Faith In The Military Force
The Air Force represents one of the military branches. The Air Force also represents protection, integrity, and excellence with a mission to fly,
fight, and win in air, space, and cyberspace. The Armed Forces represent category 1 because they are a big part of my family and The United
States of America. My dad and my grandpa both served in The Air Force. Not only did my grandpa serve in The Air Force but in the Army too!
They are both combat veterans (served in a war). My great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandpa served
in the same war as General George Washington which is the Revolutionary War (in the Army). The Air Force/Armed Forces also represent category
number 2 because The Air Force/Armed Forces will benefit society after I am gone. The Air Force/Armed Forces are significant enough topass on to
the next generation because they protect us from our enemies on land, in the air, in the sea, and in space. Without any of themilitary branches including
The Air Force there most likely wouldn't be the United States of America. If there was one it would be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Faith represents more than hope or comfort but helps us believe in things we can not see. Faith represents this category because in order to pass on
faith you must pass on bibles, Torahs, Korans, and other written forms of the words of God or Lord. It is significant to pass down faith onto the next
generation because faith gives us something to believe that things will turn out right for us no matter what the situation is. Faith helps us discover who
we are, face difficult situations, and gives us a path to solve problems. Without faith, people wouldn't have anything to believe in and would make
battling through hard times nearly impossible for many since faith helps many people get over things such as death. So, it is significant to pass on faith

Lamar Odom Case Study
Lamar Odom has improved enough that it he will soon have to leave the Cedars–Sinai Medical Hospital according to Radar Online, Jan 8, 2016. It is
reported that in the next couple of days, he will be discharged and then transferred into a rehabilitation facility. This is good news for Lamar and his
family after months of wondering whether he would make it through his drug overdose. Lamar Odom, 36, was found unconscious in the Nevada
Love Ranch brothel. A source told People, "The plan is for him to move in the next few days. At the facility, Lamar will continue to receive amazing
therapy. He still has many challenges but is making progress. He is a fighter!." Khloe Kardashian stopped their divorce when Lamar was found and
she did not know whether

Personal Narrative: A Day In Ohio
The sky was still dark as I got out of my car in front of the school building. The winter morning was silent beyond the crunch of my boots in the
snow and the howl of the wind. Immediately after stepping out from the shelter of my car, I was welcomed by the piercing wind, it was relentless.
The door was about 30 feet away and had I not been scared of tripping I would've run to escape the cold. I shoved my hands in my coat pockets and
began my way to the front door. The air stung my eyes each time a gust passed, my nose began to run, and although I couldn't see for myself, I'm
sure most of my face had taken on a red color from the biting wind. As often happens in Ohio, the weather had been up and down in temperature all
week and what had been snow melted and re–froze multiple times, creating a slippery path to the building. Looking down at the ground as I walked I
did my best to miss the icy patches that were steadily being covered by the light dusting of snow as it continued to fall. Halfway to the door and nearly
under the protection of the entryway– which is covered by a roof– I looked up. But then suddenly instead of seeing the front door, welcoming me with
the inside light which from the cold, dark morning looked like the golden sun in the distance; I... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People have been bruised, and fallen sick after sitting in class shivering from their wet clothes. There even was the student four years ago, in 2012,
who had broken his elbow after he slipped while stepping from the parkway to the sidewalk. The safety of anyone visiting Smithville High School is at
risk of something which has a solution. Smithville has never made a comment on the issue; therefore, we do not know their exact reasoning behind not
keeping up with salting the ice. However, we can deduce possible reasons. In brainstorming we've come up with two potential reasons behind the issue:

Descriptive Essay On The Beast
A HUNTER
After several hours of following the trace of the beast without sleeping or even resting, Anatoly was starting to feel exhaustion getting to his bones. The
night before, right after lying down to sleep, he heard it walking around but he didnВґt manage to see it. He felt his breath warming his surroundings as
it tried to remain silent. It moved slowly expecting his guest to continue asleep; it did everything it could to observe without being observed but it
failed. Anatoly packed up immediately and began the search.
He had arrived in the country three months ago from the millennial land of the Tsars. He was marveled by the green gigantic mountains as he moved
patiently towards his destination. He saw the people covered in dark long clothes with no collars or sleeves, but a single hole for their heads to pass
through.
He stared at the old houses made of mud and manure where more insects lived than people. Dogs wandered these lands trying to protect their owners
from invisible enemies that dared to jump over the stone fences and cross their fields. Trees created a mattress of dramatic silence where spirits
whispered their lost desires.
He saw this and so much more and felt fascinated by the lost world that science had destroyed in his old continent.
When he got off the bus in the first town, he asked around about the creature that had been seen six months ago by an expeditionary German group. He
held in his hands the smudgy clipping taken from a national

My Experience With My Grandfather
My Grandfather's Lessons I remember when I was young, I loved fishing with my Grandfather because he was an amazing man who always cared
for his family. It was one of the most exciting things I did as a kid because I felt like I was bonding with my grandfather. He was always fun to be
around when he made jokes, played around, and taught me life lessons. Reeling in fishes was an accomplishment for me and my grandfather even
if it was just one, we found it as if we did something great together. I remember sitting in the boat with him one Saturday morning as we were
waiting to catch a fish. The weather was chilly 55 degrees as I recall. He was wearing his same old fishing gear [black rain boots with old 49ers hat
and a white tee shirt with dark blue pants]. The sun was barely rising and I felt amazing, the scenery was beautiful I could see the orange/redness
light of the sun rising. The boat was an old boat, but I could tell because of the green fading away on both sides, wasn't to big ether just enough to
fit 3 adults and the motor looked as if it was worn out. When I was there I didn't understand why the fishes weren't biting, I was contemplating if
the worms were good. As the time passed me and my grandfather didn't say much, I felt odd by it because we usually spoke, but this time I could
feel it was different. I could not understand why he was so quiet, and as I was about to speak my grandfather told me" Bryan as you get older there's
morals you must stick with", I

Leadership : A Successful Leader
Leadership isn't easy. In the moments of push and pull and on the spot decision making, all of the responsibility and possible repercussions of a
bad spur of the moment decision rests on a leaders shoulder. It can be overwhelming, stressful, and even intimidating at times. At what point do I
know that I am and will continue to be a successful leader? That can be a difficult question for one to answer, because success, as I have learned, is
different to everyone. A great place to begin is to point out all of the things I am doing wrong as a leader. After the reading and understanding of
"What Got You Here Won't Get You There", I've come to learn I have a few of the "bad habits" the author pointed out. It's a little too easy to look
over the list of habits the author discusses and silently think to myself that at one time or another I am probably guilty of each one. A few that I am
most guilty of are: Passing judgement, Starting with NO, BUT, HOWEVER, Failing to give proper recognition, Not listening, and Passing the buck
(Goldsmith, 2007). Though I may not portray all of these bad habits on a daily basis, it's the fact that I have exhibited them at some point in the past
that is toxic to my leadership skills. I must not only point out and take responsibility for these habits, but it is also important to know how they
negatively affect others around me and how I can easily change them with small behavior adjustments. It's definitely always easier to pass judgement on

A Stranger Essay : Kindness To A Stranger
Kindness to a Stranger
It was a chilly evening in Southern Virginia many years ago. There was the old man whose beards were glazed by the winter's frost, as he
hopelessly waited for a ride across the river. Due to the frigid north wind, his body was numb and stiff. Edward, who was passing by saw this
desperate old man, who looked so confused and helpless. He asked the old man, "what are you doing here at this late hour?" The freezing man
answered, "I am waiting for a ride to take me home." Edward took some time with the old man, as they waited for a ride to take him to the next side
of the river. The wait seemed endless and ineffective. However, they both heard the faint, steady rhythm of approaching hooves dashing along the icy
path. Anxiously, the old man and Edwin watched as several riders curved the bend. He let the first onepass without seeking attention from him.
Apparently, Edward was very annoyed, asking him the reason for not stopping the passing horseman. The man kept quiet as he checked out on
whether there was another one coming. The another one passed by, followed by other two. When Edward saw that the old man was not using any
effort to seek help from either of the riders, he was tired and decided to leave the old man alone.
After a while, the last horseman by the name John Denis neared the spot where the old man had sat like a snow statue. As this one came near, the old
man caught the horseman's eye and said, "Sir, would you mind giving a helpless old man a

Everyday Use Heritage
In "Everyday Use" by Alice Walker, there is a clear depiction of heritage and what it is; equally, there is also the image of how it may be construed.
In the story, the reader is introduced into the life of an African American family who live in a small house and struggle financially. It is a life that has
been lived by many throughout in history. Through the use of symbolism, Walker interprets the 'American Dream' as unique to each individual and the
possibility to lose it in the chaos of life. Immediately, the reader is introduced to a family who doesn't live at the top of the socioeconomic pyramid. A
family who, although live comfortably compared to many, still maintain the ideals of which they came from. Maggie and Mama live ... Show more

