WHAT IS GUIDANCE Republic Act 9258 	Defines guidance and counseling as a profession involving an “integrated approach to the development  of a well-functioning individual primarily by helping him/her to utilize his/potentials to the fullest and plan his/her future in accordance to his/her abilities, interests and needs.”
WHAT IS GUIDANCE Dictionary of Psychology 	Defines guidance as the procedures used to assist individuals to find maximum satisfaction in their educational and vocational careers. Guidance involves the utilization of interviews and tests, and the study of background information, in order to arrive at a systematic plan of educational or vocational pursuits.
WHAT IS GUIDANCE Hatch and Costar (1961) 	Defined guidance program as a system of services designed to improve the adjustment of each and every person for whom it was organized.
