions they carry out, and how the functions are carried out. (Output device, Wikipedia, 2014). Part 1 : projectors are output devices that take images already saved on computers or captured by mobiles and reflect these images on a flat surface. There are three types of projectors which are : LCD(liquid crystal display), DLP(digital light processing) and CRT (cathode ray tube ) and also there are two important things we must know before purchasing a projector which are the brightness and resolution. The quality of the brightness differs from one type to another so if we talk about LCD so the brightness lamp must be between 800 and 1000 to get a shiny image but for DLB the brightness lamp must be 1000 not less than this, but if we want to get a perfect clear image the resolution must be XGA or WXGA but VGA and SVGA more cheaper but give less quality compared to XGA or WXGA so if we want a ...