Collectively, these will lead to more opportunities for prosperity and success. These ideals are rooted from the Declaration of Independence, which
states that, "All men are created equal" with the right to "Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness." It is clear to see that in "Everyday Use,"
siblings of the same family have completely opposite outcomes in life. As Dee chooses to live a different life of that which she was brought into, and
Maggie's choosing the path of inheritance, culture, and tradition. In the eyes of the world, it would seem that Dee is living the "American Dream";
however, in the eyes of her family, Maggie is the one living the dream. She is true to their culture and traditions, which they hope she will keep alive.
This is perhaps the most important thing that the family has to pass on. She may not be intelligent in the sense of learning, but Maggie has the ability to
pass down the family traditions through the art of

C Entering College
It's best not to have anything lower than a C entering college in my opinion. Although it's a pass, it doesn't always look too good. The first and
second semester of senior year is important for your success and access to good universities. Unfortunately I got a little lazy in three of my classes,
one of which didn't end up so great on the record.
Science fascinates me, it makes me think and it makes me strive for a better future for all. I know so much for someone my age because I am devoted
to science. I regularly research on my own, and I pay attention in class because there is always something new to learn. The downside to being me

the last day of school before the break to warn me of possible failure if I didn't submit the paper in the morning. He gave me an extra day to write
up my paper. I took this warning seriously and left home to promptly work on it. Only about 15 minutes in on my assignment I got distracted by the
internet. Next thing you know it's early January of the next year and I find out that I failed english. My parents were dismayed in my failure to pass an
easy class because of a few assignments. I was thunderstruck at my own lack of motivation and focus that lead me to that crash. It was my first ever
fail, a legit semester F. A fail that will scar my transcript and I for ever. I decided to write the papers, made sure to get half credit for the presentation
and turned it in. Fingers crossed for a semi–raise of a grade due to my IEP and 504 plans in

Personal Narrative : Being A Glorified Butt Wiper
Being a CNA is hard and taxing on people mentally and physically. It a tiresome job that turns most people off from the start. But, I do think joy can
be found in this job. Most will say that being a CNA is like being a glorified butt wiper which I mean yes we do wipe butts but there is a lot more to
the job then that. There is relationships that are built with the residents and patients that is unique to a CNA. My job is hard and sometimes I just want
to throw in the towel. But then there's that moment that changes it all and makes you love the job even though it very hard. Being a CNA is all
about the passion, relationships with people and hard work. Growing up I was never sure on what I wanted to do like a lot of kids are. I grew up in a
family of nurses. So when I was a senior in highschool I decided to take the CNA course through my high schools Okaw program. But what really
drove me to becoming a CNA was my Grandpa's passing. He died of lung cancer in 2016 and I really did not know how to help my mom and cousin
who are both nurse. They became his full time caregivers and worked at the same time. All I wanted to do was help out with him but I really did not
have the skills for it which made me very sad I felt useless. So after he passed away I decided that I wanted to get educated on how to take care of
people and so I am able to help out in the future, that is the big reason I became a CNA.
Getting into the CNA program was hard I really did not think I could

My College Experience
Growing up, I never saw myself as one of those people who graduate high school and then off to a four–year college they went. It was hard enough just
to imagine attempting, let alone succeeding, at a two–year college. Even though, I had wondered what it might have been like to experience dorm life
at a college in another town, even state. But, for me, after high school graduation, I was enrolled at the Community College.
It didn't take long for me to realize College life probably wouldn't continue. Maybe it was the classes I was enrolled in, maybe it was knowing I
needed to find a job, or maybe it was just the excuses I used. Soon the college road, reached a sign that read, 'Dead End Approaching. Detour Ahead.
Proceed with Caution'. And with that, college became a distant memory in my rear view mirror.
It was during the early part of 2014 that I decided to walk my talk. For years, I told my son he was going to college; he was going to finish and I
would make sure he got to. But how could I say anything about college, if I couldn't back it up? By returning to college, I was going to get a degree,
proving to myself, I can accomplish and finish something. Hoping my son would see that I wasn't just talking the talk, also hoping he would be proud
of me.
Fast forward three years, and here I am, with a life road ending, approaching another sign, at the crossroads.
I DID IT!!!
I cannot believe I made it to this point. I cannot believe I am here, sitting with a DEGREE coming in

Thick mounds of snow line the streets and a thin layer of ice after all the plows pushed away the snow. My father and I were driving thru the
highway trying to get to my game. The game was at Ramapo College which was 35 min from my house to there with all the detours. As we pulled
into the parking lot there was luckily a pretty clean parking spot for us and as we got out we realized that we were very far from the court that I
played in, luckily for us there were security guards who were cleaning the snow paced parking driving around and stopped us asking if we needed a
lift. We thanked them and went into the basketball courts, thankfully I was just in time for my game, and it was about to start. I took my slides off
and started thinking what if I miss every shot, what if I do something bad, what if I lose the ball. So many thoughts yet so many things going on. I put
my shoes on and walking onto the court to get warmed up. I walked onto the court and dapped up my coach.
"Hey coach," I said. He responded with a simple "Glad to have you here." I walked up to the line jumping up and down to get warmed up a little bit. My
friend Kevin yelled out "HEADS!" I quickly turned and caught the ball. I then started to do a crossover spin move to a short pull up. *SWISH*, the

Comparing Death Of A Salesman And Fences
Legacy in 'Death of a Salesman' and 'Fences' I am convinced that the greatest legacy we can leave our children are happy memories: those precious
moments so much like pebbles on the beach that are plucked from the white sand and placed in tiny boxes that lay undisturbed on tall shelves until
one day they spill out and time repeats itself, with joy and sweet sadness, in the child now an adult. Parents play an enormous role on teaching
their children different virtues and teaching them right from wrong. Whenever you have a bad parent that passes along some less desirable traits
is when you see the troublesome children. Throughout Miller's 'Death of a Salesman' and Wilson's 'Fences', the legacy flowing through the
generations shows through the characteristics on the sons of Willy Loman and Troy Maxson. In Wilson's 'Fences', you can see some of the
virtues that Troy's father passed on to him. Troy's father was a worker and provider which shines in Troy's characteristics. He has a job and is
capable of providing for his family. Troy's father was also abusive which was passed to Troy who was abusive towards his children. Wessling
states, "moreover, August Wilson presents us with a multigenerational vision in which our sense of waste is more than balanced by an infusion of
hope. Troy 's father was less of a "true" man than Troy, but he was a worker and a provider. Troy, even as a runaway, carried with him his father 's
virtues along with a considerable lessening of the father 's

Video : The Selective Attention Test
Video 01: The Selective Attention Test
Describe: There was 6 people in the room passing around 2 different basketballs. The one group of people was wearing white while the other was
wearing black. The point of this video is to count how many times the ball is passed around among the people wearing white. As you are trying to
count all the group members they are moving and passing the ball. You are so focused on counting that you miss the gorilla walking right in the
middle of the group. The ball was passed 15 times around the group wearing white.
Your opinion: This video definitely kept your fullattention on the people passing the ball. We are so focused on counting how many times the ball is
passed that we don't even see the gorilla walking through the middle of the passing. We become blind to the unexpected even though we were
watching the screen the whole time. This study to me says people are not fully aware of what is happening around them. We often miss stuff because
we are so focused on other details.
Video 02: The "Door" Study

We were on the bus on September 9, 2017, in Brecksville, Ohio. As the bus was pulling up to the stadium it was dead on the bus as we were all
focusing in on one of the hardest games of the season. As we were getting off the bus we felt the intense heat of the sun beating down on our bodies
and the sweat was slowly foaming on our faces. During warm up we were all being very serious and not messing around, trying to prepare for the game
we were about to play. As the time of the warm up was slowly coming to an end we already had sweat dripping down our damp faces. As we
gathered in the huddle we all had a very serious look on our face all looking at each other and our coach waiting patiently to see what he had to say
before the game started. Before we went on the field our coach said, " All of the hard work, practice, and dedication isn't for nothing it's so we can
come out here play our best and leave this field with another win." Then we all huddled up and said as a team "Tigers on three, 1...2...3 TIGERS"
Then we slowly ran onto the field as both fans were cheering for their team. As we were on the field in our formation it was dead silent, so quiet you
could hear your own heart beating faster and faster as the referee was getting ready to blow the whistle to indicate the start of the game. During the
first 5 minutes of the game it was nonstop running with sweat running down your face due to the rough heat. After the first 10 minutes we were already

Graduation Test Persuasive Speech
We all hate to see people that were close to not get to graduate or walk the stage! Graduation test should definitely be removed from all states. I'm
writing about this claim because I feel to many students are pressured by graduation test. For example, students might not focus on their grades their
senior year because they are so worried about studying for their graduation test. People should read this because it gives everyone and understanding
of how kids think due to the fact I'm a child myself. People should also read this because one day a change can occur for the future kids who have to
take graduation test.
First, graduation tests need to immediately be taken away because it puts so much pressure and test anxiety on children. ... Show more content on

