Home Reading: The idea of home
reading is to practice different
strategies, broaden the style of
books/genre and foster
enjoyment and confidence and
is usually at an independent
level.
The children will only change
levels when each child is ready
based on fluency and
comprehension and not just
ability to retell or word reading
ability.
8. Voucher system. If children forgets their voucher, the ES Secretary will
provide a coupon and contact you regarding reimbursement.
Birthdays - Individual cakes/muffins may be sent to school to share but
no party packs. NO NUTS as we are sharing . Advance negotiation about
a suitable day and time is appreciated. Cakes should be in class by 9.20
am in most cases. Only cake- no gifts- no sweets
No money – except for Snack Sale days – usually once a month,
organised by SCO and notification and reminders will be in the Tin Tuc.

9. No Hat, Shaded Play not on the grassed areas (also impacts on PE
lessons)
Healthy Snack –– no sharing as mindful of food allergies and parents
preferences about food their child consumes.
There is sometimes a delay in receiving e-mails . Cut off for e-mails 2pm.
Assume I will not see it or read it until after school if sending an email
after this time.

10. All medications must be kept with the nurses. Please include
instructions with the medications.
A sick child should not be sent to school. If student is at school he/she
should participate fully in every lesson.
If there are long term conditions – such broken bones or severe
allergies when the child isn’t able to participate in P.E. In this case, a
doctor’s note should be provided indicating how long P.E. lessons
need to be missed. They will still attend the class but not participate.
