3rd Grade Orientation for Rutledge Hall School

1. WELCOME TO
THIRD GRADE!!

We will have 6 sections next year.

3. Overview
*School Hours- 8:00- 2:45 every day.
*We line up in the back of the building,
third grade by Door 3.
*Students may not be dropped of prior
to 7:45 a.m., when we have
supervision.

4. Morning Information
Tardy bell rings at 8:05.
If the front doors are open, you are
on time, if they are closed, you are
late and your child needs to be signed
in.
Please don’t park in the fire lane-
even to sign your child in.

5. SPECIALS
Art- 1 time a week, 60 minutes
PE- 3 times a week, 30 minutes
(2 times a week in class)
Music- 2 times a week, 30 minutes
Library- includes book check-out,
once a week-45 minutes

6. RESPONSIBILITY
Homework- assigned each night,
about 30 minutes.
Assignment notebook
Increase level of responsibility as the
year progresses
Ask that parents check that
homework is completed each night

• Have appropriate and needed
materials available
• Provide support as needed
• Encourage independence in work
completion

Helps reinforce expectations of
responsibility, respect, and safety
Uses positive reinforcement-
Rutledge Rewards
ODRs for issues that parents need to
know about and when consequences
need to be given.

• Often more about the discussion than a
consequence.
• Always call if there are questions or
concerns