For example, parents may start to bash their child and maybe say bad things about how they could have did better not even knowing the difficulty of
the test. In conclusion, these test could really make people feel low of themselves if they fail." Sleeplessness, loss of self–esteem secondary to poor
performance and lifelong mental blocks can be seen in individual children. Parents, fatigued from the endless hours and days of testing, are increasingly
frustrated. And with mounting pressure to perform being directly correlated to job security, teachers have succumbed to this pressure and changed their
approach in the classroom:". "Many students do not have a fair opportunity to learn the material on the test because they attend poorly–funded schools
with large class sizes, too many teachers without subject area certification, and inadequate books, libraries, laboratories, computers and other facilities.
These students are usually from low–income families, and many also suffer problems with housing, nutrition or health care. High–stakes tests punish
them for things they cannot control.". "Schools can use the survey results, she said, to determine whether they need to increase counseling, career
training or college preparation services, or if they have them in place already, what they can do to increase the number of students they reach".
Also, another reason these test should be taken away is it could make a student feel unequal to another student

I Am A Great Leader
Leaders are everywhere and when I think of great leaders I have had the pleasure of interacting with, the first ones that come to my mind are my
Grandparents, Virgil and June Watts. After my first thought, my mind floods with many other people who I consider great leaders but my
Grandparents are always the first that I think of as great leaders. My Grandpa taught me about hard work, respect, the importance of family, and the
ability to understand you may not always get along so you have to learn to compromise sometimes. My Grandma taught me how to love, give to
others, cook, and provide for ourselves and others with what we have available. One of the most important thing my Grandparents taught me though
was, to have a passion and put one–hundred percent into it. My Grandpa with his love of music and entertaining people with playing music and my
Grandma with her love of sewing and making beautiful dresses and quilts.
I spent many nights and days with my Grandparents and often see them as playing the biggest role in the person I turned out to be. When it comes to
personal values and morals, I've shaped most of mine from what they have shown me. Although we disagree politically, I learned so much from them
about what it means to be a great leader. They taught me honesty, even when it gets myself in trouble. Loyalty, is another trait that I learned from my
Grandparents, even if it means standing up alone. They taught me compassion, having the ability to show everyone kindness

I Have A Spy?
She had sensed his presence before he passed through the tent flap, so it was no surprise when the black–robed figure of Drakar enter.
"I have a prisoner," he said in his usual dry gravelly voice.
"Bring him in."
Drakar yanked a smaller cloaked figure into the tent. With his other gloved hand, he jerked back the cloak's hood to reveal a blond–haired young man
with a bruised face, and left eye swollen shut. Dried blood appeared on his lips. He blinked and looked at Faline, a curious mixture of resentment and
resignation on his face. Behind his back, bound wrists twisted at the cords.
"Where did you find him?"
"Skulking near the entrance to Knife Edge Pass. There were three, but only this one survived. They fought quite well."
"Are you a spy?" Faline asked the boy.
He ignored her. Drakar grabbed the boy's hair and twisted it. He winced and cringed, but said nothing. "Speak to the Mistress."
"Go ahead and kill me," the boy sputtered.
"Perhaps," Faline said, stepping toward him. "But not yet."
The boy looked at her, a vicious look in his eyes.
This one has courage. Too bad. She placed hands on the side of the boy's face. "Look into my eyes." He immediately closed his.
She nodded at Drakar, who placed a gloved hand on the boy's forehead and pulled upward. She pulled on his cheeks, and the eye not swollen shut

School Pass Research Paper
Little did I know the school pass I received from the office ended up being more than what I had originally thought. As a sophomore, I knew that
most of the passes were for guidance appointments or doctor's appointment. After the pass was handed to me, several thoughts ran through my mind.
What is this pass for? Maybe this is just for an appointment I had completely forgotten about. Or could I be in trouble? My legs moved quickly down
the stairs and through the main hallway, shuffling in between people to get to the main office. After getting to the office and taking a quick glance out

this was not the case. As time went on, I began to understand that school came first for her and that I needed to let her study and make new friends.
I learned to be patient and that she would get ahold of me when her time was not occupied. She got to come home for breaks, so that made things
easier for our family too. When she had the opportunity to come home for breaks, our relationship remained constant. It's like we picked up where we

Narrative Essay On My First Day In High School
My freshman year in high school was the rough compared to the normal high school things. On August 12, 2013, I almost lost my best friend; he
had smoked for twenty some years when he had a devastating heart attack. I remember the fear and the thoughts of death that made my skin shiver. It
was the second week of school on Tuesday when I got a pass at the beginning of my World History class when I got a pass with immediately circled
three or four times. The pass made me very confused considering I didn't know of any appointments I had, and I didn't ask my mom if I could go
home early. Leaving the class and entering the empty hall, thinking about what's going on as my footsteps echoing through the halls. What's going
on? Why would I be leaving this close to the end of school? As I walked past the office to my locker, I saw my mom with red eyes and purple bags
under her eyes. At that moment, my stomach flipped and knotted up, because it's at that moment when I realized something very wrong has
happened. My pace quickened to the point of almost running; shoving my French one book and Algebra one in my backpack before sprinting to
my mom. She met me by the big glass doors in the lobby of the office; laying a hand on my shoulder she told me my dad had a major heart attack. I
had felt my body instinctively lunged toward the door, but my mom held my shoulder tight. As we walked to the car, my sister was in the front seat

An Arising Problem "The only permission, the only validation and the only opinion that matters in our quest for greatness is our own" (Maraboli). In
today's world it is difficult to curb that nasty habit of seeking approval from others. It is probably due to the fact that if we don't feel like we are
accepted we will become unnoticed, unimportant or forgotten. When in reality the only sense of acceptance that is needed is within ourselves. My parent
's approval was not the easiest task to achieve. Despite my feelings throughout my experience, the moment my parents demonstrated how proud
they were of me, it all felt worth it. It is an event that has impacted how I am as a person today. "Let's go panthers, let's go!" the crowd chanted as I
sat on the bench once again watching the game intensely. Sweat was dripping down my teammates face like a melting popsicle on a hot summer
day. It was my freshman year during the last game of the season that I questioned why am I here? I worked my butt off during practice like the rest
of my teammates, how come I barely played. It was at this moment I realized I sucked at basketball and I did not want to tryout next year. All of a
sudden the coach screamed interrupting my thoughts, "Emily go in for Samantha!" I bolted off the chair and focused on what I had to do. After, I
played a good amount of time throughout the third and fourth quarter, the game ended and we took the win. My parents proudly congratulated me and
that's when the fear of

ACCOUNTING, BANKING AND FINANCE AT THE HARARE AND CHITUNGWIZA REGION OF THE ZIMBABWE OPEN UNIVERSITY.
ABSTRACT: Background: A study of the results of Management Accounting and Tax, Law and Practice for the past three semesters revealed

It has to be remembered that most of ZOU. Students are working parents with school or college going children. These kinds of pressures are the
backdrop to a typical student life at ZOU. Time management becomes an interesting challenge to those who do not have an abundance of it. When this
high–wire balancing act fails to deliver ,a scapegoat has to be found. That is when mitigating excuses are postulated e.g. the lecturers are out of
their depth in their specialty areas, modules are outdated etc. The legitimacy or not of these excuses is part of the subject of this study.
1.1)STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM: Given the above background it is apparent that there is a gap between students' expectations and the results
from their studies. 1.2)RESEARCH OBJECTIVES: a) To find out the reasons for the low pass rates in management accounting and tax, law and
practice. b) To find ways of countering this negative trend and pass our recommendations onto the relevant people. 1.3)RESEARCH QUESTIONS:
Basically here we gave out a questionnaire with a grid of possible factors that may or may not affect the students' success or failure. It was
accompanied by open ended questions. 1.4 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY: The study was necessitated by the low pass rates in the past three
semesters. Consequently the results of the study will influence how ZOU, the students and other stakeholders view and approach

What Would Go Through Your Head At The Moment Of Death
What would go through your head at the moment of death? Would it be your family, a love one, or a special person in your life or maybe a friend?
What if you had to be with a love on the moment of their death? What would go through your head at the exact moment? Would you regret not
spending enough time with them? In these two stories by Porter and Dickinson they talk about the moment of death. Both are very similar but different
in many ways.
Dickson 's poem, it 's a poem about a woman who had already passed away when she heard a buzz, unlike the short story by Porter which is about a
woman who is about to pass away but is in refusal of death. The poem Dickson wrote about was as if it were our protagonist ghost telling us about
the fly she heard on the far side of her grave. Unlike Porter's short story which was told to us by the woman who is close to death. In the short story
by Porter her state of denial is more like a must, she wasn 't ready to pass and believed that the doctor should care for someone who was actually
sick, trying to say she didn 't need that care. Her state of denial was too strong that all she could think about was the man whom she has always
loved. In the poem by Dickinson there seems to be a connection between the fly she hears buzzing and her death, which in a sense is quite spooky.
Maybe it connects in a way because flies seem to be around bad odors and when someone dies, there body begins to smell and flies begin to come
around. Throughout her

Medicine Bag Short Story
Medicine Bag
The right of passage that is most significant to me is passing down tradition like the story the medicine bag. The medicine bag has an important rite of
passage in the story because it's saying that families have their traditions. In the story Martin gets the medicine bag that his grandfather passed along to
him once he knew it was his time to go.
His grandfather came a long way to give it to Martin. He showed Martin what to put in it and what to do once it's in hi possession.
The medicine bag has the most significant rite of passage to me because passing down tradition is very important in my opinion. In the story the
grandfather came to town to give his grandson the medicine bag. He is giving the medicine bag to Martin because because it's tradition to pass it down
to the oldest male child. In the story Martin's grandfather said that once he knows it's time that he is getting ready to die is when he must pass along
the medicine bag. When Martin had to learn what to put in it his grandfather told him that he needs to replace the sage that is in it now and he needs to
put iron in it. In the story
Martin was talking to his grandfather about why he is getting the medicine bag instead of his father and his grandfather said "My son"," He went one
after clearing his throat, "had no sons, only one daughter, your mother. So the medicine bag must be passed on to you."
Another reason that the medicine bag's rite of passage is most significant to me because when his

California Budget Process
Introduction
The budget process is the most important aspect of fiscal decision making in Public Administration. Smith and Lynch (2004), argues that "Public
budgeting is an activity that many people view from their own perspectives and, thus, they do not comprehend the full complexity of budgeting" (p.
34). Similar to the contextual definition of complexity in budgeting process, a classic example was the State of California's budget impasse for the year
2010–2011. This essay examines and analyses the concerns that lead to passing a late budget in the State of California. It further goes into details
regarding the reasons, resolutions, and consequences faced due to the budget Impasse.
As published in the Press Democrat by Judy Lin (2010), "Even ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As mentioned by Thompson (2010), in the Associated Press, "Lawmakers bridged a $19 billion shortfall, more than 20 percent of the $87.5 billion
general fund spending plan". This shows that the state was heading towards a financial crisis and more deficit creation. Moreover, Thompson (2010),
in the Associated Press also points out that "It includes no tax or fee increases but uses a combination of cuts, funding shifts, delayed corporate tax
breaks and assumptions about money the state hopes to receive". The budget gave rise to other dependent costs such as delayed tax refunds. It was
uncertain that the State will receive the required funds from the federal government to ensure that the important programs will function the way it used
to be until the funds are received.
One of the important drawbacks of the budget was the cuts and delays in education funding. As published in the article "California lawmakers pass
long–overdue budget" (2010), by Fox News "Under the deal, nearly $2 billion in payments to K–12 schools and California's community colleges would
be delayed until the next fiscal year". This was one of the consequences of the late deficit budget, which lawmakers agreed upon. Stopping payments to
educational institutions was not seen as a positive feature of the budget. The delay in funding kept the educational programs on hold, which affected

The Battle Of The Civil War
It was a group of radical Republicans and southern Democrats in 1865 that set the tone for one of the most infamous and earlier gridlock stories in
Congress. After the assignation of Abraham Lincoln, Andrew Johnson became president and the dispute incurred over how to fix the country. The
Civil War had left the country with insurmountable damage and Congress could not agree on how to rectify the situation. Northern Republicans wanted
to open voting rights to former slaves, which is exactly what the southern Democrats did not want. These Republicans, wanting to get more votes,
passed two voting right pieces of legislation, which Johnson vetoes. Thus begins not only gridlock in Congress, but also attempted impeachment of
Andrew Jackson. Gridlock is brought about by valid and meaningful pieces of legislations that both major political parties cannot agree to instate and
while Congress may not agree to pass it, most often it is the citizens that suffer. (Browning)
There are various reasons for Congress to achieve gridlock. Wikipedia defines congressional gridlock as, "a situation when there is difficulty in
passing laws that satisfy the needs of the people... when the ration between bill s passed and the agenda of the legislature decreases." (Wikipedia) Sarah
Binder writer for Brookings states, " Alexander Hamilton was complaining more than two centuries ago about the deadlock rooted in the design of the
Continental Congress. In many ways, "gridlock is endemic to our

Essay On Footwork In Volleyball
On the whole; volleyball can be very difficult, one thing that makes it so hard is passing. There are two ways to pass; the fore–arm pass also known
as the bump, and the set. A bump is when the player sticks out their arms with their forearms to the sky. This creates a flat surface for the ball to
land on and "bump" up. As the ball is approaching the player they get lower to the ground like a squat and raise themselves as they contact the ball.
The set is when the player raises their hands and creates a diamond with their index fingers and thumbs. The rest of the fingers are spread out to
cover more space on the ball. It is very light with little to no rotation, the set is hard to do but when it is perfected; it helps the game greatly. Foot
work and the position of the ball helps a lot too. Footwork helps in getting the ball up in the air for the setter to do their job and keep the game going.
Footwork is a necessary part in volleyball. Ball placement is also very important... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the player is not at the right place at the right time, the ball is going to hit the court. A very important element for positioning is footwork.
Without proper footwork, the game known as volleyball would be very difficult. The player needs to have quick feet and know where to step and
when. Speed is also very important; volleyball has a lot of movement to it. Moving up to the net and then moving back to hit, then moving up and
back repeat. To do it right, speed is very important to have. Awareness on the court is necessary, the players need to know who is where and where
is the ball. Without awareness the player runs the risk of getting hit by the ball and losing the game for the team. Finally, the last aspect to positioning
is quick thinking. The player needs to know where to hit the ball and which way to pass very fast. Also setters need to know who to set in order to get
a good hit for the

Descriptive Essay About Football
"Hurry, Hurry what is taking you so long," yelled mom? "I am coming, just give me one more minute," I replied. My family is already in the car,
as usual waiting on me, but I ran out of the door as quick as I could, so I could jump into my car. I can't help but to shake, for all I am a nervous
mess. It almost looked like my hands were as sweaty as Niagara falls. It is springtime, so the gentle green grass, was super nice to play on in soccer
season. Shortly after being in the car, for about 30 minutes we arrive at the field. I can just feel my stomach clench up as I step out of the car. I
tried walking as slow as I could to the soccer field, as I thought it would make me feel better. But then I heard a voice.... "Come on pick up those
knees Barrett," My dad screeched. "I am going dad," I quivered out. Entering on the field, you could see the other team, they had blue jerseys on.
They all were tall, and they looked intense. We all put down out water bottles to get ready for stretches. Our whole team lines up in 3 different
lines and one person just randomly starts to yell out random stretches that we all follow. Next we all grab a ball and start long distance passing. I
feel like I am gonna throw up, dizzy, and don't know what I am doing. But I can't back down, well at least not now. Most of the time I have the same
partner, Lauren Roenfeldt. She keeps me company, don't get me wrong I love my team but she is the one who makes it the most memorable.

Lob Pass Defense
The one–three–one or "lob pass" defense is a zone defense commonly used in basketball. The one–three–one defense became famous from it's use by
the legendary Bernard "Red" Sarachek. Bernard was a basketball coach for Yeshiva University in New York City from 1940 to 1969. This feared
defense when ran correctly has very many advantages. However there are still a few flaws in this defense. This defense is named for its formation
since there is one defender at the point, three defenders at the free throw level, and one defender at the base line. The main focus of this defensive
strategy is to force turnovers. This is done by using quick, pestering defensive tactics, and anticipating any passes to attempt a steal. To help create
more turnover a two–man trap is implemented into this defense. While the offense drives the ball down the court the defense attempts to guide the ball
handler towards a corner. If successful two defenders quickly close in, and double team the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First the offense has to adjust to your defense. Since the one–three–one defense is so unique, and different to most defenses the opposing teams can't
run their regular offense. They are forced to adjust, and play much differently than they're used to. When they are forced to adjust this may cause mass
confusion. As a result of the uniqueness of the defense, players will be confused as to how they should play against it, and where it's best to attack the
zone. Another advantage would be that this is a fantastic defense to implement mid–game when you want to change the tempo or need a couple of
quick steals. When your team does get steals they're in the perfect positions to run the floor, and get an easy score. Both wings sprint the sidelines, and
the chaser will usually be the person in front. Finally the one–three–one has plenty of variations, and adjustments that will allow you to easily adjust to
different teams, and counteract their

My Future Goals
One of the most definite answers about my future goals, when I was young, was "I want to be a doctor." I commonly caught myself fantasizing about
treating patients and using the magnificent machines I see in movies to treat people. My ideas were not motivated by my experience. My ideas were
based on movies and other nice stories that I had heard to construct my ideas about my ideal job and education potential. Currently, I wish it was as
easy as I once thought. As I have matured and gotten older, I have realized that to accomplish any career; one has to work very hard and be
passionate about it. I have also learned that my accomplishment of my educational goals is not solemnly based on my abilities, but also the input of the
teachers. Through experience, I have learned that for one to achieve, they should not only be motivated to excel, but also be led by talented and
motivated teachers.
I learned from two separate experiences that the success of a student depends on their input as well as the input of their teachers and their hard work.
I learned that the application of different techniques was important for students to understand and get interested in a subject. An example of a
negative experience I have had in my educational life was when I was in my junior year of studies. I had an algebra class that I was supposed to pass to
do the take an advanced class. The course had an excellent teacher. She was friendly in class, and her delivery was always excellent. However, I

STAAR Test Lessons: My Sophomore Year Of High School
STAAR Test Lessons: Rough Draft
I took the English 2 STAAR test in late April of my sophomore year of high school. The test determines your reading and writing skills that you've
learned in the grade level. After a semester and a half of preparation for this 4 hour–long test, I was ready. Ever since I moved to the U.S., I've been a
smart student. I was always studying every night, went to some tutoring a couple of times to clear out some stuff, and I got the grades that I studied
for. I was confident and knew that I was going to pass this test. But then summer came and I saw my results.
The English STAAR test was by far the most stressful exam that I've ever taken in my life. I passed every part of the test except reading. I've never

I've always been really hard on myself when it comes to academics and it got to the point that I was stressed out everyday. I also decided to be
more patient with the process. Mr. Frost and I kept practicing after school every Monday and Wednesday. Two weeks before test day, during one of
our after school practices, Mr. Frost told me, "John, I think you are ready. No more meetings", he said proudly. After that day, we stopped with the
meetings after school. Now I was just waiting for test day patiently. The test was on March. I walked in to the testing room with " How am I going
to do?" and I walked away from the room saying to myself, "I did it". Three weeks later, the results arrived. I was patiently waiting for Mr. Frost to
hand me over the results. As soon as I saw the results, I screamed for joy. I, John Paul Adams, passed the English 2 STAAR test. I was the happiest
student in that classroom that day. I went over to Mr. Frost and before I even said anything he said, "I already know that you came over here to tell
me that you passed so might as well give me a hug right now kiddo", he said while opening his arms so that I could give him a hug. I learned so much
from this experience. It taught me just how hard work really pays off and if you put in the time and effort, with a positive mindset, you can accomplish
anything that you want. After failing the test for the first time, I started

Literary Analysis Of Annihilated Time
Literary Analysis Annihilated Time Although many may not believe it until it happens to them, time can pass by so swiftly that one won't even
register it at first. Yes, time passing is a part of life, but the realization of it is another story within itself. "Forgetfulness," a poem by Billy Collins,
and an excerpt from "Once More to the Lake" by E.B. White both provide a clear example of how fast time can go by. In Collin's piece, he puts
together many various ideas one can forget as their life moves incredibly fast. Likewise, in White's "Once More to the Lake," the narrator struggles
to understand how quickly time really passed and how his son is so similaralike to him. Both of these pieces of writing use X syntax and X diction
to develop the common theme of annihilated time. First off, "Once More to the Lake" and "Forgetfulness" each utilize nostalgic diction in order to
generate the theme of annihilated time. In "Once More to the Lake," the narrator takes his son to a lake in Maine that he always went to as a child.
Throughout the story, he mentions how he sees himself in his son, hence getting him caught up with how quickly time flew by. In more detail, he
chooses specific words to describe these feelings, such as "sustain the illusion" (White 2) and "revisit old haunts" (White 1). By using these specific
words to explain his experience with his son, it makes it seem both natural and unnatural, similar to the passing of forgotten time. Moreover, these

Summary Of How To Touch A Bleeding Dog
Love can often cause people to adjust their lifestyle to another person's. How to Touch a Bleeding Dog shows how a guy who once had a wife that
he loved took care of one of her most precious possessions. It's safe to say the average human being doesn't have to have mutual friendship (a human)
with the dog in order to like him/her. In this case however the main character from this short story says that the dog is not his, but is his
responsibility. This responsibility seemed to fall to him due to the passing of his wife. One could even say he seems disconnected from the world
from the relationship that is seen between him and his dog. The dogs passing could be seen as a metaphor for the Beth leaving her husband on his
own to provide for himself, to take care of any possessions she may have had, and to fight his depression alone. The main character is now having
feelings of loneliness and depression. The first paragraph states that "inside is warm", and "outside is cold", This could be tied as symbolism of
the fact that he is secluding himself from the world. When the dog passed away the main character said that "it's not my dog, but it's my
responsibility", this can make the reader think of all of the other responsibilities that the main character was left with. There are definitely some
parallels between the dog and Beth. They both end up being burdens on the main character and leaving behind more for him to deal with. After the
dog passes away the main character says "the blood on the carpet of the car is out of sight, and I will pretend it isn't there. And then there's the
touch." The touch can be seen as how the dog emotionally affected him by passing away. The dog did bring sadness to the main characters life due to
the memories the main character seemed to have when he interacted with the dog. "I watched my hand volunteer itself and run its finger through the
nap of his head". The way this sentence is put together makes it sound as if his caring for the dog was an involuntary action. One would think that if
the pet had a close connection to a person, and that person has passed away that someone who misses the person that has passed may use the pet to
help with the loss. The main character's

Hot Potato Evaluation
Evaluation of Objectives #1
Social development: Sharing– The children will respectfully share materials during play.
This developmental object was displayed through the "Hot potato" (share the animal) activity. The activity consisted of a sharing action, by passing on
the different animal to the next preschooler. I believe that the objective was achieved though this activity, as except onechild was eventually able to pass
along the animals properly. For example, in blue group six preschooler automatically comprehended the objective of the game and passed the animals
along smoothly, while two (G.M and G.P) children need to be reminded that this is a sharing activity and that we need to continuously pass along the
animals. In yellow group every ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As I read the book about sharing and taking turns, I asked the preschoolers to describe what they see and how the characters are feeling. The
objective was only partially achieved in the yellow group as I did not give an introduction explaining my book. This mistake could of possibly
made it more difficult for the children to describe the scenario in the story, as they did not know what to focus on. On the other hand, I did ask
questions throughout the book, prompting children to use descriptive words to describe how the characters were feeling. For example, F.W was able
to explain and use descriptive words when answering my questions throughout the book, but at the end of the book she was not able to describe the
main theme. All eight children reacted the same way. This is my fault as I did not specify where the preschoolers should maintain their focus.
Therefore, my second time implementing the activity allowed all eight children in the blue group to fully achieve the objective, as I made sure to be
more clear about what the children should focus on, helping them interact and understand more thoroughly. Overall, the children reacted well to the
book as I used different tones to keep them

The Dance Team-Personal Narrative
It was it. Today was the day that all of our hard work and preparation would matter. Weeks of conditioning and giving up our social lives to train
were finally put to work. It was it. It was the NLL championship track meet. Right from when I woke up the day felt different. My stomach churned
and all I could think about was how much I wanted to win. I could barely eat because my nerves were nibbling away at me. As I was getting driven to
school, I kept picturing my running strategy in my head. I had two races tonight, the 400 meter dash and the 4x400 relay. Our relay team had put in
hours of work. Our handoffs were now nearly seamless, and we knew tonight was going to be our run. The rest off the school day went on as "typical",

line felt great, even though I did not race nearly as well as I had wanted to. I was just happy to be there. Over the announcements soon after I heard
that I had gotten seventh overall and I was very happy. There were so many girls in the NLL and I placed 7th out of all the 400 meter dash
runners. Plus, I always had next year. Now, it was time for the race I was most excited for, the 4x400. It was the same distance as my previous run,
but our relay had a shot of winning the title of first. We all got in the infield and practiced our handoffs. They had to perfect, seamless and quick.
The difference between a good and bad handoff could cost us first place. Our event was last, so we cheered on our team as they completed theirs.
Looking at the scoreboard so far, we knew there was no chance we could come back and win with only the few events we had left. That didn't matter
though, because we had to show we don't give up and do what we

Faith In The Military Force

  • 1. Faith In The Military Force The Air Force represents one of the military branches. The Air Force also represents protection, integrity, and excellence with a mission to fly, fight, and win in air, space, and cyberspace. The Armed Forces represent category 1 because they are a big part of my family and The United States of America. My dad and my grandpa both served in The Air Force. Not only did my grandpa serve in The Air Force but in the Army too! They are both combat veterans (served in a war). My great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandpa served in the same war as General George Washington which is the Revolutionary War (in the Army). The Air Force/Armed Forces also represent category number 2 because The Air Force/Armed Forces will benefit society after I am gone. The Air Force/Armed Forces are significant enough topass on to the next generation because they protect us from our enemies on land, in the air, in the sea, and in space. Without any of themilitary branches including The Air Force there most likely wouldn't be the United States of America. If there was one it would be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Faith represents more than hope or comfort but helps us believe in things we can not see. Faith represents this category because in order to pass on faith you must pass on bibles, Torahs, Korans, and other written forms of the words of God or Lord. It is significant to pass down faith onto the next generation because faith gives us something to believe that things will turn out right for us no matter what the situation is. Faith helps us discover who we are, face difficult situations, and gives us a path to solve problems. Without faith, people wouldn't have anything to believe in and would make battling through hard times nearly impossible for many since faith helps many people get over things such as death. So, it is significant to pass on faith to the next ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is reported that in the next couple of days, he will be discharged and then transferred into a rehabilitation facility. This is good news for Lamar and his family after months of wondering whether he would make it through his drug overdose. Lamar Odom, 36, was found unconscious in the Nevada Love Ranch brothel. A source told People, "The plan is for him to move in the next few days. At the facility, Lamar will continue to receive amazing therapy. He still has many challenges but is making progress. He is a fighter!." Khloe Kardashian stopped their divorce when Lamar was found and she did not know whether ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Personal Narrative: A Day In Ohio The sky was still dark as I got out of my car in front of the school building. The winter morning was silent beyond the crunch of my boots in the snow and the howl of the wind. Immediately after stepping out from the shelter of my car, I was welcomed by the piercing wind, it was relentless. The door was about 30 feet away and had I not been scared of tripping I would've run to escape the cold. I shoved my hands in my coat pockets and began my way to the front door. The air stung my eyes each time a gust passed, my nose began to run, and although I couldn't see for myself, I'm sure most of my face had taken on a red color from the biting wind. As often happens in Ohio, the weather had been up and down in temperature all week and what had been snow melted and re–froze multiple times, creating a slippery path to the building. Looking down at the ground as I walked I did my best to miss the icy patches that were steadily being covered by the light dusting of snow as it continued to fall. Halfway to the door and nearly under the protection of the entryway– which is covered by a roof– I looked up. But then suddenly instead of seeing the front door, welcoming me with the inside light which from the cold, dark morning looked like the golden sun in the distance; I... There even was the student four years ago, in 2012, who had broken his elbow after he slipped while stepping from the parkway to the sidewalk. The safety of anyone visiting Smithville High School is at risk of something which has a solution. Smithville has never made a comment on the issue; therefore, we do not know their exact reasoning behind not keeping up with salting the ice. However, we can deduce possible reasons. In brainstorming we've come up with two potential reasons behind the issue: lack of funds and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Descriptive Essay On The Beast A HUNTER After several hours of following the trace of the beast without sleeping or even resting, Anatoly was starting to feel exhaustion getting to his bones. The night before, right after lying down to sleep, he heard it walking around but he didnВґt manage to see it. He felt his breath warming his surroundings as it tried to remain silent. It moved slowly expecting his guest to continue asleep; it did everything it could to observe without being observed but it failed. Anatoly packed up immediately and began the search. He had arrived in the country three months ago from the millennial land of the Tsars. He was marveled by the green gigantic mountains as he moved patiently towards his destination. He saw the people covered in dark long clothes with no collars or sleeves, but a single hole for their heads to pass through. He stared at the old houses made of mud and manure where more insects lived than people. Dogs wandered these lands trying to protect their owners from invisible enemies that dared to jump over the stone fences and cross their fields. Trees created a mattress of dramatic silence where spirits whispered their lost desires. He saw this and so much more and felt fascinated by the lost world that science had destroyed in his old continent. When he got off the bus in the first town, he asked around about the creature that had been seen six months ago by an expeditionary German group. He held in his hands the smudgy clipping taken from a national ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. My Experience With My Grandfather My Grandfather's Lessons I remember when I was young, I loved fishing with my Grandfather because he was an amazing man who always cared for his family. It was one of the most exciting things I did as a kid because I felt like I was bonding with my grandfather. He was always fun to be around when he made jokes, played around, and taught me life lessons. Reeling in fishes was an accomplishment for me and my grandfather even if it was just one, we found it as if we did something great together. I remember sitting in the boat with him one Saturday morning as we were waiting to catch a fish. The weather was chilly 55 degrees as I recall. He was wearing his same old fishing gear [black rain boots with old 49ers hat and a white tee shirt with dark blue pants]. The sun was barely rising and I felt amazing, the scenery was beautiful I could see the orange/redness light of the sun rising. The boat was an old boat, but I could tell because of the green fading away on both sides, wasn't to big ether just enough to fit 3 adults and the motor looked as if it was worn out. When I was there I didn't understand why the fishes weren't biting, I was contemplating if the worms were good. As the time passed me and my grandfather didn't say much, I felt odd by it because we usually spoke, but this time I could feel it was different. I could not understand why he was so quiet, and as I was about to speak my grandfather told me" Bryan as you get older there's morals you must stick with", I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Leadership : A Successful Leader Leadership isn't easy. In the moments of push and pull and on the spot decision making, all of the responsibility and possible repercussions of a bad spur of the moment decision rests on a leaders shoulder. It can be overwhelming, stressful, and even intimidating at times. At what point do I know that I am and will continue to be a successful leader? That can be a difficult question for one to answer, because success, as I have learned, is different to everyone. A great place to begin is to point out all of the things I am doing wrong as a leader. After the reading and understanding of "What Got You Here Won't Get You There", I've come to learn I have a few of the "bad habits" the author pointed out. It's a little too easy to look over the list of habits the author discusses and silently think to myself that at one time or another I am probably guilty of each one. A few that I am most guilty of are: Passing judgement, Starting with NO, BUT, HOWEVER, Failing to give proper recognition, Not listening, and Passing the buck (Goldsmith, 2007). Though I may not portray all of these bad habits on a daily basis, it's the fact that I have exhibited them at some point in the past that is toxic to my leadership skills. I must not only point out and take responsibility for these habits, but it is also important to know how they negatively affect others around me and how I can easily change them with small behavior adjustments. It's definitely always easier to pass judgement on others ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. A Stranger Essay : Kindness To A Stranger Kindness to a Stranger It was a chilly evening in Southern Virginia many years ago. There was the old man whose beards were glazed by the winter's frost, as he hopelessly waited for a ride across the river. Due to the frigid north wind, his body was numb and stiff. Edward, who was passing by saw this desperate old man, who looked so confused and helpless. He asked the old man, "what are you doing here at this late hour?" The freezing man answered, "I am waiting for a ride to take me home." Edward took some time with the old man, as they waited for a ride to take him to the next side of the river. The wait seemed endless and ineffective. However, they both heard the faint, steady rhythm of approaching hooves dashing along the icy path. Anxiously, the old man and Edwin watched as several riders curved the bend. He let the first onepass without seeking attention from him. Apparently, Edward was very annoyed, asking him the reason for not stopping the passing horseman. The man kept quiet as he checked out on whether there was another one coming. The another one passed by, followed by other two. When Edward saw that the old man was not using any effort to seek help from either of the riders, he was tired and decided to leave the old man alone. After a while, the last horseman by the name John Denis neared the spot where the old man had sat like a snow statue. As this one came near, the old man caught the horseman's eye and said, "Sir, would you mind giving a helpless old man a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Everyday Use Heritage In "Everyday Use" by Alice Walker, there is a clear depiction of heritage and what it is; equally, there is also the image of how it may be construed. In the story, the reader is introduced into the life of an African American family who live in a small house and struggle financially. It is a life that has been lived by many throughout in history. Through the use of symbolism, Walker interprets the 'American Dream' as unique to each individual and the possibility to lose it in the chaos of life. Immediately, the reader is introduced to a family who doesn't live at the top of the socioeconomic pyramid. A family who, although live comfortably compared to many, still maintain the ideals of which they came from. Maggie and Mama live ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Collectively, these will lead to more opportunities for prosperity and success. These ideals are rooted from the Declaration of Independence, which states that, "All men are created equal" with the right to "Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness." It is clear to see that in "Everyday Use," siblings of the same family have completely opposite outcomes in life. As Dee chooses to live a different life of that which she was brought into, and Maggie's choosing the path of inheritance, culture, and tradition. In the eyes of the world, it would seem that Dee is living the "American Dream"; however, in the eyes of her family, Maggie is the one living the dream. She is true to their culture and traditions, which they hope she will keep alive. This is perhaps the most important thing that the family has to pass on. • 9. C Entering College It's best not to have anything lower than a C entering college in my opinion. Although it's a pass, it doesn't always look too good. The first and second semester of senior year is important for your success and access to good universities. Unfortunately I got a little lazy in three of my classes, one of which didn't end up so great on the record. Science fascinates me, it makes me think and it makes me strive for a better future for all. I know so much for someone my age because I am devoted to science. I regularly research on my own, and I pay attention in class because there is always something new to learn. The downside to being me though, is my lack of motivation and procrastination when it comes to homework assignments. In my mind, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One was a major presentation to which I did the slides but missed the day of presentation. I left my partner in the dust and because of that I got an F on that assignment. The last two assignments were huge grades especially since one was our final. Mr. Booth, my english teacher, called me on the last day of school before the break to warn me of possible failure if I didn't submit the paper in the morning. He gave me an extra day to write up my paper. I took this warning seriously and left home to promptly work on it. Only about 15 minutes in on my assignment I got distracted by the internet. Next thing you know it's early January of the next year and I find out that I failed english. My parents were dismayed in my failure to pass an easy class because of a few assignments. I was thunderstruck at my own lack of motivation and focus that lead me to that crash. It was my first ever fail, a legit semester F. A fail that will scar my transcript and I for ever. I decided to write the papers, made sure to get half credit for the presentation and turned it in. Fingers crossed for a semi–raise of a grade due to my IEP and 504 plans in ... • 10. Personal Narrative : Being A Glorified Butt Wiper Being a CNA is hard and taxing on people mentally and physically. It a tiresome job that turns most people off from the start. But, I do think joy can be found in this job. Most will say that being a CNA is like being a glorified butt wiper which I mean yes we do wipe butts but there is a lot more to the job then that. There is relationships that are built with the residents and patients that is unique to a CNA. My job is hard and sometimes I just want to throw in the towel. But then there's that moment that changes it all and makes you love the job even though it very hard. Being a CNA is all about the passion, relationships with people and hard work. Growing up I was never sure on what I wanted to do like a lot of kids are. I grew up in a family of nurses. So when I was a senior in highschool I decided to take the CNA course through my high schools Okaw program. But what really drove me to becoming a CNA was my Grandpa's passing. He died of lung cancer in 2016 and I really did not know how to help my mom and cousin who are both nurse. They became his full time caregivers and worked at the same time. All I wanted to do was help out with him but I really did not have the skills for it which made me very sad I felt useless. So after he passed away I decided that I wanted to get educated on how to take care of people and so I am able to help out in the future, that is the big reason I became a CNA. Getting into the CNA program was hard I really did not think I could ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. My College Experience Growing up, I never saw myself as one of those people who graduate high school and then off to a four–year college they went. It was hard enough just to imagine attempting, let alone succeeding, at a two–year college. Even though, I had wondered what it might have been like to experience dorm life at a college in another town, even state. But, for me, after high school graduation, I was enrolled at the Community College. It didn't take long for me to realize College life probably wouldn't continue. Maybe it was the classes I was enrolled in, maybe it was knowing I needed to find a job, or maybe it was just the excuses I used. Soon the college road, reached a sign that read, 'Dead End Approaching. Detour Ahead. Proceed with Caution'. And with that, college became a distant memory in my rear view mirror. It was during the early part of 2014 that I decided to walk my talk. For years, I told my son he was going to college; he was going to finish and I would make sure he got to. But how could I say anything about college, if I couldn't back it up? By returning to college, I was going to get a degree, proving to myself, I can accomplish and finish something. Hoping my son would see that I wasn't just talking the talk, also hoping he would be proud of me. Fast forward three years, and here I am, with a life road ending, approaching another sign, at the crossroads. I DID IT!!! I cannot believe I made it to this point. I cannot believe I am here, sitting with a DEGREE coming in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Descriptive Essay About Basketball Thick mounds of snow line the streets and a thin layer of ice after all the plows pushed away the snow. My father and I were driving thru the highway trying to get to my game. The game was at Ramapo College which was 35 min from my house to there with all the detours. As we pulled into the parking lot there was luckily a pretty clean parking spot for us and as we got out we realized that we were very far from the court that I played in, luckily for us there were security guards who were cleaning the snow paced parking driving around and stopped us asking if we needed a lift. We thanked them and went into the basketball courts, thankfully I was just in time for my game, and it was about to start. I took my slides off and started thinking what if I miss every shot, what if I do something bad, what if I lose the ball. So many thoughts yet so many things going on. I put my shoes on and walking onto the court to get warmed up. I walked onto the court and dapped up my coach. "Hey coach," I said. He responded with a simple "Glad to have you here." I walked up to the line jumping up and down to get warmed up a little bit. My friend Kevin yelled out "HEADS!" I quickly turned and caught the ball. I then started to do a crossover spin move to a short pull up. *SWISH*, the net went as my shot drained right in. • 13. Comparing Death Of A Salesman And Fences Legacy in 'Death of a Salesman' and 'Fences' I am convinced that the greatest legacy we can leave our children are happy memories: those precious moments so much like pebbles on the beach that are plucked from the white sand and placed in tiny boxes that lay undisturbed on tall shelves until one day they spill out and time repeats itself, with joy and sweet sadness, in the child now an adult. Parents play an enormous role on teaching their children different virtues and teaching them right from wrong. Whenever you have a bad parent that passes along some less desirable traits is when you see the troublesome children. Throughout Miller's 'Death of a Salesman' and Wilson's 'Fences', the legacy flowing through the generations shows through the characteristics on the sons of Willy Loman and Troy Maxson. In Wilson's 'Fences', you can see some of the virtues that Troy's father passed on to him. Troy's father was a worker and provider which shines in Troy's characteristics. He has a job and is capable of providing for his family. Troy's father was also abusive which was passed to Troy who was abusive towards his children. Wessling states, "moreover, August Wilson presents us with a multigenerational vision in which our sense of waste is more than balanced by an infusion of hope. Troy 's father was less of a "true" man than Troy, but he was a worker and a provider. The one group of people was wearing white while the other was wearing black. The point of this video is to count how many times the ball is passed around among the people wearing white. As you are trying to count all the group members they are moving and passing the ball. You are so focused on counting that you miss the gorilla walking right in the middle of the group. The ball was passed 15 times around the group wearing white. Your opinion: This video definitely kept your fullattention on the people passing the ball. We are so focused on counting how many times the ball is passed that we don't even see the gorilla walking through the middle of the passing. We become blind to the unexpected even though we were watching the screen the whole time. This study to me says people are not fully aware of what is happening around them. We often miss stuff because we are so focused on other details. Video 02: The "Door" Study Describe: There is a younger gentlemen giving directions to an elderly gentlemen with white hair. As the young guy was giving directions, two men carrying a door passes right through them. • 15. Descriptive Essay On Football We were on the bus on September 9, 2017, in Brecksville, Ohio. As the bus was pulling up to the stadium it was dead on the bus as we were all focusing in on one of the hardest games of the season. As we were getting off the bus we felt the intense heat of the sun beating down on our bodies and the sweat was slowly foaming on our faces. During warm up we were all being very serious and not messing around, trying to prepare for the game we were about to play. As the time of the warm up was slowly coming to an end we already had sweat dripping down our damp faces. As we gathered in the huddle we all had a very serious look on our face all looking at each other and our coach waiting patiently to see what he had to say before the game started. Before we went on the field our coach said, " All of the hard work, practice, and dedication isn't for nothing it's so we can come out here play our best and leave this field with another win." Then we all huddled up and said as a team "Tigers on three, 1...2...3 TIGERS" Then we slowly ran onto the field as both fans were cheering for their team. As we were on the field in our formation it was dead silent, so quiet you could hear your own heart beating faster and faster as the referee was getting ready to blow the whistle to indicate the start of the game. During the first 5 minutes of the game it was nonstop running with sweat running down your face due to the rough heat. After the first 10 minutes we were already really tired ... I Am A Great Leader Leaders are everywhere and when I think of great leaders I have had the pleasure of interacting with, the first ones that come to my mind are my Grandparents, Virgil and June Watts. After my first thought, my mind floods with many other people who I consider great leaders but my Grandparents are always the first that I think of as great leaders. My Grandpa taught me about hard work, respect, the importance of family, and the ability to understand you may not always get along so you have to learn to compromise sometimes. My Grandma taught me how to love, give to others, cook, and provide for ourselves and others with what we have available. One of the most important thing my Grandparents taught me though was, to have a passion and put one–hundred percent into it. My Grandpa with his love of music and entertaining people with playing music and my Grandma with her love of sewing and making beautiful dresses and quilts. I spent many nights and days with my Grandparents and often see them as playing the biggest role in the person I turned out to be. When it comes to personal values and morals, I've shaped most of mine from what they have shown me. Although we disagree politically, I learned so much from them about what it means to be a great leader. They taught me honesty, even when it gets myself in trouble. "Skulking near the entrance to Knife Edge Pass. There were three, but only this one survived. They fought quite well." "Are you a spy?" Faline asked the boy. He ignored her. Would it be your family, a love one, or a special person in your life or maybe a friend? What if you had to be with a love on the moment of their death? What would go through your head at the exact moment? Would you regret not spending enough time with them? In these two stories by Porter and Dickinson they talk about the moment of death. Both are very similar but different in many ways. Dickson 's poem, it 's a poem about a woman who had already passed away when she heard a buzz, unlike the short story by Porter which is about a woman who is about to pass away but is in refusal of death. The poem Dickson wrote about was as if it were our protagonist ghost telling us about the fly she heard on the far side of her grave. Unlike Porter's short story which was told to us by the woman who is close to death. In the short story by Porter her state of denial is more like a must, she wasn 't ready to pass and believed that the doctor should care for someone who was actually sick, trying to say she didn 't need that care. Her state of denial was too strong that all she could think about was the man whom she has always loved. In the poem by Dickinson there seems to be a connection between the fly she hears buzzing and her death, which in a sense is quite spooky. Maybe it connects in a way because flies seem to be around bad odors and when someone dies, there body begins to smell and flies begin to come around. Throughout her ... Smith and Lynch (2004), argues that "Public budgeting is an activity that many people view from their own perspectives and, thus, they do not comprehend the full complexity of budgeting" (p. 34). Similar to the contextual definition of complexity in budgeting process, a classic example was the State of California's budget impasse for the year 2010–2011. This essay examines and analyses the concerns that lead to passing a late budget in the State of California. Moreover, Thompson (2010), in the Associated Press also points out that "It includes no tax or fee increases but uses a combination of cuts, funding shifts, delayed corporate tax breaks and assumptions about money the state hopes to receive". The budget gave rise to other dependent costs such as delayed tax refunds. It was uncertain that the State will receive the required funds from the federal government to ensure that the important programs will function the way it used to be until the funds are received. One of the important drawbacks of the budget was the cuts and delays in education funding. As published in the article "California lawmakers pass long–overdue budget" (2010), by Fox News "Under the deal, nearly $2 billion in payments to K–12 schools and California's community colleges would be delayed until the next fiscal year". This was one of the consequences of the late deficit budget, which lawmakers agreed upon. Stopping payments to educational institutions was not seen as a positive feature of the budget. After the assignation of Abraham Lincoln, Andrew Johnson became president and the dispute incurred over how to fix the country. The Civil War had left the country with insurmountable damage and Congress could not agree on how to rectify the situation. Northern Republicans wanted to open voting rights to former slaves, which is exactly what the southern Democrats did not want. These Republicans, wanting to get more votes, passed two voting right pieces of legislation, which Johnson vetoes. Thus begins not only gridlock in Congress, but also attempted impeachment of Andrew Jackson. Gridlock is brought about by valid and meaningful pieces of legislations that both major political parties cannot agree to instate and while Congress may not agree to pass it, most often it is the citizens that suffer. • 29. Essay On Footwork In Volleyball On the whole; volleyball can be very difficult, one thing that makes it so hard is passing. There are two ways to pass; the fore–arm pass also known as the bump, and the set. A bump is when the player sticks out their arms with their forearms to the sky. This creates a flat surface for the ball to land on and "bump" up. As the ball is approaching the player they get lower to the ground like a squat and raise themselves as they contact the ball. The set is when the player raises their hands and creates a diamond with their index fingers and thumbs. The rest of the fingers are spread out to cover more space on the ball. It is very light with little to no rotation, the set is hard to do but when it is perfected; it helps the game greatly. Foot work and the position of the ball helps a lot too. The one–three–one defense became famous from it's use by the legendary Bernard "Red" Sarachek. Bernard was a basketball coach for Yeshiva University in New York City from 1940 to 1969. This feared defense when ran correctly has very many advantages. However there are still a few flaws in this defense. This defense is named for its formation since there is one defender at the point, three defenders at the free throw level, and one defender at the base line. The main focus of this defensive strategy is to force turnovers. This is done by using quick, pestering defensive tactics, and anticipating any passes to attempt a steal. To help create more turnover a two–man trap is implemented into this defense. While the offense drives the ball down the court the defense attempts to guide the ball handler towards a corner. • 33. STAAR Test Lessons: My Sophomore Year Of High School STAAR Test Lessons: Rough Draft I took the English 2 STAAR test in late April of my sophomore year of high school. The test determines your reading and writing skills that you've learned in the grade level. After a semester and a half of preparation for this 4 hour–long test, I was ready. Ever since I moved to the U.S., I've been a smart student. I was always studying every night, went to some tutoring a couple of times to clear out some stuff, and I got the grades that I studied for. I was confident and knew that I was going to pass this test. But then summer came and I saw my results. The English STAAR test was by far the most stressful exam that I've ever taken in my life. I passed every part of the test except reading. I've never been a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I've always been really hard on myself when it comes to academics and it got to the point that I was stressed out everyday. I also decided to be more patient with the process. Mr. Frost and I kept practicing after school every Monday and Wednesday. Two weeks before test day, during one of our after school practices, Mr. Frost told me, "John, I think you are ready. No more meetings", he said proudly. After that day, we stopped with the meetings after school. Now I was just waiting for test day patiently. The test was on March. I walked in to the testing room with " How am I going to do?" and I walked away from the room saying to myself, "I did it". Three weeks later, the results arrived. I was patiently waiting for Mr. Frost to hand me over the results. As soon as I saw the results, I screamed for joy. I, John Paul Adams, passed the English 2 STAAR test. I was the happiest student in that classroom that day. I went over to Mr. Frost and before I even said anything he said, "I already know that you came over here to tell me that you passed so might as well give me a hug right now kiddo", he said while opening his arms so that I could give him a hug. I learned so much from this experience. It taught me just how hard work really pays off and if you put in the time and effort, with a positive mindset, you can accomplish anything that you want. After failing the test for the first time, I started ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 35. Literary Analysis Of Annihilated Time Literary Analysis Annihilated Time Although many may not believe it until it happens to them, time can pass by so swiftly that one won't even register it at first. Yes, time passing is a part of life, but the realization of it is another story within itself. "Forgetfulness," a poem by Billy Collins, and an excerpt from "Once More to the Lake" by E.B. White both provide a clear example of how fast time can go by. In Collin's piece, he puts together many various ideas one can forget as their life moves incredibly fast. Likewise, in White's "Once More to the Lake," the narrator struggles to understand how quickly time really passed and how his son is so similaralike to him. Both of these pieces of writing use X syntax and X diction to develop the common theme of annihilated time. First off, "Once More to the Lake" and "Forgetfulness" each utilize nostalgic diction in order to generate the theme of annihilated time. In "Once More to the Lake," the narrator takes his son to a lake in Maine that he always went to as a child. Throughout the story, he mentions how he sees himself in his son, hence getting him caught up with how quickly time flew by. In more detail, he chooses specific words to describe these feelings, such as "sustain the illusion" (White 2) and "revisit old haunts" (White 1). By using these specific words to explain his experience with his son, it makes it seem both natural and unnatural, similar to the passing of forgotten time. Moreover, these specific ... • 37. Summary Of How To Touch A Bleeding Dog Love can often cause people to adjust their lifestyle to another person's. How to Touch a Bleeding Dog shows how a guy who once had a wife that he loved took care of one of her most precious possessions. It's safe to say the average human being doesn't have to have mutual friendship (a human) with the dog in order to like him/her. In this case however the main character from this short story says that the dog is not his, but is his responsibility. This responsibility seemed to fall to him due to the passing of his wife. One could even say he seems disconnected from the world from the relationship that is seen between him and his dog. The dogs passing could be seen as a metaphor for the Beth leaving her husband on his own to provide for himself, to take care of any possessions she may have had, and to fight his depression alone. The main character is now having feelings of loneliness and depression. The first paragraph states that "inside is warm", and "outside is cold", This could be tied as symbolism of the fact that he is secluding himself from the world. When the dog passed away the main character said that "it's not my dog, but it's my responsibility", this can make the reader think of all of the other responsibilities that the main character was left with. There are definitely some parallels between the dog and Beth. They both end up being burdens on the main character and leaving behind more for him to deal with. After the dog passes away the main character says "the blood on the carpet of the car is out of sight, and I will pretend it isn't there. And then there's the touch." The touch can be seen as how the dog emotionally affected him by passing away. The dog did bring sadness to the main characters life due to the memories the main character seemed to have when he interacted with the dog. "I watched my hand volunteer itself and run its finger through the nap of his head". The way this sentence is put together makes it sound as if his caring for the dog was an involuntary action. One would think that if the pet had a close connection to a person, and that person has passed away that someone who misses the person that has passed may use the pet to help with the loss. • 38. Hot Potato Evaluation Evaluation of Objectives #1 Social development: Sharing– The children will respectfully share materials during play. This developmental object was displayed through the "Hot potato" (share the animal) activity. The activity consisted of a sharing action, by passing on the different animal to the next preschooler. I believe that the objective was achieved though this activity, as except onechild was eventually able to pass along the animals properly. For example, in blue group six preschooler automatically comprehended the objective of the game and passed the animals along smoothly, while two (G.M and G.P) children need to be reminded that this is a sharing activity and that we need to continuously pass along the animals. In yellow group every ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As I read the book about sharing and taking turns, I asked the preschoolers to describe what they see and how the characters are feeling. The objective was only partially achieved in the yellow group as I did not give an introduction explaining my book. This mistake could of possibly made it more difficult for the children to describe the scenario in the story, as they did not know what to focus on. On the other hand, I did ask questions throughout the book, prompting children to use descriptive words to describe how the characters were feeling. For example, F.W was able to explain and use descriptive words when answering my questions throughout the book, but at the end of the book she was not able to describe the main theme. All eight children reacted the same way. This is my fault as I did not specify where the preschoolers should maintain their focus. Therefore, my second time implementing the activity allowed all eight children in the blue group to fully achieve the objective, as I made sure to be more clear about what the children should focus on, helping them interact and understand more thoroughly. Overall, the children reacted well to the book as I used different tones to keep them ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. The Dance Team-Personal Narrative It was it. Today was the day that all of our hard work and preparation would matter. Weeks of conditioning and giving up our social lives to train were finally put to work. It was it. It was the NLL championship track meet. Right from when I woke up the day felt different. My stomach churned and all I could think about was how much I wanted to win. I could barely eat because my nerves were nibbling away at me. As I was getting driven to school, I kept picturing my running strategy in my head. I had two races tonight, the 400 meter dash and the 4x400 relay. Our relay team had put in hours of work. Our handoffs were now nearly seamless, and we knew tonight was going to be our run. The rest off the school day went on as "typical", but the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My mind was cleared and all I could think off was passing people. Before I knew it, I was halfway around the track and my coach was screaming "Dig! Digggggg!!". I shot myself forward and kept this pace. Now it was the last straight away, and I gave it all of my energy I had left. Crossing the finish line felt great, even though I did not race nearly as well as I had wanted to. I was just happy to be there. Over the announcements soon after I heard that I had gotten seventh overall and I was very happy. There were so many girls in the NLL and I placed 7th out of all the 400 meter dash runners. Plus, I always had next year. Now, it was time for the race I was most excited for, the 4x400. It was the same distance as my previous run, but our relay had a shot of winning the title of first. That didn't matter though, because we had to show we don't give up and do what we ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
